I simply cannot imagine a better performance of this Steinman/Meatloaf Masterpiece, and by a mile this is my favorite online! It is just EPIC in every way from the incredible, world class musicianship to the perfect vocal performance. It wouldn't surprise me at all if nothing was even touched up in post production. I always watch this if I need a lift in my spirits and it never fails! Bravo and standing ovation!
The problem I often have with Meat Loaf covers is that most people that I see do them are just singing the songs. Very few capture the raw power and emotion of Meat Loaf's voice. This cover did it right. So much oomph behind the vocals. These are songs that were written like an opera. Each one is a play just as much as a song. It's not just words. It's a role. You have to put the emotion into it, and these singers did that so well.
If you couldn't tell, I'm a huge Meat Loaf fan.
You Are so right
Preach, said it all about the great Meat Loaf!
Yep they managed to take all the life out of the song
@@musicfixed6951 Well they are a general cover band, not a Meatloaf tribute band, so I think they did pretty well. And lets be honest who is out there that could realistically recreate the sheer power in Meatloaf's voice.
You took the words right out of my mouth
Holy crap.. I am a died in the wool Meat loaf fan.. This was awesome.. How have I nopt seen this.. Bloody well done. OK - Just thank you. you guys must be amazing live, .
swear I was flying on my bicycle today listening to this in the hot new mexico sun, the great Rio Grande on my left and Organ mountains to my right... my heart still beating... after all these years.
This ist from you the best version from this song. Thank you !!!!
I think this is the best video by the classic rock show. They cleaned up the sound of this song a little. Also sense they needed 2 singers to hit meatloaf's range he had they really showcase how impressive the song is
Heart and soul into a great track… just brilliant way before the legend left us😌
Can't wait to see you guys in a month on April 7th...PLEASE play this song!! It's a week after my birthday request!!
\
What’s up with this crowd?? Haha. This is an AMAZING cover!! Everyone nailed it. I wouldn’t be able to sit still.
I challenge anyone to find a better performance of "Bat out of hell". This isn't a simple cover, it is it's own performance of this classic.
You're dead right !
Im sure Meatloaf & Jim Steinman would be proud on this performance looking down at the gates of heaven.
The main reason that "no one" can play the piano part at the beginning of this song is because Todd Rundgren engineered this with two pianos recorded at different times through the magic of multitrack recording with Jim Steinem. And to add even more impact to the song, Todd Rundgren played such a signature guitar solo on this song oh, it even has a name," motorcycle guitar solo".
Great song all the way through. Great job on this performance.
Das ist die hohe Kunst der Musik !!! GREAT !!!
These guys are good
Brilliant GH
Wow!!!!!! Awesome
PERFECT
RIP Mr. Loaf🦇
Rip Jim, more is more
fucking azmaing lads .loving the intro ,,got me in heaven with that.cracking proformance🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Who knew Dominic Monaghan and Kim Coates could sing so darn well???!!!!
Rest in peace Michael Lee Aday.
My god, there is no way I could sit through that performance. I’d be on my feet and acting like I was 18 again - bloody awesome. RIP Meat, you were a huge part of my teenage years ya legend.
same...57 here.
I have seen videos of a few of their shows. Some audiences seem to go right off - And others are like this............Dont understand it.
❤❤
Certain venues don’t allow you to get up onto your feet (i.e. Sheffield City Hall) is one of them@@glenchapman3899
I was, had to apologise straight away to those behind saying “you can’t sit down to this one”. They didn’t, and I seen the man about 20 times!
For those coming to check if the new version is better I guess you will agree that this is the best
by some distance, bring back Howie G.
@@GeordieGuitarGuy, without a doubt, I think this line up was the best
Agree 100% this is the best version. This lineup had some amazing chemistry it seems
I’m 52 and almost choked up watching this. This is how a Meatloaf song should be done. These guys really honored him with this version and the orchestra.
Where can I see more of this band?
This is the bands channel...
RIP Jim Steinman. We'll miss you dearly. You wrote all of Bat Out of Hell and Hell II, not to mention all the great singles from Bonnie Tyler, Celine Dion and more.
Many good men...
Steinmann even made Air Supply cool! That man was a musical genius!
Don't forget part 3 as well
never even knew he died....one of the greatest song writers ever.
@Alfie and Laynee I hope someone told him and Jim about this awesome cover long before they died. Certainly, a fitting tribute to the artists.
