At his age here he still kicks ass compared to all the so called stars with autotune. Rest in peace friend! I loved you always and always will. A true genius!! A rock legend!!
Jeez, can't believe the nitpicking. This was nine years ago. He had already been on the road for thirty years, had bouts with throat problems where he had to cancel dates. The real fans understand that, but we respect the way he's entertained us for all that time. He may not have the numbers of people consider themselves fans, but he sure has the loyal ones. You have to be if you are going to invest the time in hearing songs that last two, three, even four times longer than most, with the key changes, tempo changes, phrasing, the changing of the emotion of the songs, the power of some, the gentleness of others. You have to invest in his music. I find that most of his fans are musicians themselves, and put themselves into the music, sitting in the band, playing right with the, no matter what they instrument they play because it fits, it's so filled out any instrument has a place.
It's just an observation. Meat's voice, at least for this show, was weak at times. He's not the same singer he was in the Rocky Horror Picture Show and Bat out of Hell Days, not many of us are. It's still a great show, part of a live event is to take the imperfections and roll with them. I always do, I can recall some shows that stand out as sonically superb. But there a have only been a few shows that truly stand out as being completely true to the record in my 67 years. The Neverland Express was Gold as usual.
ASPEN MILLER outshines EVERYBODY (yes, even Meatloaf) I Love You ASPEN! Keep on Rockin' and Keep on being an AWESOME SINGER AND ENTERTAINER! I LOVE ASPEN!
I definatley consider myself one of the lucky a nd privalage ones to have seen him live twice those who didn't or couldn't will never know what they missed the man was astonishing
Trevor B I'm buying the DVD. Can you tell me the title? His sound is astounding. He has a great engineer. Yep, I want it for Aspen and CC too, lol. They are nnot only good to look at, they (and his entire band) are incredibly talented.
snarlingrabiddog5150 It may not be this *exact* version of the video, but look for "Meat Loaf, 3 Bats Live" at your local Music Store or at Amoebamusic.com
Trevor B Thanks Trevor, I checked Amoebamusic but they are out of them, but found some on Amazon and iOffer. I wanted this DVD, but wasn't sure of the exact title. I wanted to be sure to get this performance with Aspen and CC :) I appreciate it!
Again, I am not sure if it this *exact* video as shown here. Believe me, though, Paradise (By The Dashboard Light) as well as many others feature Aspen quite prominently and also quite sexy if I may so myself. 3 Bats Live takes the best of the "Bat Out Of Hell" Series and puts into an almost 3 hour concert.
What you are hearing is NOT the live sound, it is the record mix. They fix all the off notes, the missed notes and the dead gaps in the show before it goes out the door. It is still a fabulous concert, top band, top singers.

This was such a great show - tight and fast-moving - one huge, long high of a show, and for every single song, Meat and the band were absolutely at the top of their game. Mercury and Gimme Shelter made a perfect (but too soon!) ending. omg what a great memory!!!
They played an extra hour at a show I was at, when the opening act didn't show. With the energy they, and the audience puts in the show, we were all wiped out after the show. I had to make a stop at the bar tent on the way out to get a drink and, "come down" before I could drive home. And I don't drink.
Look at Meat here, rockin' like his life depended on it. Then think of the so-called rockers getting up in years who've turned to ballads, or mistakenly thought they could slide into another genre, like blues...and failed. Meat sure seemed to be serious about his music, and his fans are serious about him, even if there's a crack or quake in his voice during a live performance. And he sure was a nut job in "Black Dog", wasn't he?
That dark haired lady's voice is amazing. This is a great performance from everyone. Wish I saw Meatloaf before he passed
The lady he introduced was Marion Raven. The dark haired lady on stage is Aspen Miller, the other is Carolyn "C.C." Coletti-Jablonski.
Raven actually has a couple albums
CC blonde Back up singer what a voice Awesome and beautiful
Nobody could sing like Meat did in his prime and put on a show as well as he and the Neverland Express did! True Rock & Roll at its finest!
I agree with 100% M Ladd

DDS, you are spot on. One of the greatest entertainers ever. Forever a Meatloaf fan.
Right on from a drummer
Even more actually, he'd been performing for 40 years at this point and 60 y/o.
More if you count the bands he was in before going pro.
Really. Show some a respect.
One of my biggest regrets in life is never seeing Meat Loaf live.
Got to see him on the tour for Bat Out Of Hell 2. Great show.
I regret not seeing him went to see him twice in the UK but he didn't turn up meat was unwell
Me too!1👍😎
.
I was fortunate to see him three times.
One of those artists where you know most of the songs and you sing at the top of your lungs….
He also killed it live. This one is a big loss
The singer of Meet Loaf has just died 💔 at the age of 74 today 🖤 May he rest in peace 🕊
Who's Meet Loaf?
Yes, the singer of Meat Loaf, Meat Loaf, has passed. RIP Meat
Meat Loaf was a guy. Not a band. It was his nickname/stage name. Real name was Marvin Lee Aday
Ohh 😯 yeah there will never be another one like him

Paul Dinardo. Indeed. Aspen Miller is something else. She and CC Coletti do an outstanding job! Perhaps the best in the business.
Was für ein toller Sänger. Ich werde dich nie vergessen. RIP
Great version. Wow. Powerful. The backup singers sound phenomenol.
You can tell just by watching meatloaf he's very intense and concentrated. He definitely loves what he does. Meatloaf rocks!!!!! Dave from Maine
Killer band. Who were the girls?
Possibly the greatest Showman with the greatest live band ever👍🇬🇧
As someone who from 1985 - 2013 saw him 32 times I can only agree with that my friend.

tears in double from Brazil. a great loss for fans.
One of the greatest live performers I have ever seen. Saw him twice in Adelaide, South Australia, Downunder.
Saw him twice in Australia. Apparently he fell off the stage on the Goldie and broke his leg a couple of days after I saw him in Lismore NSW.
What a fun tune! And Aspen is a knockout!
The world has lost a LEGEND. Keep on jamming through eternity Meatloaf. I'll see you on the other side with guitar in hand my friend.

Meatloaf and his band and singers do credit and justice to this Classic Rolling Sone's song. Gimme Shelter.

A rocker par excellence to the end. Love all of Meatloafs gifts to us on loan from God.
If you like this version, search for Mary Clayton’s isolated vocals from the original recording of Gimme Shelter.
God bless you, Meatloaf....I truly hope you're resting well, in Heavan

My boy did good, love you buddy.
This was the year that Patti Russo took off from Meatloaf's band, that's why Aspen Miller is here. But CC is always here
