I have been shopping for shabby chic furniture and was going to buy other pieces and it was starting to get very expensive as I am downsizing from a king bed to a queen. Now...after looking at a couple of diy videos I can keep my pieces, cut down my expense in half, while getting to take a piece of furniture and make it look really awesome! I LOVE this idea and cannot wait to get started! Thank you so much! 😊🙂
Great tutorial! Not too much information in a short video. My only suggestion is ... can you take out the music when you are talking? It competes with the sound of your voice. Being a hearing impaired person, it makes it difficult to understand you. Thank you for reading, I just wanted to let you know.

used chalk paint and the first coat and it was coming off when I applied the second,even though I left it to dry overnight,followed the instructions but it was a disaster, any tips on what I was doing wrong,used it straight from the tin and no water was used.
David Keogh was it Annie Sloan? other chalks in my opinion can't compare. She recommends doing 2nd coat right away. Then wax, the wax is what seals the paint and cures it. The paint is water base so when you let it dry, anything would remove it, i.e. a wet rag 2 weeks later. So I recommend you go to Annie Sloan YT page. There is one video where she applies 1st coat, then 2nd, then waxed in 30 min. The paint is designed for quick start, finish, and use.
I liked the affects and nothing personal but you really should have taken off the hardware instead of painting over it.... As an artist myself, I can tell you painting over it makes the piece look cheap and sloppy. That's my personal opinion, but hey, the piece is yours and other than the hardware, I liked the look.

We painted our piano with less than what was in the paint can and now all the keys are stuck together.
I've seen some videos do the sanding first then apply the wax as the final step. Does that make a big difference in the durability of the paint?
Queen Kong Nope paint right over it. Unless you want a very smooth finish.
the music is a bit distracting. If it was a tad less loud it may be easier to listen

if you didn't use a degreaser on the item prior to using chalk paint it won't adhere..
David Keogh clean your idem really good with a ruff green side sponge. Use the wax or clear coat your done. Get good paint
