In India, we'd add an egg and some curd/yoghurt. We add that in the morning about half an hour before applying. Also, adding a few drops of lemon juice can give a reddish tint. Additionally, henna moisturises the scalp. It reduces split ends by conditioning the strand. And should you be willing to go through the pain of mixing and applying it every month, then it will help cure damage and dryness. Henna on its own can be very drying. I have been using henna on my hair since I was 14. I am 38 this year.
Yes I use egg and lemon juice as well! My hair looks better than my daughters that only uses the water etc. she has began using eggs and lemon juice now! We have been doing it for a year my hair has grown and feels so wonderful! Your friend in Oakland Ca
Hi I have jet black hair, and I am a bit skeptical about the henna (nupur 100% henna 9 herbs) turning my hair brown? How can I make sure I keep my hair color ?
@@jarell51 Hi, jet black hair doesn't turn brown. It will just make your hair shinier and more visibly healthy. May be, with prolonged use, say 2 or more years, your greys might start looking brownish. That's all.
What I’ve learnt from my experience of hennaing my hair for the past few years- (Disclaimer: my opinions are my own and I am not suggesting by any means that you will experience the same aspects while going through the process) * any henna I use gives me a good tint only if I let the paste cure in a stainless steel utensil. I’ve read plastic is porous and will absorb a good amount of the dye and cast iron though comes highly recommended, doesn’t really do anything for me by toning down the tint. * adding moisturising agents such as honey and oils will only deter the henna from staining your hair. So if it’s color you’re mainly looking for, then your safest bet is to mix the henna with just plain room temperature water or add a dash of lemon juice. Yes your hair will feel coarse after you rinse out the henna but this can be undone by doing a deep conditioning treatment with your favourite store bought deep conditioner. If anything, your hair will only turn out silkier after this.
This was so very helpful!! I followed everything you did except I add hibiscus flowers to the tea to help give my hair more of reddish tint and for the added benefits. I also added aloe vera powder to the henna. This was my first deep henna treatment (the rest have been glosses) and I couldn't be more pleased! Thank you!!
I understand what you're saying about henna being permanent because i only did a henna treatment once and that was over a year and a half ago and I still have the reddish brown tint in my hair
I would like my mom to try this to thicken her hair, but her hair is gray. I know she doesn't want it to change color. Will Cassie be good for her? Thanks
Will indigo help with the not staining the hair or not getting any benefits at all from the henna? I only want to use henna for hair growth without the color change.
I wish I would have watched this an hour ago. I’m sitting with my first henna on my head, waiting to rinse in a couple hours. It was SO hard to apply. I feel like I was just slapping it on and I couldn’t get it distributed well. I will try your technique next time!
Really enjoyed this video, and everyone's comments! I am doing it for the first time this weekend and wondered if I should do an allergy test? If so, should i put it on my skin and on my hair? Thanks- really appreciate anyone's feedback!
I did this today and made so many mistakes lols first being I didn’t let the henna sit for hours! And I had it on for 20 minutes max! What a waste. I’ll be following this video step for step next time thank you! X
I love how you do your turban. I love how neatly you made everything. I love this tutorial. Watching this video was a very nice experience because of how perfectly you did everything. Thank you so much.
Subscribed! Great video. Thank you for the tips, and I hope when I do the big lock chop by the end of this month - today is 24/04/2020, my hair will be just like yours 🤣🤣 only joking lol, but seriously thank you, and I am doing the big chop, I’m starting my natural hair journey with some actual hair knowledge from some beautiful sisters here on RUclips including yourself and I appreciate it to the fullest. Bless up, and big up yourself ❤️❤️ and how can I forget to mention, how lush is your hair 😍😍😍
Raven000 once henna dries it doesn't release any color so u have to keep it moist to get a darker shade .when I apply on my hands I try to keep it for as long as possible to get a dark burgundy color n to keep it moist u apply a mix of lemon juice n sugar (beaten tog)though can catch a cold so keep drinking hot water tea coffee n try applying in the day when the sun is out so less chance of getting a cold ..though u can also avoid that by keeping yourself warm .Hope that helps❣️
Will this help make my gray hairs darker? I dint really like being young and have gray hairs so I’m trying to find natural ways to color it. Also will this help my brittle hair? It sheds a lot due to a scalp condition.
My question for you is; If you are located in Great Britain does it get extremely warm or a warmer than 70° during the summer and spring because most people that use coconut oil whose hair has no problem accepting it and the hair thrives, is because they live in warmer climates. However for those of us who live in cooler climates especially two seasons out of the year coconut has a tendency to get really crispy in the hair. Before instance; a lot of us who have really worked hard at attaining a certain length or look with our hair. Prefers to show their hair off. So that is to say using oils and henna if you have a certain hair type such as porosity density coarseness length even, depending on the hemisphere in which you live oils such as coconut can be a huge setback. You show that you've been using henna for a while what would you recommend just for a general statement for people with course shoulder length (in the back ) ( kinky bangs- high porosity ) curly(sides&back)-kinky(crown) dense low porosity hair that is protein sensitive? Should oil be added at all to the henna? Should we divide the hair and treat it differently. Should I just use a gloss, or decondition ? I.have a question what if you dont want the color of your hair to change I personally have black hair which I'm ok with I would use this to moisture and growth how to use recommend i use it
I just subscribed. I tried henna once before. I used the Vatika brand. The brand that you use, is there a way to get a really dark black hair color? My hair is naturally black so I wouldn’t want to use something that’ll make it a dark brown, you know what I mean?
Use indigo in the henna so it doesn't stain. If you leave it on no more than 2 hours you still get the same benefit with no staining. Indigo is a jet black powder that you can get at an Africian or Indian local store or online. It's natural.
Nicole Vassell yea there’s quite a few RUclipsrs with type 4 hair that have tried it and it’s made their hair stronger and helped it grow. I think pretty universally it is good for thickening and strengthening your hair strands, so I say give it a go 🤷🏽♀️😁
Have you tried using a fat instead of oils? I find oils to be very drying to my skin and hair so I use fats - bonus are the vitamins in the fat. Beef fat, butter, egg yolks etc..
Wow I didn’t know about the henna and bleached hair information that you just gave smh I wonder how long after you bleached your hair will it be ok to use henna ? I’m trying to restore my hair from really bad heat damage. And my hair was bleached a year before I straightened it but somehow now I have heat damage 😩😩😩😩😩 idk what to do
I have got a packet of black henna and I've never used It because I'm scared that my hair will turn red. I only want my curls to keep being black and healthier, do you recommend me to try It out?

I can relate .. Henna started being effective in my hair the moment I stopped mixing henna with oil and honey or any other thing
It will be very effective if you add aloe powder and will give you the moisture boost

@@christianjoy1624 Hi! The best thing I appreciate about the henna is that I have fine hair and it is making it thicker.
Oh great that’s what I was worried about lol I also have fine hair and want to thicken it. Thank you for getting back to me(:

This is the most informative video about Henna on youtube. Thank you very much.

Does Cassia make your hair grow and thick like henna?

It's natural, a plant, so use it as often as you like I would guess. But it sticks around for weeks so you don't need to use it more often than that
