fun fact: DoG used to feast on the world but because it grew hungry as it grows it will now mainly feeds on gods and if eaten more and more maybe it will devourer the whole multiverse?
I wanted Eater of Worlds and Destroyer to destroy blocks on For The Worthy seed so much... Quite sad that it's not implemented. Would suit the seed perfectly. Also both bosses would benefit from it a lot because the fight becomes so much harder.
I think maybe a better way to implement this is to have the eow and the destroyer temporarily actuate blocks instead of destroying them, so then the damage wouldn't be as severe. Maybe have the blocks un-actuate after a certain amount of time or after defeating the boss? That way the challenge of them destroying ground would still be there, but it wouldn't be downright broken.

Okay, so this is actually a feature I've thought would be cool to have. Namely, bosses that can destroy terrain. This would naturally come with a new NPC, the Architect, who automatically restores terrain back to its original state. Hence, terrain destroyed in this way wouldn't drop materials. Some weapons might also destroy terrain, and you could toggle it to have the Architect rebuild that terrain, but if you toggle it off, then that terrain will drop materials and won't be rebuilt. Terrain mined with tools like a pickaxe bypass the Architect automatically, dropping materials and never getting rebuilt.
@@angelvaldes8421 Basically. It's a way to have cool boss fights where the terrain is getting torn up, which makes it feel more epic and impactful. At the same time, it's just not fun to have your base get destroyed and have to rebuild it yourself. That's why I've always hated creepers in Minecraft. These are games where building is a central focus to the game, so it's antithetical to have permanent building destruction. Some games are specifically designed with the idea in mind that your base can be destroyed and you need to protect it, but Terraria is not. Having a destroyed base get rebuilt automatically solves that issue.
@@angelvaldes8421 Basically? How I'd probably implement it is to have the NPC repair the terrain gradually over time, e.g. at a rate of X blocks per minute (maybe even being on-site and physically rebuilding things like a player would, or maybe they'd have some kind of helpers that would do the actual rebuilding), and you could pay them a few coins to instantly rebuild everything.
The eater of worlds is about 80 tiles long, The destroyer, 140 (From screenshots I’ve taken) Or, 80-120 m respectively That’s a lot of the world destroyed at once
If this was an actual thing in vanilla Terraria it would not only probably lag a couple of people who have potatos for devices but it would most importantly probably cause absolute chaos to anyone's worlds
1:10 genuinely terrifying Why isn’t this in the ga- oh... 2:50 Disable random spawning and add a giant tooltip warning: Eats your world, don’t use near your house Or something similar
Honestly since for the worthy Skeletron bombs can destroy the train I think in a mod that adds a difficulty meant to be worse or harder than for the Worthy they should make it so the Destroyer can destroy any material
Perfect for hardmode V containment. But need enough defense and ability to make him mine and lure him down those specific diagonal paths before fighting him in mid air in the sky biome just make sure he does not despawn there.
I feel like this would be a whole lot better if only the head segment could destroy blocks, since they make loops that destroy massive areas.
wouldn't that mean head thicc but body thin?
fun fact: DoG used to feast on the world but because it grew hungry as it grows it will now mainly feeds on gods and if eaten more and more maybe it will devourer the whole multiverse?
Well, there was a cut Superboss version of the Devourer called "The Devourer of Universes". So you're not that far off.

eow destroys its own house and despawns because it also destroyed the biome
@@soulknight5190 Maybe, but for me it just adds an extra spice to an already crazy seed.
@@antonovsiannikov4547 if so, then they would make it a bit less destructive, because this is a bit overkill

Ah yes, the unintentionally strongest pickaxe. Yet, can't destroy blocks under a filled chest.
Now imagine building a 5 month build just for your 5 year old to summon Destroyer with the mod

so basically cartoon treatment? everything gets destroyed, yet the next episode everything is restored like nothing happened 🤔

This is what I thought would happen as a kid! I barely played the game but hearing about the eater of worlds from friends terrified me.
I think the worms' block breaking power is based on your pickaxe power.
That a good theory, but it doesn’t explain why it can’t break ash blocks but it can break obsidian.
@@noeschaeffer2167 Ash blocks are janky, with some mods they fall, with some mods they stay vanilla, and with other mods you can't mine them
If anything, the fact that this mod makes the ash blocks unmineable by worms makes it seem even more so that worms operate via pickaxe power

Sounds like a perfect addition to a new difficulty seed
That looks pretty funny, but i have actually never touched mods yet, because i want to do a full vanilla playthrough first

Wow, he can now actually be the "Destroyer of Worlds"

now the destroyer can be quite useful for building underground boss arenas and farms
Now you REALLY don't want to hit the wrong lunatic cultist and summon the phantasmal dragon
1:10 genuinely terrifying
Why isn’t this in the ga- oh...

Disable random spawning and add a giant tooltip warning:
Eats your world, don’t use near your house
Or something similar

Now THIS is what I want to see.
Super good arena building friends!
A good way to destroy the unwanted buildings. Can't imagine wasting my time destorying my big projects Wich already took me a lot of time.....
honestly i would kind of like to see this in game, but perhaps only the head segment.
it would really make the destroyer live up to its name
Need to clear out an entire Terraria world? Just set loose some of these worms on it
Now I know why the dev didn't want to make bosses break blocks it's because it literally destroys your build and it causes lag
Now Eater of world really eats the world
Hey
If this was a real mechanic I would forget immediately and accidentally kill my house.
Why eradictator
If skeletron prime can destroy tiles in for the worthy then why not the destroyer

It would be funny if that mechanic existed in calamity
The cost is beautiful worm art.

Soooo… basically just more accurate worm bosses
*Skeletron prime for the worthy flasbacks*
Best thing worms destroying blocks *remerbers me of some Kind of mage called noita*
If Worm boss could destroy the block, well your creation is ruin
Now, destroyer is real "destroyer"...
Maybe they could destroy only specific blocks to cause less chaos in the world
It really is the Eater of Worlds
Wow, you destroyed that poor place
I just think they should temporarily disapear instead of vanishing forever
So the Eater of Worlds is eating worlds now huh
Beans are unbreakable though, we will be unaffected.
That would be my worst nightmare
Its funny that the health bar is like the health bar in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
It would be a good arena-building mechanic