The fact that they needed 2 vocalists to cover this as well as they did just emphasises the incredible vocal range Meatloaf (RIP) had. Absolute Legend. Fantastic energy in this cover and the twin guitarists were absolutely 'on point'
yes but my got they are amazing
Best cover of the song I've heard and I'm a die hard Meatloaf fan since 1977. Of course not many bands had the nerve to even try to cover this song even in a studio and these guys did it live.
The contrast of the two voices is great though
They dont "need 2 vocalists". The 2 guys take turns in all of the songs and some of the others sing too. Thats just how the band works.
@@RobbieFitzgeraldor do they need 2 vocalists for every song? 😎 (Not saying they do, just that your comment begs the question)
EDIT: it does seem that one of the two main vocalists does the main "gritty" moments and the other does the smoother bits .
R.i.p. meatloaf. You guys did this song justice and killed it!!👍
This is really good and it's not easy to do
Its brilliant and perfect
The BEST cover I’ve ever heard
And Jim stienman WHO do the music
Rip Meat Loaf and Thank you for all the great music. This is a monster of a cover, awesome done👍
I note, however, that this band needed TWO singers to cover Meat Loaf's vocal range.
Jim Steinman Firts!
@@christiancacibauda5512 I can do it!
This is the greatest and most honoured tribute to Meat Loaf, ever.
Damn straight. Every intonation, every beat every note. Spot on.
I think you are right.
You know you are one hell of a singer when a cover band needs two singers to sing your song the right way
Simply put, there are tribute bands and then there's The Classic Rock Show.
I've honestly never heard a cover of Bat Out of Hell until now, and I never want to hear another one for the rest of my life. This is perfection
I couldn't have said it better.....this was perfection of a masterpiece!!!!
Ted Finnigan yes it seriously is 👏
You should watch the Bandgeeks!
Amen to that
Go see the musical, it's even better than this
I am a Meat Loaf fan and can say NEVER THOUGHT ANYONE COULD DO HIS MUSIC. AMAZING. AMAZING THANK YOU.
Candy Benoitbelanger not too many tunes that can send chills down your spine Free Bird is the only other tune
I wasn't sure if anyone could recreate that sound and was a lil cautious about this video, but I checked the comments to see if it was worth it.
You made your case, and goddamn was it worth it.
Abso-fucking-lutely *killed* it. I'm still wiping away tears.

Candy Benoitbelanger agreed
hes not that special tho
Ok, I am 62 and generally hate covers because I lived through the originals...
They killed this. Cheers from Toronto. ☮
Yeah...Cheers from Copenhagen..!!
If they don't play at Least, Two or More, Meatloaf Songs at My Funeral, I'm Refusing to Go !!!
That is one of the most enjoyable 10 mins of my life. Magnificent
Incredible. The best performance of this song I’ve heard, second only to the loaf!
This is absolutely the BEST cover I've heard for this song! Actually choked me up. Longtime Meat Loaf fan, part-time pro drummer & keyboard player.
The two front men singing with so much passion...Fantastic band and show, Just awesome.
Everyone on that stage are talented AF.
They are both AMAZING..... I saw Ricardo Afonso (second lead singer) in We Will Rock You in London. Both lead singers have got STUNNING voices and both very pleasing to the eye.... ;-)
@@F1KillerQueen Yes, pleasing to the ear and eye.
@@SilentHotdog28 very pleasing to the eye
Like somebody put Bruce Springsteen, Queen and Megadeth in a blender and what came out was this song. Just how my weird brain works.
First time I've ever heard anyone even attempt a Meatloaf cover and they killed it!
literally
I cannot praise this performance enough! It was absolutely incredible!
Best cover of BAT OUT OF HELL I ever heard. Great band, great voices. A tribute to the master!
RIP Meatloaf. These guys have made a fitting tribute to your great talent.
Your covers are all brilliant. You play them so respectfully to the original, sometimes better than the original artists play them now!
Gordon Heaney this and since you've been gone are the only ones I really liked from these guys ... they're talented but not always the right performer doing the song
Gordon Heaney I have to agree with that
Awesome
Gary Wilson since you been gone is fantastic
The world lost a musical lyrical GENIUS, Jiim Stienman. You will be missed
Yep, he will be missed,,R.I.P Meat Loaf too
Whoa! Best non-Meat version I've ever heard!
yes but nothing beat meat singing
Non-Meat? You mean vegetarian? ;)
I like the fact that they are sticking to the original song not trying to change it, shows respect for the writer and singer.
