    Thank you so much for the tutorial. This video has a specific purpose, but I wanted to add as a caveat that I actually like the sound of the the vocal stacks loose -- maybe not fit the entire song, but on specific parts it can add a creative touch.

    I strongly recommend trying out Spectral Peaks for this kind of work. View -> Peak Display settings -> Spectral Peaks. I makes plosives and "s" es much easier to spot and judge on sight. Also makes the same kind of work on rhythm guitars much more pleasant for the same reasons.

      I'll be doing a couple vocal mixing videos in the near future, they go all the way indepth into how I mix vocals.

    Hey man can you possibly make a video going more into transients ? Showing us exactly where they should best be placed ? Ive been struggling getting things stretched and almost matched up but I must've grabbed it too early or too late at transient or wrong transient to move

    This is eye opening, thank you! Also those vocals stacks are giving me Shane Told from Silverstein vibes. Go check out their last two albums.

    Thank you very much for this video, I'm checking Reaper out to move away from ProTools after 20 years and this was very useful.
    Sometimes I edit out breaths from all the vocals but the lead when doing a stack, what do you think?

      How are you enjoying it so far?
      I started out with Pro Tools LE, then moved to Reaper a year or two later.
      Absolutely a rad technique!
      I've been going one step further lately for some songs, entirely cutting plosives and annoying consonants. It has definitely helped the lead vocal cut through dense mixes, and allow the stacks to sit behind a little more.
      Thanks for watching!

    About to jump onto Reaper. I use Bitwig and will use that to build beats, but I like the audio stuff on reaper more.

    Great video! Do you recommend rendering the items down after applying the time adjustments/stretch markers, or is it okay to leave them as is?

    • @zanarirecords
      @zanarirecords  10 месяцев назад +1

      I usually leave them as is, however, visually they change when rendered/glued.
      I don't notice a tone/sound shift at all & never have, but it's interesting to see them shift.
      I will also note you can get error in Melodyne if you don't glue before tuning, it's rare, but it has been happening to me lately.
      Thanks for watching & commenting!

    Good evening, do you think this technique would work on a vocal that was rushed but the guitar sort of already matches with the vocal? Or could I potentially do this technique with the guitar part as well? I just want to stretch this one small part of the song that's it. Thank you and God bless.

    • @zanarirecords
      @zanarirecords  Год назад

      Yep definitely!
      You could stretch both parts to line up better.
      Is the guitar & vocal recorded together?
      The only issues I could imagine arising would be if its acoustic guitar & vocals recorded together, then you may have stretching artifacts coming through either mic.
      But give it a shot!
      Thanks for the comment, let me know if theres any other videos youd like to see!

      @@zanarirecords Great, I will definitely give it a shot then! No, it's separate audio. Vocals are on there own. Thank you for responding! I will definitely let you know.
