This game should not even be called a remake, it's a remaster. It has the same story, characters, music and the list goes on. Sure, it offers new things, better graphics, new animations and better facial expressions, which are reused from the first game. But just because you add new things like visual enhancements and gameplay upgrades, doesn't make it a remake.
And the worst is that, this "remake" doesnt even have the multiplayer, which is veeeery good

All they have to do is slap a $10 or more discount for previous owners of the game. Or even better put it on PS Plus Premium. It would give many people a reason to sign up for that service. I can't believe they haven't done 1 of these things. This is pure greed from Sony. Naughty Dog is not at fault I feel like they have put the work in for this remake to get new players interested in playing it for the first time.
10$ discount? This REMASTER should be a 20$ upgrade for owners of the original or 40$ for new buyers. It being full priced AND the full price of ps5 games that is 70 goddam dollars is ridiculous. It's more expensive than any other version of the game and it's just a graphics update. Edit: not to mention it has less content that previous versions since it has no Factions mode and it still costs more than the original ever did
I'm glad that it's coming to PC, I'll definitely be buying it there, but I'll probably end up waiting for a sale. $70 is too much. It's too much for games in general, but it's doubly too much for something like this.
$50 would be fair IMO. The addition of TLoU2 difficulty options/customization and accessibility features along with the other improvements warrants another go at this game. But yes, $70 is ridiculous. I'll wait for a price drop.

There is no reason to purchase this game, least not from a current fan stand point. I have played this game more time than I can even count. It's one of those games that I went back to time and time again looking to kill time, or experiment. So if the "Remake" is literally the exact same game other than graphics tweaks, it's pointless. And even more so when you slap a $70 price tag on it. This game is a cash grab for the fans they are expecting to get from the up coming TV show. Despite what the dev's say, its a cash grab, nothing more.
I would never pay 70 . . . I paid 100 for the firefly edition ;)

Most of us agree that the price of this “remake” isn’t justified. There’s only a few ways to make amends to this situation (ranging from least to most effort)
1. Drop the price, pretty self explanatory. $45 to me would be fair to all parties.
2. Make this a bundle deal and include TLOU Part2. You’re getting the complete modernized story all in one. If there’s something you haven’t played or wanna experience things in the best way possible, this would be the way to do it
3. Rectify the simplest mistake and tack the multiplayer back on. It doesn’t have to be up to date with the visuals but in no way should it be excluded. Port it and be done with it, simple
4. Lastly, delay the game and give it an appropriate remake! If they took their time and reworked the environments, brought over the new mechanics, added in other stuff (enemies, events, anything of merit really) and really gave the input that the ppl want to see then it would turn heads and be worth the price. It really isn’t “rebuilt from the ground up” otherwise
In conclusion, what they have here is a ‘good start’ but it’s nowhere near what should be presented for a remake of a well renowned game only 8-9yrs old. They need to bring more. I can time myself for a speedrun, I can challenge myself with a no death run, and so on. What experience are you giving me that I haven’t gone through already??

This came to be $30 no more This just gives me another reason to not buy a PlayStation five
It should be 30 to 40 dollars in my opinion cause not only does it have less content but its already been remastered. Also, it was already said that sony wantes the least amount of effort to get the highest amount of money so thats why this was chosen instead of an uncharted remake.

It’s controversial because it’s a remake to a series of what was a master piece aside from one poor and crippling story of the 2nd game.
It really is a shame.
Still one of my top games series when it comes to every other aspect.
Solution, vote with your wallet. Don’t buy TLoU Remake at launch for that price tag. Naughty Dog is already looking more like a shitty game developer company. Sony is onboard because of profits. I hope they fail in sales. Gamers need to give them the clear message. Thanks for your input.
