I’m from Dallas. That is the uniform of a Dallas Cheerleader. Meatloaf grew up in a Dallas suburb. He’s always been a Cowboys fan. Meatloaf, you’re the greatest. Dallas will always love you.
Around 98 took my son to see him at SMU. (Southern Methodist University). Place was full of parents like me who brought their kid to experience Meatloaf. Between songs he’d talk about the good times growing up in Dallas. God, he’s wonderful.

Saw the man do this song in London Ontario, Canada . I thought it wasn't him in the wig , then he started to sing, wholly s**t, even at his age you could hear the power, feel it flow right through you, it was the best concert I've been to since Styx. The ladies sang amazing, his acting was beyond anything I ever seen. Wish today's music could have such soul and be listenable. People say Elvis was a king of rock and roll, well maybe they should have heard Meatloaf's beautiful theatricals' first, maybe they would change their minds. An accomplished musician (the hard way ) and not to bad of a actor also. Hopefully he well make another comeback I would like to see him again.

Pretty sure that was the casting order and they found her!!

  • @DDS029

A lot of trolling going on here, for a great entertainer who at this time was going through the roughest period of his career. The date says this was posted in 2014, but the performance was way earlier. Divorce, depression, a fall out with Jim Steinman, over touring f'ing up his voice, hospital stints from dehydration and exhaustion trying to run away from his troubles if even for a couple of hours at a time.
My wife and I saw him and his show three times in this era. The first time, he was like this, but the excitement of being there blinded us of that bit. The next two times, were about three years apart from each performance. Totally different. Back to the same ol' Meat. The second time the opening act didn't show. They started their part of the show about an hour early, added four or five songs, and still did two encores. It was awsome. It was like he was reborn. Patricia Russo was on point all three shows. His daughter Pearl was part of the third time around.
The best concerts ever performed by an actor . . . after all, he personally has never called himself a singer. But whatever he called himself, I called it the most entertained by someone on a stage I ever saw. He loved Detroit, because Detroit loved him. By the way, I hope all of you know that he put out a new album last year. Just keeps adding to the 80 million plus he has already sold.
    Not bad . . . for an actor . . . 🎶🎶🎵🎶🔊😁🎧🌠

Thanks for posting this. Meat Loaf always was a unique performer, but the song is timeless. For those of us who haven't been able to master any language other than English, here's a TRANSLATION of Martin v:on Ott's priceless description above, thanks to the magic of the Internet:
"Meat at its best! In a duet with Aspen Miller in a dreamlike version.
Meat appears as a young Meat Loaf (long, long is it) but always spares his strength... The megathing demands everything from him (asthma)! Here he once again shows his absolute one-offness!!! THANK YOU Meat & Greetings from an absolute fan of the first hour."
Some added information: "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" is a song written by Jim Steinman. The original hit recording back in 1977 with Ellen Foley was produced by Todd Rundgren. A song about the ultimate sex/car/date where things don't necessarily go as planned, as does it?

To the guy saying, "don't blame meatloaf, voices drop as you get older blah blah"
Like, dude....Blame? Are you kidding? The guy's still a fucking master! That timing, that presence, fucking amazing! Blame, nothing, I am amazed! And the ability to hit all of that 50 years after you wrote the damn thing?! Fuck it, that's inspiration! He's a goddamn beast, and a rock and roll god! Hooah, yo, fuckin' hooah. That performance was straight gold.
But on the other note, holy FUCK that woman's voice is ON POINT! I'd think she was lip syncing if I didn't know any better, she's nailing it like....WOW!

walkernick86 Meatloaf has always stated that he is an actor who sings a bit. This is a very old recording - you can tell by two facts - Meatloaf's appearance (he cut his hair years ago) and the fact that his co-artist in this video is Patricia Russo.

The very first concert I ever attended was Meat Loaf at Rockland Community College, I think it was either 1975 or 1976. Carla DeVito was the lead female vocalist. I think Ellen Foley was already on Night Court. Or had taken the gig. Everybody sitting near me, was singing every song along with the band. Good times…

Meatloaf has always been the pinnacle of the balance between being a singer and a performer. I think Pink may be the closest to him today. I don't know who finds his partners for duets, if he doesn't do it himself, but they should be applauded for finding the perfect ones. Bravo!