If u haven't already seen it, look up the version from Bat Out Of Hell - The Musical, the lead in that, Andrew Polec, does an amazing rendition of it
@@stacyhutchens2373 Absolutely spot on Stacy.
Excellent, I like the two vocalists playing to their strengths. I was ready to say only Meat can do this song but I enjoyed this version.
Japie Duminy , yes but it took two singers to do what Meat could do by himself. Not sure why, other than they’re playing to their strengths alone.
@@doplinger1 But Meatloaf could never do it by himself, either. He needed autotune. Badly.
@@ScrivenerofDoom - I don't believe that for a minute. Where are you getting this information?
@@doplinger1 An interview. Apparently there was only one concert in 1977 or 78 where his voice was able to come close to the produced sound.
@@ScrivenerofDoom - maybe in his later years, but certainly not early on.
R.I.P Jim Steinman... Thank you Jim 🤘🏻 🦇
Most intense performance I've heard in a very long time rips through the soul like a bat out of hell
Still listening this one a few times a week. Just can't get enough. Genius! The people who heard that live are blessed.... So sad the shows are not in the Netherlands 😭
ben het helemaal met jou eens nobby, geen verkeerde coverband
You're not the only one! I saw this live by Meat himself, twelve times in Ireland from 1990 to 2013. This is the ultimate cover song! The passion is there, all of it!
Idd, zou gelijk kaarten kopen iig
Ja zsm de plas over!
Ook ik luister deze opname regelmatig terug. Ben niet van de gemiddelde coverbands maar dit overstijgt zelfs live het origineel. Ook groot fan van Jess Harwood!
This is SO GOOD! love this song 🤘
Indeed it is! Meatloaf and Jim made music that will be remembered for a long long time!
Nice to see you here and know that you appreciate the good old Meat Loaf.
🤘🤘
I love the whole band gonna book to see them next year 👌🙏
MJR! Huge fan of yours, buddy!
That might be the best cover song I have ever heard in my life. EVER. I am floored.
I have watched this video a hundred times and I never get over how great a job you all did. #amazing
*6:07** Wow! Just wow🔥*
Exactly WTF
Mesmerizing!🤣😆👍🍺
I’ve watched this cover many times and still amazes me how good it is ,intact I’d go as far to say it’s as good as the original, very talented musicians
I saw them last night and after seeing live music for nearly 40 years I can honestly say they are some of the best musicians I have seen, every song was note perfect and they had so much energy.
1 of the great rock ballads... deserves this attention! RIP Meatloaf - before his injury there was no one better! - these guys nailed it!
Of all of the covers that I have watched form these folks, this is my favorite. This is an extremely ballsey song to attempt and they did a great job. It isn't just the Meat parts, it is the Steinman parts. In every one of their covers, it is this keyboardist that is invariably spot on. This is great. I love this song and I have since 1977 when my brother brought it home form the record (yes record) store.
Came across this totally by chance - was amazed to find out you're UK based. Booked to see you in Yeovil in late January. Can't wait! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I have never heard a cover band do a Good Meatloaf cover, let alone Bat Out of Hell!! This group is great!!
The more I watch this, the more convinced I become that using two leads for this performance is a style choice rather than a necessity. Ricardo Afonso could undoubtedly do the vocals for this piece without assistance, but the harmonies between him and Alex Dee, as well as the two of them with Emily Jollands, enhance the piece quite a bit.
I will also mention that there was an old MTV interview where it was mentioned that, even in the original recorded version of Bat Out of Hell with Meat Loaf singing, multiple takes were needed because his ability to hit the final high note was 50/50 at best. Meat Loaf's recorded version is a masterpiece, but it was never something that could be consistently delivered.
Also, The Classic Rock Show clearly knows that, when playing Jim Steinman's music, the piano always leads. Not even the more recent iterations of The Neverland Express remembers this, and it detracts from those live performances.
The Classic Rock Show's recording here is nothing short of magnificent.
What makes them THE BEST COVER BAND is they stay true to the original note for note without adding their own spin.
That crowd is not NEARLY as big as it should be.
This is absolutely stunning and the best cover I've ever heard which includes the Bat Out Of Hell Musical version. Hate to correct the lyrics though but as a die-hard Steinmaniac I must say it's: "Then I'm dyin at the bottom of the pit in the blazin sun", not "down at the bottom".
