Like other owners viewing this video of their Kenmore model dishwasher with a defunct touchpad (Start button and several others would not light up nor work anymore) I ordered the new Touch Pad (from Sears Parts dept) and succeeded in following the video step-by-step replacement process. Mostly easy, except it took some careful finesse at certain points to get the new touchpad to fit into its proper space and position. Trying to force it into position is a BAD idea, but wiggling it around a bit, and zooming in on the video at specific tricky places, were helpful and reassuring, since the video technician himself seemed to have the new part stick in places . Also, my old touchpad had a small spring device included that snaps in a slot at bottom of the touchpad -- between the brown soap dispenser "actuator" and middle of the other side (left to right) of the control box. That spring bit was not included with MY new touchpad, nor in the old OR new one in the video. Nonetheless, I took it out of the old touchpad and put it in its proper place in the new one. But it obviously serves no necessary function anyway, and I only mention it so others (who may also notice it in their old touchpad, will not waste the same time I spent figuring out what it was and how to make sure I got it in the new one! Have fun and feel proud to DIY !

Hey my Kenmore is 13 years old. Today it decided not to start. Clean light flashes, it drains just fine. Everything lights up as I touch them, but when I push start it flashes and does nothing else. Also lock light does not come on. Any suggestions?

This repair is cost prohibitive. About $130 dollars on amazon. Isn't there a way to check which components don't work and just replace the wires?
If I fix it, I will post a video of it and let you know.
