i am new to the builder gel and elastic base type of polishes. can we then add whatever kind of polish we would like over this? i am looking for something to give my nails some more strength but i have a gel polish that i love. would this be good to use under the gel polish that i love

No, it’s a base. It’s not hard as builder gel and you can’t build up nail extensions with this product.

You just apply it and to air dry for 10-15 seconds.

would the application technique be the same for *really* short nails? I had to trim mine down after I removed full cover tips incorrectly.

For very short nails I would apply two thin coats of elastic Base. As there is not a lot of room to build up an apex (like I do in the video). That will still strengthen your nails enough to help them grow :)
