The Perfect Day on the Camino de Santiago - Viana do Castelo, Portugal - Day 6

- Today was our longest walking day on the Camino, as we leave Viana do Castelo for Caminha, but it also happened to be our most favorite. A beautiful church on a hill, fresh pastries, incredible views, our first albergue/hostel on this route, and a fun Q&A game to end the night with wine and recline.

Love Lisa’s (behind the scene) photo drying dance moves. So playful.
💃🏻😂🕺🏼
the world definitely needs more empathy and love, well put!!
This was so beautiful!!! And also: I'm impressed how tiny Josh's backpack is.
it is remarkable small--18L and mostly full of tech/gear haha
I truly appreciate your candid opinion and openness to share the good, the bad and the ugly,... and how you pivot and regroup. This resiliency is lovely to watch. Thank you.
thanks for saying this! :) it means a lot to us
You've found your groove! Happy you switched back to coastal.
yesss!! us too!! :)
Hi, I am going to walk camino portuguese way November this year. Since it is low season, your video became really helpful. Thank you for sharing your journey! ;-)
awesome!! buen camino--have a wonderful journey!
I agree, I did not encounter a single negative or unfriendly person when I walked the Camino. Looking forward to going again next year. Buen Camino
such hospitality all around :)
Enjoying the trip vicariously through you guys. I wait anxiously for when new videos are available. Thanks for showing the behind the scenes stuff d
thanks for coming along the journey! more coming soon :)
Awwwwww! You guys! I love your walking trip along the Camino. It really makes me so happy... especially on a great day like this!
thanks for coming along with us! was truly a fun day :)
I've seen some of your previous videos, and you guys are both personal and relationship goals. I'm looking at Viana do Castelo as a potential place to live in Portugal one day, so it was just great to see your fleeting trip through it. Thank you so much for the adventures and inspiration.
what a fantastic day! I'm definitely climbing to see that church and Manuel next time. I stopped for coffee in Caminha and it looked nice. Your room was great.
What a beautiful walk along the beach! You guys made a great choice. I’m glad to see you both happy & enjoying the journey. Can’t wait to see what you encounter next 🤗
Thank you so much! :)
I think you guys made the right decision to go back to the Coastal route!😊
couldn't agree more! :)
An awesome day! Thanks for sharing it with all of us.
Your videos are always a pleasure to watch. Notably, the video of this day on the Camino is exceptional 🎉🎉.
thanks for taking the time to watch them :) we were really loving this leg of the Camino
What an incredible day. What I wouldn't give to walk in your shoes!
glad to see the detours - the beautiful view of the church and the pastries! Those small things are the things that you will lovingly reminisce about in the future.
so true! ☺️
Greetings from Dublin Ireland. Really enjoying your videos.Thank you both
Finishing my first day on the Camino Frances. The sense of accomplishment was incredible
such an incredible feeling! congrats and buen camino :)
Loved this one! I’m inspired to add the Coastal route of Camino Portuguese to my bucket list! Thanks for sharing
Awww, I love that photographer!!
simply the best!
love you guys and your videos!
I agree on eating an infinite amount of breakfast cereal!! -J
🥛&🥣 all day! :)
Love the video guys
The scenery is so amazing on this leg! (And yes, I've always thought Josh looked like a mix between Patrick Wilson and Chris Pratt)
we definitely can see it now :)
As someone who landed in Osaka last week for the first time, I totally agree! The first 48 hours are a one-two punch of massive jet lag and culture shock -- the Osaka train station is the most chaotic place I've ever been. But things started to click and get comfortable and every day since has been amazing. And thanks to your advice, I splurged on omakase -- OMG. I head back to America in three days and am already planning to come back to Japan as soon as possible.
this is incredible to read! that train station IS massive! it's chaotic beauty, for sure. enjoy your trip! we can't wait to go back as well :)
You'll look back on this experience when you're old!
Another great video. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful
the toughest thing for me would be leaving these beautiful places each day.
I love when you realized you had nothing to be afraid of, traveling alone to Japan. Do it scared but do it, right?
Haha, love the days where there's so many odds and ends and distractions that you don't have time for the actual walking.
the best kinds of days!
You love the coast-Caminos? Try Camino del Norte next time. 😉
In 2015 I met my (now) husband there and we’ll be back on the Camino this may to show our little girls where mum and dad met. 🥰
Buen camino! 💛👣
this is a great story--so incredible! :) we are excited to try Camino Del Norte soon! buen camino!!
Love that incredible church at the top of the hill. I’ll be walking through there next month. What was the name of that Albergue at the top?
Looks like it’s this one!

@@LisaAndJosh 😊 Thanx so much! Peace. Safe travels.
I stayed at the cool fancy hotels last year on the Camino Frances and I’ll be doing the same on the Camino Coastal route next year or the year after. Let me know if you see any! 😂 I’ve heard about the one parador and will definitely be staying there!
ohhh where's one parador? :)
@@LisaAndJosh Here is one. Parador de Pontevedra.
Is there a app your using to find accommodation ? I’m looking to start this Camino this April
we used a mix of the Buen Camino app, camino.love (this is mostly for the off season), Booking.com, and just google :)
@@LisaAndJosh thank you! I’ll be there next month .. enjoy your Camino ! Thanks for the great videos
I just could not help to notice in the bag of Josh, there is a flag from Taiwan? As a Taiwanese who got suppressed from the Big country from the international presence all the time…I am considering to take the route. If I do at some point, it will be my first Camino.
That sure is :)
Do you know what the church was called? What a special memory to have those photos! Buen Camino!
it's the Santuário de Santa Luzia. we can't wait to frame those photos some day! :)
@@LisaAndJosh I am going in April- May. I hope I can see the photographer too :)
@@anonymoususermouse awesome, we hope so too! :)
ok, lisa? you look like my favorite disney princess, mulan, and michele kwan. lol.
Bring on the 🍷 & 🛋 💺👨🦯👩🦯
