THIS WORKS!!!! I’ve been treating my hair with henna for the past 5 months , along with a protective style under wigs , liquid biotin supplement and my hair has transformed , I’ve never had hair this strong. The shedding / fall has reduced , thickness increased and my length has been retained . 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Cassia does the same thing but without the red tint. It has a yellow tinge to it that fades out fast and isn't noticeable on anyone but blondes anyway.
Thanks Ms. Malika. Eva will not get in front of the camera without me there. Smh. She's still natural though and has become quite the expert on flat twists. I'll update as soon as I can get her on camera :-)
That's because I washed it out late at night and had to film with incandescent indoor lighting that's much warmer than daylight and has an orange hue to it. Initially I was using day light and you can see my true hair color especially at the very beginning when it's still in twists. Post-rinsed was filmed using artificial light which tints my hair. This mix henna did not highlight my hair. It's just bad lighting. My hair has darkened because I'm using brahmi/amla (with fenugreek) a lot.
I think the henna would leave your hair feeling too hard to leave in. I’ve used henna several times before. It can be drying. Using the fenugreek would probably be ok. I just started using it in my oils for growth.
What do you mean when you say for leave in conditioner? Like leave it on the hair without rinsing? I don't think that's possible in the raw powder form as I use it but I can see how it could be one of the ingredients in an advanced formulated leave in conditioner. T. Michelle is right, henna behaves like a protein on our hair, that's why it recommended to do a moisturizing deep conditioner after henna treatments. Fenugreek is one of my all time favorite powders but in large quantities I have found it to also be drying. I always mix with yogurt and/or aloe vera juice for a nice easy conditioning mix. You could add an oil or use an herbal tea to mix. Options are endless there. Hope that helps :)
I'm scared because my hair gets extremely dry and hard as a rock when trying things..it loves grapeseed oil shea butter olive oil and vaseline 🤫 therefore is there a need to even try it...
@@madee.6831 thanks I have psoriasis and everything irritates my scalp too especially oils like tea tree peppermint and even castor my scalp hates them coconut too lolol
I just rinse it out with plain warm water, no shampoo. Sometimes I will spray my hair with a moisturizing conditioner that has been diluted with aloe vera juice to bring some softness back if needed
Hey lady!! Two things. Why did you use two conditioners and could you leave them separate and put the conditioner on first and the henna on after? And wow your hair is growing back In fast and nice.
I used two conditioners because I am extra! Haha! You can definitely use one and it's enough. I think mixing them and leaving it overnight helps the two products blend in with each other and it's a lot easier to apply. Technically you can do conditioner first then henna but in that case the hair would already be saturated with the conditioner so the henna might not really get as much contact with the hair strands. Mixing them means you get the best of both simultaneously. I could be wrong but that's just my $0.02
I don't like the idea of "should" because it implies there's a right and wrong way to go about these mixes. My videos are meant to serve as inspiration and I'm all for everyone doing what they feel works for their hair and style. Mixing with hot water works for me (and I don't feel I'm scorching the henna) based on trial and error of other methods. I appreciate the suggestion because iron truly does sharpen iron but I think there's room for more than one idea. If warm water works for you it's wonderful....more inspiration and ideas for others to try out. There is no wrong or right. It's all very subjective in my opinion.
@duchessgabrielle Is it nessecarybthat you add the henna mixture with a deep conditioner? Can you tell me more about that. I am not looking for the dye effects, I am mainly just looking for the strengthen and conditioning effects.
For the purpose of strengthening and conditioning, its recommended to mix it with your deep conditioner. For the purpose of dyeing your hair, use lemon or apple cider vinegar for the dye to be released. Hope this helps. 🤗🇹🇹😊
I love Lis Noir Skincare Henna Conditioner, on Etsy. it’s made for you when ordered and it tints with every use. My hair is so much softer and the color is richer. I am always pressed for time and I can use it as a conditioner when needed. Henna is great!
YrDARKSKINbestie , no, there is no black henna. Actually the black henna in the market has been said to be possibly harmful. Please do your research. If you want to retain the black color of your hair, consider using henna in conjunction with INDIGO. Both are natural. Or, Use CASSIA. It has the same henna benefits as henna only that henna benefits are more long term than Cassia. Please look it up. HTH
I’ll have to try those conditioners my glosses never mix that easy! Ugh lol I use the same henna and leave mine overnight in the fridge but I never see a huge color change. I just prepared a mask last night specifically and it’s still green 😭 what do you think I did wrong?
Yes it's true. Please don't put it in the fridge as that really slows down the dye and you may not get the color results at all. Keep it at room temperature and ideally good henna only needs to sit out for dye release for 3-4 hours max these more recent crops. Older henna crops or brands may vary.
@duchessGabrielle how can I reverse henna damage? It changed my curl pattern & I have cut off my hair & the new hair is growing back the same. Any suggestion?
The henna bonds to your hair like protein. It makes it stronger and could weigh down or elongate your curls. However the more you manipulate your hair it becomes stripped a tiny bit of the henna and its own proteins. If you're washing once weekly you should see your curl start to return in about 8 weeks. Next henna treatment, don't leave the henna in as long
You can also add amla powder to your henna to maintain your curl pattern. Add aloe vera powder for absolutely sure, because you need that balance and moisture.
Ann Myst has a video on it. She goes over different brands and how it affects curl pattern so pick accordingly. However... she noticed that henna mixes with aloe Vera were more lightweight on curls. I don’t know how to reverse though ☹️
That depends on how your hair responds to silicones. Some people swear by them and others like me will not touch silicon-based conditioners with a 10 foot pole. Also, I don't shampoo my hair after this treatment but some heavier silicones require a surfactant (like the sulfates) to wash off while others are water soluble and can easily rinse off. So it really does depend on the kind of silicone, how your hair responds to it and how you plan on caring for your hair after (whether you'll shampoo or condition afterwards)
It depends on the color of hair you start with. It will only add highlights to black or dark brown hair. If you want to dye dark brown I would use henna and then follow up with indigo right after. I haven't come across a natural dye that will turn hair dark black. Continuous use of amla darkened my hair significantly though. I hope that helps
It clings better if you start with dry hair, in my opinion. I prep overnight with an oil, apply the henna and leave for a few hours in the morning, rinse and /or deep condition. You can wash your hair with shampoo a few days later if you like.
I wanna try henna again but I’m super scared. The first time i used it was terrible. Not sure where I went wrong but it was so hard and was breaking 😩😩😩 maybe I’ll do the gloss tho. I didn’t do that when I tried.
Sandi F I experienced the same thing when I was doing straight henna treatments. I now do henna glosses followed by a deep conditioning treatment and I've not had dryness or breakage. Adding oils is good as well.
You've gotten some really good ideas here. I'll just add that if your hair is having a strong negative reaction to henna I would assume you don't need quite as much of it as the rest of us. Try a loose table spoon in your normal conditioner mix and see how you like it. Your hair just might need very little of henna to get the benefits

Difference between henna and henna gloss?
A henna gloss treatment is more of a conditioning treatment whereas a full henna paste treatment is more so for color focus and deposit.
Also a full on henna mask is to really strengthen the hair
