I really enjoyed the fly pour-on. I physically flinched away from the computer when I first saw all those flies …yech. I have a good cow horse, and she’s all business when it’s time to turn the cattle. We don’t do it much anymore because we are both old mares-not put out to pasture, but close. Thanks for the video.❤
Wow, the fly pressure must have exploded after that stretch of rain. They weren't much of a problem earlier in the summer I thought. And you took care of it with this pour. Good looking cattle.
Wow and wow. Fantastic video Cole and Brian. I am amazed at what you and dad accomplished in one day. Outstanding teamwork as father and son, really PROUD to know you both!!!!! You and dad are excellent herdsmen!!!! You got those cattle through the water and meant them on the other side and got them corralled-fantastic herding if I dare say so!!!! Congratulations on doing that. You both treated those cows and calves in not ideal conditions and got it done-yeah!!!! I could see the flies in the video on the cattle and flying around in the air. Thanks for getting them treated. You folks take excellent care of your herd!!!!!!!!!!!! The new grain bin is looking great. Your local dealer is taking great care of you. Nice to deal with local people. Makes a difference!!!! They will have that bin ready to go soon. Looks great next to the other one. Fill it up!!!!!!!!! Saw Sonny supervising there. He likes being out with both of you. That new tractor with front wheel drive really works good in those ditches. The new tractor has a good sound to it-bellows’s!!!!!! Guess that is about it. I really admire you both for your work ethic and the teamwork you both exhibit!!!!!! The day you showed today on the video reflects the wonderful relationship you both have as father and son-proud to know you both. I am not afraid to admit my son and I just don’t jell together like you folks display. You are great examples of a father-son farming operation!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for everything. You both take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve. 😊😊👍✅💕🇺🇸🇺🇸
I’m adding cow mind reader to the list of the many skills you have. “That was unpleasant and the cows would agree”. Thank you for another great video and making me laugh too!
Does anyone remember the Erector Sets that were popular kids gifts in the 60's?. I think of them every time I see a new bin go up around our farm. We may get older but our toys don't change much. They just get bigger. Ive come to believe that bin storage on your farm is one of the few things where you can have some financial control on haywire grain prices. Bravo on the huge addition to your home fatm. Now pray for $7 corn!
Congrats on new grain bin…definite sign of successful growth. With the watering stations, feed storage, improved drainage, upgrade feed bunks and corral system - it’s been busy for sure. With the kiddo coming soon, things about to get busier and more exciting. Pulling for y’all to have a great harvest.
Great video, as usual. I guess you and Brian can be called the "Freshwater Cowboys" now since you almost got to go for a swim with the cows while corraling them. I was really interested in the new grain bin, and being a "city girl" always wondered how those big silos were built. Unfortunately, y'all were busy farmin' and didn't get to show the actual "raising" so I googled it to watch. Very interesting process and now y'all have lots more grain storage for your expanded herd and for the ethanol plant. Thanks for including all of your viewers in your day of farming. - Susan in AZ
It's great to be able to build with local contractors. Such personal service. Wow!! That's still quite the pasture puddle!! I imagine we don't see everything that goes on but you really know how to round up your cattle, you guys are really good at it. I'm impressed.
It is amazing what you and Brian can do in a day. Great cause for teamwork. You two really make it work. It is a joy to watch you guys do it. Pretty dang smooth fellas. Thanks again for great information and entertainment. I think I'm needin a steak about now.; LOL Blessings to all the Sonne family.
I know you don't share the full experience of dealing with that many cows, but you two have a routine that makes it look easy.---Fascinating, seeing how those bins are put together!
Hi to all three of you guys from Indiana, I remember when I was a kid I helped build one of my uncle grain bin I put on the stuff that that seals at the end of each sheet of metal put bolts on to that was alot of fun to do I love that job
You said that’ll be real nice you don’t have to cut them off and feed the cattle but it’ll be real nice and clean it up and all the springs are wrapped around the beaters on the spreader😊😊
I'm glad that you fellows got some decent rain his year, we are in a very dry condition in my area. Pastures and the hay fields are really suffering, no rain in almost a month! Congrats on getting the new bin up, now for the rest of the inside. Have a good evening!
Better to cut the twine off or u will have oodles of fun getting it out of the manure spreader beaters next spring plus it will get really tangled in tillage/planting equipment!
Boy brings back memories of rounding up our milking cows on wrong side of water. Our property adjoined flood control and it never failed when it rained they were on wrong side. Always my job to get lead cow and swim her across so others would follow. Do I miss it you bet. Good job fellas!
We used palace builders for our shop by salem. Really good luck with them. Especially since 2/3 of it got rebuilt twice, since it was finished a week before the derecho 2 years ago.
GREAT ONE use too help build them brock bins out of h-s we hand cranked them on outside of bin tri pod deal now i'am 60 young mans game kept us in very good shape
There was one cow that must have been a fly fan favorite because it was covered in a fly carpet from neck to butt. If anything is a relief to those animals it's got to be the pours. They of course have no clue what just happened, but they sure as hell know life was better after going thru the weird green thing than before!
Good afternoon gentlemen great job today on the hay. Glad you were able to get it up and working them cattle that first go round did look like a bugger for sure. That is a sharp looking green bin. That will be nice to have it ready to get filled come harvest time, congrats
Congratulations on your new bin has to make you feel good 👍 and looks like you have some ocean 🌊 front property . And congratulations 🍾🎉🎈 on being a father .
Brian & Cole. For herd fly control, have you considered Cow Sprayer Automated Fly Control System. They appear to work well in keeping fly numbers to a minimum and saving you valuable time too.
Good Cattles git in that corral !!

Now you have the Twin Towers of Sonne Farms.

Looking good! It's great you support local!!
Glad your bin went up safe and straight. You'll make good use of it I'm sure. Bet you've seen a lot of changes on that farm. Progress is progress.

You need to put some float's on your 4 wheelers & herd them cows like the Kilchers herd theirs up in Alaska
I'm glad that you fellows got some decent rain his year, we are in a very dry condition in my area. Pastures and the hay fields are really suffering, no rain in almost a month! Congrats on getting the new bin up, now for the rest of the inside. Have a good evening!

Didnt take it off once. Never again. What a pain to cut off the beaters shaft!

Looking good, always something to do on a farm. Like the working chutes.
That one was doing a moon walk out of the shoot !

Very realistic operation, a few weeds that need mowing, but working with cattle for their best life.
yes we are a little understaffed
Congratulations on your new bin has to make you feel good 👍 and looks like you have some ocean 🌊 front property . And congratulations 🍾🎉🎈 on being a father .
A calf leaving the crush backwards is so familiar......... Always amazed how they are able to do it.

Cole you would make a wonderful VET 🙏💕 that one calf doing the moonwalk lol
Seems like the Flys are extra thick this year
Brian & Cole. For herd fly control, have you considered Cow Sprayer Automated Fly Control System. They appear to work well in keeping fly numbers to a minimum and saving you valuable time too.
