Very nice shade. Henna is best for hair but can have a drying effect. We Indians use henna as well but our preparation is different and also we do not wash with shampoo or soap to remove henna. Only water and then after drying, we do a very heavy oiling to moisturize the hair. Then next day we wash normally with shampoo.
I mixed henna with a small amount of aloe powder or with warm thin consistency flax seed gel. It makes it less drying and doesn’t effect the dye release. I have a lot of gray and it colors just fine. Just something I’ve been playing around with. I think I will try the oil method after that you mentioned. Thank you.
@@TracyD2 Usually henna has a drying effect on the hair, but after henna, it is recommended to wash thoroughly with water only. After drying, then apply a heavy oiling and it seals the color and moisturizes the hair. The next day, you do a normal hair wash. We Indians love oil a lot :)
I tried this yesterday, and you are right, it does take all day but it worked! It covered my grey hair and looks great! My hair is naturally dark brown with some grey on my crown and forehead. Thanks for trying it out. That helped me to get info.Did you loose any hair by trying this? And how much time did you keep it on hair for to last 6 weeks?
@@mownikanerusu1206 Hi! I didn't loose hair any more than what I already have been (going through menopause so I was already loosing hair before I started this). I kept the Henna/Indigo mixture on my hair for 5 hours the first time I did it, and 4.5hours the second time. By the way, I just did this once again (third time) but only did my roots this time. So, I only mixed 1/4C of Henna and 1/4C of Indigo and was enough for my roots. I'm happy with the results!
I've been using henna and indigo dye for 5 years now. I add crushed dried rose petal powder, beetroot powder, and apple cider vinegar to my henna. I just add water to my indigo. I didn't know I had to let the indigo sit for 15 minutes. I will try that next time. I've only just washed off the mixture off my hair. I generally leave it in overnight as the stain doesn't take, if I leave it in any less than 12 hours. I left it in for 24 hours this time. I will leave the indigo until the dye has been released before I mix it with the henna next time. hopefully, it will give me the colour I like, in a shorter time frame. I have no issues with colour fade and I only ever colour my roots. Thank you for posting this.

Im dftly trying this.. i applied henna yesterday.. i have 20% gray hair, henna turned my grey hair into copper/orangish and im hating this color. My natural hair color is goldenish brown. Ill try this method now
I would recommend to wait at least 24 hours before you use shampoo on your hair. After the henna treatment you can rinse your hair with a co-wash, it is better than conditioner because it does not rinse out the color.
I also tried this treatment for hair..but my hair became very dry and itchy..can you suggest why was it like that because my hair got a very nice colour ..i always do henna treatment..but in addition i put one egg with some curd and little coffee before applying also i mix henna in a water which is boiled in fenugreek seeds
I think with this technique the hair will grow darker with every application. It's adding more pigment. IMO better to just do the roots and then add the rest an hour before washing it out. Indigo isn't permanent sadly, not as permanent as henna anyway.
I had a horrible color experience with red rainbow henna dye. It was many years ago but I'll never forget the brassy orange color that I couldn't get to go away for anything until it eventually was cut off. My friendly advice to anyone regarding this matter is BE CAREFUL or else you may wind up very sorry. And more discouraging still is that I recently found out that the henna plant is very high in heavy metals.
Hello Larisa, I have a link in the description box for hibiscus powder and I just checked it right now it’s in stock. If you want to use something else instead, try beet juice or any other red liquids/teas like red rooibos tea.
Hi I have watched your video My question is i have highlighted hair since 1 and half years so is this process make any disaster on my hair or I can do this henna process without worries? Please guide me with this
Hello Srushti, I don’t have any experience with bleach and henna because I never done it my self. From research I read that it should be fine just make sure you use 100% pure ingredients because many poorer-quality hennas have metallic salts in them that will cause an exothermic reaction when put in contact with bleach. This may result in severe damage to the hair and chemical burns on your scalp. I highly recommend you do a test on a small section of hair first.
