Thank you very much! This is the only video I found for a dishwasher with the same control panel buttons as mine. This was a great help. My machine reset and it appears to be working again.

Thank you for saying how long the reset would take! We kept pushing the stop button prematurely, not realizing that it was going to cycle through everything when you do a reset. We thought ok push the buttons and it’s done. Just in case anyone suffers from our problem... it will make an audible beep when it’s done. Lol! You saved us from ourselves! Thank you!!!!

Had a similar issue with my 665-XXXXXXX Kenmore but went first principals. It is about 13 yr old but runs fine. Replaced the rinse aid/ soap dispenser about 3 yr ago.
Panel was dead. Reset techniques failed miserably.
Dumped power and opened the box where the 110V came in. First, the wire nuts were fused together. The neutral wires are a bit brown. All this told me there was heat here which could only come from a loose connection of the machine wiring to the 110V supply.
I undid both wire nuts clipped the bare wires and re stripped 1/2 in of insulation. Reconnected with new wire nuts and restore power and the panel came alive. Pushed start and it carried on where it stopped. So just because the breaker looks fine we cannot assume that the correct voltage is getting to the control board and it will protect itself.

Thanks for sharing. Mines only had clogged and panel acting funny before. After the secret reset, it's still working again. I had mines from 2015 to today. Glad I didn't waste money buying it's replacement. We came close when the panel was acting funny.

I am getting a gritty film on the dishes on the top rack. On the bottom of the glasses (near the top of the dishwasher). Hoses are situated as recommended for drainage.

Man my dishwasher is doing the same thing but dont have a garage disposal or an air gap. Ive had people come out and no one can diagnose the problem.

Hello. My dishwasher Line is connected directly to the garbage disposal.

Mines also. Dishwasher outflow thru the garbage disposal. That's correct.

My dishwasher doesn't have all those buttons to reset or an airgap. Wish this would have been my fix!

Probably chose any set and try if it works.

Is everything Kenmore a piece of sht?

    • @netman88

Nope. It lasted 5 years before we started seeing issues. For this Kenmore, it's really a Whirlpool. Kenmore is just in the name.
