Hey sis I just did a full henna and indigo treatment today. I love the color payoff just not all the time it takes. It always takes time for me to get motivated to do this process because it's an all day situation.
Isn’t the color payoff bomb!!! And, i agree the time it takes kinda sucks but i’ve learned to enjoy the process 😂 plus i feel like I’m doing something extra special for myself since its natural 🤣
I want to use henna again but I want to make this process a one step process mixing henna and indigo. Have you tried did that? I will use aloe vera powder for a moisturizer, etc. A while back I used only henna for color ...now stubborn grays (or whites) need help.
@@sweett2459 I have tried one step on my mom's grey hair her whole hair was orange she only used henna, after doing 50/50 henna and indigo it's a beautiful light brown colour
Thank you for the info. I will try it the way you did with a 2 step process. I have tried henna before with just a one step process & it did not cover my grey hairs after leaving the mixture in for 3 hours. It could have been the henna product I used.
Out of all the videos I've watched you had the best results... I'm definitely going to try this out... I'm so glad I stumbled upon your page will be subscribing...
Just found your channel today and I love it! I've been making my own face cream for years and I'm ready to learn about body butters, the henna hair dye, and more!
Your hair turned out great ! Are you using a shampoo conditioner after the indigo or just water ? If so can you please tell me what kind to use. My grey hair reappeared like it didn’t stick when I used my twisting butte a couple days later.
I tried henna and indigo today for the first time. I let the henna release for about 6 hours and then I mixed the indigo in the henna after letting it sit for just 20 minutes. I left them on for 2 hours and I still can see my gray although not as much. Next time I will let it sit for at least 3 hours
@@s.c4146 Good morning you add the salt to the indigo. Also if you really stubborn greys add 2tbsp of salt and let the indigo sit for 4-5hrs. Deep condition with a moisturizing deep conditioner like shea moisture Manuka and before and honey deep conditioner.
I noticed you used Henna Sooq products in the video but the links are to different products. Have you used the ones you linked before?…Thank you so much for the useful tips in the video and actually showing your results! Looks great.
Great video, I've been doing henna/indigo on my locs for many years and my greys are at the front and are very very stubborn, lol. So I have to do the 2 step method.
I will detail my process, I use warm coconut milk and I mix the henna in an iron vessel. The iron vessel makes the henna more dark instead of red/orange. Coconut milk also gives you almost instant dye release (got this gem from a blog years ago, it was a happy accident discovered when experimenting). I add amla to the mix and for moisture aloe vera powder with a little oil. Once the dye releases, I add indigo. I usually mix it first, but I just saw someone add it directly to the henna mix and cover it for 15 minutes, so I'm going to try this method. I leave the mix on for 4-6 hrs depending on the time of day. I rinse until the water is clear, then I rinse again with a dilution of conditioner and water. For the 2nd step, it's indigo mixed with warm water, salt and aloe vera powder. You can actually apply it to your hair without waiting for the dye release because the colour will release on your hair. I leave this on as long as I'm able, sometimes more than 6 hrs (because, I have very stubborn greys) and it also depends on the quality of the indigo. I rinse until the water is clear, I sometimes use exfoliating gloves to ensure all the powder is off my scalp. I learned a lot from hennasooq and also Indian women because they've been doing Ayurveda for centuries. Hope this helps
Hi! My grays stayed covered for about 6 to 8 weeks before i started to any fading or new little gray hair pop up around my edges. But over the rest of my hair has maintained the color and i just recently did a touch up just on my edges. 😊 Thank you for watching!

I love your video. I've used henna and indigo before but I did it all at once. I think I will get better results the way you did it here. Did you wait or dry your hair before applying the indigo or did you apply right after the henna? Can you do it on separate days? I know it's a long process and I have 3 crazy kids so I have to manage my time before I start this myself. Thank you in advance 😊
Hi! I did it on the same day in this video and let my hair dry in between applications (my hair actually dries quick lol) I’ve also waited a day or two and it still worked great, yes its a long process but so worth it to me. I probably wouldn’t wait longer than 3 days though 😁
Madeline, you can still use your method, just add the 2nd step of applying indigo. If you have stubborn greys, this method works best. So basically the first step will darken the henna with the indigo and the 2nd step of just indigo will hopefully give you dark black.
Hello Renee, pls the apple cider vinegar you added to the henna dye, did you warm up in the microwave? Or did you just pour out straight from the bottle?
Hi! Henna is a permanent plant dye and over time the color will start to fade. It's very vibrant for about 6 weeks and you only have to touch up the gray new growth with henna and indigo after that time unless you just want to completely color all of your hair again but for me it hasn't been necessary. Thanks for commenting and for watching!
Hi Regina! I did get the results i wanted with henna I’m learning that i have to moisture my hair about every 2 to 3 days with a butter cream or by putting a light oil on my scalp but so far i love how my hair has reacted to henna its much stronger and i have seen a good amount of growth 😊
Why did you add ACV instead of water? ACVinegar will itch your scalp even more. I add water to henna, it releases the colour well, then I soak it overnight. Next morning I add water to indigo powder, let it soak 30minutes--1hour. Then combine the two, henna mixture + indigo mixture, mix well. Colour. I like the dark hair colour.
Can you please give us information regarding what type of Aloe powder you used & where you can purchase all of the products you used in this video? Thank You

@@Amatullah.574 In order to get the most benefits from the herbs, the hair needs to washed/clarified of any buildup. Apply the henna, cover and let it sit for however long you’re going to. Then rinse it and do a couple of conditioner applications and rinses as well to get most of the henna out and your hair rinses mostly clear. If you’re concerned about tangles, then I recommend detangling and loose twisting the section prior to washing. You won’t be able to detangle with the henna because it’s going to clump your curls together. You could also detangle afterwards while you’re conditioning, but it’ll be easier to apply the henna to the roots on mostly detangled hair.
