I loved this movie on several levels: First, most people have no clue what WWI and WWII were like and how much they continued to affect everyone's lives mentally and physically after the wars actually ended. This covers a lot of situations and struggles that really happened. People found ways to cope with and survive hard lives they didn't ask for or deserve. So much was lost on so many levels. The filmography, script, timing, all seemed really great to me. And yes, the AMAZING ACTORS really made this an even more amazing movie.
You can never go wrong with Christian Bale. This man can play any character without seeing him as his other characters he played in the past. This movie gonna be good. Also great cast.

I loved this movie - just finished watching it for the second night in a row, that good. I found the first time I had a hard time following the story... I always felt a step behind understanding what was going on. I think if they added some character name captions on screen as they appear that would have helped a lot (they do it with some random dudes at the end that didn't matter). Such a treasure of a film tho! Historical, rich, comical, lovely.
I am pretty glad Margot Robbie didn't just become a bombshell but is actually getting nice roles where she has a purpose and not just an eye candy. I am looking forward to her performance in this and in Barbie next year!

just watched it, really great movie that is worth rewatching, to understand and appreciate more ! I love the premise of it, in my opinion Robert Denero has killed in this role, I got chills when he gave the speech, not to disvalue the rest of the movie, because it has an amazing story and performances, and as a Swiftie, I loved seeing Mama Swift playing a role that suited her.

Love that scene in which John D. Washington goes, "Get your hands off me." A true cinephile will love the connection of that scene with the other(a soldiers story).

Well, David O'Russell sure knows how to tell the story in the movie language. Enjoyed it all the time. And got informed at the same time too. Didn't know what happened between tvo World Wars in USA, something that could change the history and the life that we have now for worse. Actors are great - Margot Robbie...Christian Bale is awesome.... Highly recomended to watch.
As a Dutchie I must say that when I saw Amsterdam my first thought was 'Oh boy, what did Hollywood make this time?' But this freaking cast in that time period! And this type of directing as well. Little extra proud of Matthias, John David and Rami. Can't wait! 😊

just watched it, really great movie that is worth rewatching, to understand and appreciate more ! I love the premise of it, in my opinion Robert Denero has killed in this role, I got chills when he gave the speech, not to disvalue the rest of the movie, because it has an amazing story and performances, and as a Swiftie, I loved seeing Mama Swift playing a role that suited her.
