This will not work on all push mowers . Most push mowers need the blade to balance the engine an when you try starting a push mower without the blade it will kick back when pulling the rope an can hurt ur hand and the engine becouse the flywheel on most push mower are light so they need the blade to help balance. That’s why he didn’t try starting it for us to see
