    Your sound meter is way off. A normal conversation is around 60dB. When you were speaking your meter was showing ~70dB. So, there's something wrong when it reads 30dB or 18dB while the engine is running. The engine alone is probably north of 90dB I suspect your phone is clipping the audio due to high volume. 18dB is so quiet you wouldn't even be able to hear it over the normal sounds of nature outdoors.

    All this showed was how superior metal blades are at cutting compared to a strimmer line 🤔

    I mean it's really neat and I can see this being a great application for push mowers in rocky areas. That being said I put new gator blades on my mower today and there's nothing more satisfying than a fresh blade cut.

    I have owned a lawncare business for the past 30 years, you would spend more time redoing trimmer line than you would cutting the grass.

    The REVOsafe technology does discharge and bag on a limited basis, but is best utilized with a mulching cover. Thanks, BSC Team

    Did you mean to leave off the fiber washers when you installed the REVO blades? Grasshopper clearly specks out that the fiber washers are to be used when mounting mower blades on the spindles.

    But they have no lift. It may work on a zero turn with the deck out front, but not on a belly mower where the front tires lay down the grass. There would be no lift to stand it back up to be cut.

  • @shakes7333

    So what is the advantage here outside of lower sound?
    Probably ok if you cut short grass and never hit any anything like the occasional stick or rock.
    I dont see it discharging or even mulching the grass.
    To much maintenance, would have to be changed often im sure.
    Thanks but I will have to stick to my blades.

    Looks good! How does it compare to metal blades for cutting tall grass? How many hours of cutting time do the blades last? Besides being used only for mulching are there any other drawbacks. Thanks for the video.

    • @BladeSolution
      @BladeSolution  2 месяца назад +1

      @anonymous971, good evening! Thanks. It is comparable in that once you get into grass 8+ inches, you will have to make a couple of passes to get a clean cut. In normal everyday mowing conditions below the 8" growth there is very little difference. The current version of REVOline will last 6 to 9 hours in normal to heavy conditions, and we are actively working with our R&D on improving durability and cut quality of the upcoming version of REVOline.
      Other than the lack of lift and the REVOsafe technology being best in a mulching environment, you have to take into consideration of how you will access/change the line on your deck mowers. I personally have a set of extended ramps and a lawn mower lift that makes it a relatively simple process.
      Other areas of advantage to the REVOsafe technology are:
      SAFETY
      Significant decrease (estimate 85%) in lacerations and resulting amputations.
      Significant decrease (estimate 50%) in length of hospital stays, recovery timeframes, and financial costs across ALL riding mower injuries.
      Significant decrease (estimate 90%) in injuries related to rocks and debris launched by metal mower blades.
      EFFICIENCY
      Cost - consumer saves money (estimate 10-15%) over a 5-year mower life (blades, fuel, physical wear and tear on mower).
      Performance - acceptable cut and mulching capabilities for the majority of lawns and property.
      Ease of Use - flexible lines will require replacement more frequently than blades. Depending on terrain, lines will last for 6-9 hours of mowing. Consumer can install the hub and lines on any push, riding, or zero turn mower.
      Environmental Impact - much more eco-friendly solution. Lightweight assembly decreases stress on engine, increases equipment life, improves fuel/battery efficiency, and minimizes physical disruption to land, trees, and plants.
      Thanks much for your time and engagement! We understand the REVOsafe may not fit everyone's needs, but we are excited and dedicated to providing a safe and efficient alternative. Have a Blessed evening! BSC Team

    I've mowed professionally for 20 years. I thought this was a joke. Lol. How the heck you gonna get lift with those things? Whatever you wanna call them. The flange on a metal blade is there for a reason. The back side of the cuter side is always bent up so it lifts the grass into the cutting edge. This would work on a trimmer on wheels but why the heck would you put th🎉at on a mower for? To scam people that don't know what they're doing?

    • @fordmud
      @fordmud 2 месяца назад +7

      Field mowing or basically using your finish mower as a light brush cutter. I wouldn't use them on my lawn but I can definitely see a benefit mowing field grass when you don't see the hidden little rocks or debris that hangs up your regular blades and puts one hell of an impact on spindles.
      However I'm much too lazy to change my blades that often just to go from the yard to my fields.

      Well as those plastic strings wear your going to get strips left in the middle. No way this would be good for brush. Probably the only benefit besides noise would be mulching a light cutting. Definitely not ideal for my application. Will stick with my carbide faced marbain blades. No sharpening ever and will last a few hundred acres in mega sand. Now that's a blade...

    • @RichCadwalader
      @RichCadwalader 2 месяца назад +5

      You are correct. I saw a video (I think it was Smarter Everyday) that looked into how mower blades work. The flap on the blade creates lift that stands the blades of grass up to be cut evenly, just like the barber does with their fingers in your hair. No lift=shaggy cut. Good lift=nice cut. I can tell you from personal experience that when the flap on the blades wear down, the blades, no matter how sharp on the cutting edge, don't leave a good looking cut. The next day, the lawn looks like crap because a good bit of the grass wasn't being pulled up straight by the suction.

    • @joetroutt7425
      @joetroutt7425 2 месяца назад +5

      Trimmer line is designed to cut the grass at the tip of the string and you can never go too fast or the string will just glide over the grass and just big down or get twisted up in it depending on how long the grass is. This guy is cutting short grass. I was hoping to see taller grass getting cut so we could see the actual difference.

    • @tireballastserviceofflorid7771
      @tireballastserviceofflorid7771 2 месяца назад +2

      @joetroutt7425 It would probably cut taller stuff but ya speed would be a crawl. And you wouldn't know your missing it till it's missed. A great idea on paper. My uncle had one of those dr trimmer mower things. He loved it around his house, but said it was slow. He couldn't hold a trimmer so for him it worked.

    This would have been a far better video if it wasn't so obviously misleading and deceptive. The sound of the mower and blades at 20 yards and 2 yards from the camera sound exactly the same. It is painfully obvious that a different sound track is laid over the video for the purposes of tricking the viewer. Garbage.

    This is just stupid. If your busting up a lot of blades due to rocks and crap then get a flail mower they are amazing when it comes to real world mowing. This thing is going to be just like a string trimmer, it won’t handle brush, the strings have zero lift, and it won’t grind up the cuttings. This doesn’t address the issue of the line being fixed and requiring you to stop and change it out every few minutes! This is the worst of both worlds!
