  • I have had the blessing of having 5 of my Grand-children for summer vacation; four of those Grand-children headed home today, but before they left, I took a short walk with each one of them individually to an area on the ranch of their choice... seems they chose the areas they had worked the hardest in.
We had some short heart to hearts, and recognized their efforts and some of the lessons they had learned.
Chyanne was not leaving today .. and just chose the area outside her bedroom where many of the birds hang out during the day.. and of course .. she had to be holding a turkey.
Big Ryland chose the Poultry Parlor ... his video was cut short by technical error but he was proud of the work he had done in there.
Little Ryland chose the orchard where he had spent many hours weeding around the fruit trees and sure enough .. his little wild friend the horned toad came to say goodbye ( it has shown up for him no matter where he is working in the orchard.) Juri has spent a lot of time with the cattle in the corral and barn so we headed out that way for his goodbyes. Levi painted the entire addition to the barn by himself .. so as I expected ... we headed to that part of the yard.. after taking some time out on the porch.
These kids have given 110% helping me out this summer we accomplished in a month what would have taken me 6 months without them.
And then there was my Addie who came with them because she understood that even though I needed the help .. working with 5 kids alone, would have worn me to a frazzle ( I usually only have one Grand-child at a time for the summer )
I am BLESSED .. and give thanks every day for my Blessings.
Summer is not over .. Chyanne is still with me; and these boys will return for a few more long weekends before school resumes.

Teresa, what a windy and wild life you lead out there! You already said it - you are so lucky to have such a wonderful, loving family to help out around there. I was so happy to hear that Chyanne isn't leaving for now. Somehow, to me she belongs there. You will be sad and relieved to have a quiet house for a while. Nice to have more visits to look forward to!

I am so enjoying your uploads. You are gifting your grandchildren with wisdom no book can teach. This video is special. We share many similar interests in animals and huabandry skills. So far the little chick I have is still hanging in there. I splinted his leg and made him a shoe out of a cereal box to straighten his toes. I also read you have a newsletter...I would like to subscribe if you would accept a check. Thank you!