Also it's 'But I gotta get out, I gotta break it out now..." not "So I gotta get out..."
Singing "so" makes absolutely no sense with the line before or after and its fairly significant to the meaning of the song. Meat always performed these songs to bring out all the drama of the lyrics and the difference between that and a technically great but less meaningful performance is pretty big to me. Steinman's songs are mini rock operas, not just rock songs.
its probably not PC
I#M not sure but I think the first time ist says "down" and the second time "dying"
You're right, Jim does choose his words very carefully. So another one is "no one's gonna stop me now, I'm gonna make my escape" not "nothing's gonna stop me now", then "but I can't stop thinking of you " not "And I can't stop thinking of you ". Mind you, there are a lot of lyrics to remember in this song !
To those mentioning word here word there different words who the he'll cares .This song has never been performed better than CR BAND !
Please do Paradise by the Dashboard light
Bloody Nora !!
Ohh yes Please!💖
Jim Steinman an Meatloaf would be proud to hear this
Sadly Jim Steinmen passed away this year on April 19th, he was a brilliant musician and songwriter!!
The chap with the beard has got an amazing voice. So much like Meat Loaf
Steinman was a musical genius and this is possibly the greatest epic rock song ever written. And this was a perfect cover of this.
I refer to Jim as the "Mad Genius". By all accounts he's an odd fellow, but damn, the man can write some great music.
This is so amazing, i´ve listen to this 34 times (or close to) this week. The part from 06:00 is just perfect.
Being a Meatloaf fan all I can say is "WOW"
Best Cover ever done.. Rest my case-:)
"Bat Out Of Hell"
The sirens are screaming and the fires are howling
Way down in the valley tonight.
There's a man in the shadows with a gun in his eye
And a blade shining, oh, so bright.
There's evil in the air and there's thunder in sky,
And a killer's on the bloodshot streets.
Oh, and down in the tunnel where the deadly are rising,
Oh, I swear I saw a young boy down in the gutter,
He was starting to foam in the heat.
Oh, baby, you're the only thing in this whole world,
That's pure and good and right.
And wherever you are and wherever you go,
There's always gonna be some light.
But I gotta get out,
I gotta break it out now,
Before the final crack of dawn.
So we gotta make the most of our one night together.
When it's over you know,
We'll both be so alone.
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes.
When the night is over
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone-gone-gone.
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes.
But when the day is done, and the sun goes down,
And the moonlight's shining through,
Then like a sinner before the gates of heaven,
I'll come crawling on back to you.
I'm gonna hit the highway like a battering ram
On a silver black phantom bike.
When the metal is hot and the engine is hungry,
And we're all about to see the light.
Nothing ever grows in this rotting old hole.
And everything is stunted and lost.
And nothing really rocks
And nothing really rolls
And nothing's ever worth the cost.
And I know that I'm damned if I never get out,
And maybe I'm damned if I do,
But with every other beat I've got left in my heart,
You know I'd rather be damned with you.
Well, if I gotta be damned you know I wanna be damned
Dancing through the night with you.
Well, if I gotta be damned you know I wanna be damned-
Gotta be damned, you know I wanna be damned-
Gotta be damned, you know I wanna be damned
Dancing through the night-
Dancing through the night-
Dancing through the night with you.
When it's over you know
We'll both be so alone.
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes.
When the night is over
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone gone gone.
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes.
But when the day is done and the sun goes down,
And the moonlight's shining through,
Then like a sinner before the gates of heaven,
I'll come crawling on back to you.
Then like a sinner before the gates of heaven,
I'll come crawling on back to you.
I can see myself tearing up the road
Faster than any other boy has ever gone.
And my skin is raw but my soul is ripe.
No one's gonna stop me now,
I'm gonna make my escape.
But I can't stop thinking of you,
And I never see the sudden curve until it's way too late.
And I never see the sudden curve 'til it's way too late.
Then I'm dying at the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun.
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike.
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell.
And the last thing I see is my heart
Still beating,
Breaking out of my body and flying away,
Like a bat out of hell.
Then I'm dying at the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun.
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike.
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell.
And the last thing I see is my heart
Still beating, still beating,
Breaking out of my body and flying away,
Like a bat out of hell.
Like a bat out of hell.
Like a bat out of hell.
Oh, like a bat out of hell!
Like a bat out of hell!
