Thank you for the Q & A, that is very helpful. I have a question: when using builder gel or rubberized bases, can we use manual sanders (files) instead of electronic ones, or do we need electronic ones like the one you’re using?
Thank you for the video I went to the website that sold sanding bands and all grits are purple. I just want to check what grit you were usingfor removing the gel polish. Thank you again
Wow! I love everything I've learned from watching this. I would like to know what glitter that is. It's gorgeous on top! Also, when you were rubbing the glitter off with whatever brush that was, did you do that after curing it with the base coat under it? I'm just learning to doing my own nails.
Hi sorry for asking, bur i want to use rubber base as base for gel polish. Do i have to make the second, thicker layer, or the one thin layer is enough before putting the first layer of colour? Thank you for your answer.
You can use it just as a base and use one thin layer then go in with your color but if you need a little added strength to your nails then you can do a thicker layer. It's up to you.
Thanks so much for such a thorough set of comments: I’m a DIY newbie who only started with gel over the chicken panini. Haven’t tried MG yet but know I want strength for natural nails so understanding the considerations between rubber base and builders is so helpful!
Ooh! I think I’ll do the idea of making it the barrier/base coat then using a peel off base on top to easily change colors. Do you have suggestions on doing fills with this? Would it work for me to do 2 or 3 fills before removing the whole thing? Do you have any vids of fills with this rubber base?
I love this tutorial! You're the first for me to see the new rubber base gels from Madam Glam, had to run over and check them out And your puppy! He is sooo aforable ❤, cherish this! My chihuahua was just as small and bow he cant fit in my purses anymore! Plus he can lift his doggy toys which he couldnt as a baby 🤣🤣😭😭
Girl, same! I'm a nail tech, mostly work with rubber base. Last thing I wanna do when I get home is my own nails! Still trying to find someone to exchange nail services with!
This one is from MagPie and it is made for nails. I love their glitter so much, it is so pretty. I have found some cosmetic glitters can bleed the color when mixed in gel and these definitely do not do that.
I looked on the future video, but couldn’t find it. I’m curious how long the rubber base lasted without lifting! I have it and have used it before, but I think I need to do better prep with my cuticles because after 1 week it is already lifting! My regular base from madam glam lasts longer than this one!
Hey friend love this thanks for sharing 😘 also what drill is that you are using please I love the handpiece is slim I am shopping for a new efile and want a slim hand piece :)
If you are on the natural nail, yes, base coat. It you are going over an enhancement such as luminary, builder gel, or acrylic then no, you don't need base coat.
You would still use this as a base under builder, right? I just got my rubber base gel today and am debating how I want to do my next fill. Second question: I have been wearing the same 'set' since.....November. I just keep doing fill ins. First it was with polygel, and that has grown out and now it is simply builder gel. Someone said in a comment on a random video I was watching that you shouldn't do that more than 3 times before you remove everything and start over. Is it okay that I just keep filling in? I use thin layers and nothing looks damaged or gross under the nail. Thanks Ginger! Love the glitter and little Swatch
You can use it as you base for your builder gel, keep in mind it will add more thickness that way. You can also just use it to do your fill in and skip the builder all together. As far as soaking off, you really don't need to do that unless you have a problem such as lifting. My most common issue is product separation from the free edge and most if the time it's so minimal that it's taken care of when I shorten my nails. But no, as long as you don't have any lifting there is no need to remove the product.
@@GelsNGemsNails Awesome. Thank you for the reply. I think I will try the rubber base as a fill in next time. I don't let my nails get super long so I think it will be fine. I'm looking forward to trying it :)
I love the color of their rubber base coat, looks great on its own.
Very informative! You answered all my questions about this Madam Glam rubber base. Thank you so much! 💗
You are so welcome!
Swatch is so adorable I love how you are leaving clips at the end:)
Thank you! I love him so much!
Swatch is cute thank for sharing the nails and the pup!

Nope. You can absolutely use just a hand file.

It's a 240 grit
Thanks for sharing. CUTENESS OVERLOAD!! Love little Swatch! He's so curious and confident.

You can definitely do fills with this
Great video on this product ! Thanks for sharing ❤
Thanks for watching!
Those purple file rings ( lol, I forgot the names for them😂🤣🤔) look amazing.
Sanding bands 😉 they are awesome!
@@GelsNGemsNails yes, lol. Thank you
Where do you get the purple ones?
Is builder gel more sturdy or can the rubber base when built up be just as strong but more flexible?
Builder gel is definitely going to be stronger, it's made for building out the nail length. This is more for a short natural nail overlay.
Hey, love your video! Question please, do you put your hands under the uv light after every cot? Thaks
Yes I do!
Lovely swatch

Madam glam sent me over some of these and thankful for this video tutorial!
I need those bands!!! Mine are cheap and sick.
I second that guylene those bands are bomb!! I have seen a few companies with them and need to get me some too!
Hi , what did you use before you popped the glitter on to make it tacky so it sticks ?
Loved the video , good help for a beginner in rubber bases xxx
Base coat, cure then you have the perfect tacky surface
Girl, same! I'm a nail tech, mostly work with rubber base. Last thing I wanna do when I get home is my own nails! Still trying to find someone to exchange nail services with!
Exactly!!
What is the glitter being used?? Is it just plain cosmetic glitter? Or something specially for gel application?
This one is from MagPie and it is made for nails. I love their glitter so much, it is so pretty. I have found some cosmetic glitters can bleed the color when mixed in gel and these definitely do not do that.
Gorgeous mani!
Did you have rubber base on before with the pink polish?
I had on a clear gel, Luminary.
I looked on the future video, but couldn’t find it. I’m curious how long the rubber base lasted without lifting! I have it and have used it before, but I think I need to do better prep with my cuticles because after 1 week it is already lifting! My regular base from madam glam lasts longer than this one!
I usually get 2 to 3 weeks without any issues or lifting. Prep is key
Can we use rubber base in place of builder gel in extensions??
No
Hey friend love this thanks for sharing 😘 also what drill is that you are using please I love the handpiece is slim I am shopping for a new efile and want a slim hand piece :)
Idk what she uses but I absolutely love my melodysusie sparkle efile 😊 very slim and lightweight
It's the Sparkle Pro from MelodySusie
Love watching your videos and love this set tyfs 💖🤎
Do you have to put another base coat for gel polish or you can get straight to it ?
If you are on the natural nail, yes, base coat. It you are going over an enhancement such as luminary, builder gel, or acrylic then no, you don't need base coat.
After filing down any imperfections on either the rubber or builder gel, do you have to reapply the base coat? Or just move on to color?
Whoops- just saw that you put a base on after filing hah! Never mind :)
You do not need a base over the filed product, just move straight to color.
The reason for the base after filing, in this case, is for the glitter to stick. No need for base if just adding color.
what is the correct curing time for rubber base? I got MG recently and had problems with wet gel inside.
60 seconds. If I do a thicker layer I'll do 2 mins. Also make sure you lamp is sufficient for the product
What an absolute cutie. Good tips
Did you cure your nails before adding the glitter?
yes

@@GelsNGemsNails thank u!💗
Do you cure between the two coats? how long?
Yes. You always cure between every coat with gel! Usually 30 to 60 sec.