Like a bat out of hell!

RIP Jim Steinman... one of the best songs ever... thanks fore all...
Now RIP Meatloaf. He rode out like the Bat out of Hell, he was to those pearly gates.
One of the finest most amazing performances I've ever seen.
Especially from a Cover Band.
Bravo!!!!!
RUclips can go to hell with putting commercials smack in the middle of legendary songs like this 🤬
What a professional bunch!!!!
Best ever Classic Rock Show - brilliant musicians!
The mere fact that they needed two lead singers to accomplish what meat loaf was capable of doing on his own is a testament to how talented he really was. I'm ashamed my generation doesn't truly recognize the greatness that is meat loaf.
They didn't need to - they opted to. Most of the band members are capable of doing lead vocal.
Yes, just like they "need" two lead singers to do lots of their other songs. Like "Jump", for example. They really needed two singers for that one.
Derek Halko it shows how effortlessly Meat Loaf was able to switch tempos on a dime
+MustBeNoodly
thanks for discounting the scientific fact that music these days is way worse than it was a few decades ago
you must be a real cool guy
What fucking nonsense you are talking. Scientific? Fucking idiot.
Stumbled into this one after watching the original live performance by Meat Loaf on the day of his passing. Wow, just wow. Incredible performance of each single musican. This cover can't be better, so much dedication, I am in awe, best cover ever
Jim Steinman is a genius. I had forgotten how good the bass line in this song is! great cover!!!
This is EPIC ! where can I find this line up of musicians, and singers ? Classic Rock Show now has other members ?? if I check out the latest trailer....Hopefully, someone can give me some more info on this.
Why are they switching between Karl Urban and John Turturro? Urban's got a great voice, but it's obvious Turturro's timbre suits Meat Loaf better.
Your look-alike names are fun! Just to clarify: The real vocalists names are Alex Dee (with beard) and Ricardo Afonso. Aren't they great, great, great?
Wait, that's that guy who sang "Hard To Handle" on the Voice?
Exactly.
Think it works both of them to be honest. Puts a different spin on it. They did a cracking job l actually like this better then the original. ☺
Maybe they've heard Meat Loaf recently and were worried this song might wreck their voices similarly.... so they shared the load between the two of them. :) It works well though!
Thank you Jim Steinman and Meatloaf for giving us this masterpiece.
When these guys do a cover, they do it to the max. Like others have said, Meat Loaf's vocals take some covering; but they did it well. The band are awesome too; not a word I use often.
GREAT job! Brought tears to my eyes. I can still remember so many of my high school classmates bringing this epic album to school (we lent and/or traded albums with friends in the hallways and lunch room) back in the late 70's, when I was a high school student in New Jersey. You could tell which albums were epic just by seeing how many copies were being carried around with text books! R.I.P. Meat Loaf... your music lives on!
Nice to hear old meats old song in new performance. It is good to hear that his legace lives on.
You could play this song in 100 years from now and the kids will STILL LOVE IT! BRILLIANT music never dies. It just keeps getting better. 😁🤣👏👍🍺
Holy shit!!! Gioose bumps!!
Must listen to it MANY times.
Aaaahhhhhhhhhh.....
It took 2 guys to cover Meatloaf’s range. That said, the band and singers did a great job.
It took an entire studio to create Meatloaf's range - and that was in his prime!
Looks like these guys hit the ☼HIGH SCORE☼ on Rock Band™ expert difficulty
Wow, these people are really good. Watched a few of their videos now.
Oh. My. God. Jim Steinman is smiling down from heaven, I'm sure.

Bravo. That was Absolute "Pandamonium". Simply put it was an amazing performance. I am a huge Meatloaf fan, and every time I hear hear his music I get chills. You just me chills. Again Bravo and thank you for that spectacular cover.
As a major Meat Loaf fan from the 70’s, I freaking LOVE this version! They do a great job! I will just say with a wink and a smile that they have two singers to take on the job of the original Meat! 😜
This is the single greatest thing I've ever seen in my whole entire life
When Jess is 3rd pick,YOU KNOW THAT YOU are watching NFL in America or NRL in AUSTRALIA! Absolutely brilliant!!😄😁🤣
The only ten minute song that makes me say: "It's over already?"
This version has ruined me for all others. I even prefer it to Meat's original. There. I said it.
Band is great, singer not so much - obviously he can sing, but he seems uninterested, and a very pale version of the original.