Is this henna literally no chemical ? I usually order online but this is at my local grocery store for so cheap in comparison.. I am severely allergic to hair dye so if it has anything in it I can suffocate in the bathroom applying it lol I tried google but I can’t find a direct answer
What is the ratio for black color (grey to black). Pls reply. I applied 50/50 to get black but it didn't happen. I can't get black on my grey hair with 50 henna and 50 indigo powder
If you want black tones I recommend you do the two steps application first use henna at 100%, apply it to your hair wait 3-4 hours then rinse it and do second step of indigo at 100% wait 3-4 hours and rinse it. If you want dark chocolate brown tones use proportions of 70% indigo and 30% henna.

Instead of water can I use liquid of boiling black tea, coffee and gloves and add that liquid into Henna? Please advise and thank you
Again Im so in love with your video
ماءا تقصدون بالنيلي
Don't use boiling hot tea water to soak henna ..let it cool n then add ..hibiscus to be added with henna n not sure about the other questions ..sorry 😍
15% indigo
15 % katam
Grazie mille 😊
Thank you for this video! I am not As intimated as I once was to use henna now!
very helpful video! thanks for sharing. I want to know what percentage of henna to Indigo is ideal to get black colour?
What should we do to make our hair more orange?
Use less indigo
It looks. Pretty good but I want one product to dye my hair black
Hello, thanks for the detailed video. Just one question can we mix fresh aloe vera gel instead of powder
Im dftly trying this.. i applied henna yesterday.. i have 20% gray hair, henna turned my grey hair into copper/orangish and im hating this color. My natural hair color is goldenish brown. Ill try this method now
Please let me know how it comes out. Good luck!
Hello, very informative video. Is it recommended to add shampoo to your hair to wash the henna or is conditioner enough please ? Thanks .
I would recommend to wait at least 24 hours before you use shampoo on your hair. After the henna treatment you can rinse your hair with a co-wash, it is better than conditioner because it does not rinse out the color.
Not sure whats happening but some of these commenters started their YT accounts within a week
That’s super weird. I keep removing them and they keep coming back.
Beautiful.
Thank you! ♥️
I think with this technique the hair will grow darker with every application. It's adding more pigment. IMO better to just do the roots and then add the rest an hour before washing it out. Indigo isn't permanent sadly, not as permanent as henna anyway.
Fantastic 👌🏼
Thank you!
@@RoseBaby henna and indigo you have used is not available in Canada.. can you suggest some another brand.
Really cute/pretty, girl.
I love using Hanna hair color I just did my hair with only Hanna hair color
What shampoo do you use? or recommend to last the color of henna?
Hello 👋 do you take any supplements or vitamins for healthy hair and skin
Beautiful!
Thank you, Cary!
Thanx girl 🥰
Thank you for sharing. Will the Henna and indigo strip my hair of Botox or Brazilian treatment? Does it contain sulphates?
Thanks for tips 👌
I use henna from 32 years
Very nice 👌🏻👌🏻
Thank you, Rohini.
can we use this rebonded hair ??
very helpful ❤👍
Nice video👍
Hi, Can you use black tea in this mixture to get a more darker color?
hello mam for dandruff hair how to apply mehandi and what mix with these mam
I had a horrible color experience with red rainbow henna dye. It was many years ago but I'll never forget the brassy orange color that I couldn't get to go away for anything until it eventually was cut off. My friendly advice to anyone regarding this matter is BE CAREFUL or else you may wind up very sorry. And more discouraging still is that I recently found out that the henna plant is very high in heavy metals.
Thank you
That's why everyone have some indigo on hand if they're trying henna for the first time, to at least turn it brown if the orange is too much.
2:30 recipe starts
Thank you for the video! Could you please tell me with what can I replace Hibiscus Powder? It is out of stock
Hello Larisa, I have a link in the description box for hibiscus powder and I just checked it right now it’s in stock. If you want to use something else instead, try beet juice or any other red liquids/teas like red rooibos tea.
Nicely explained 👌 but soo much wastage of water...please save water..it's better u use a bucket n mug for hair wash
Hi
I have watched your video
My question is i have highlighted hair since 1 and half years so is this process make any disaster on my hair or I can do this henna process without worries?
Please guide me with this
Hello Srushti, I don’t have any experience with bleach and henna because I never done it my self. From research I read that it should be fine just make sure you use 100% pure ingredients because many poorer-quality hennas have metallic salts in them that will cause an exothermic reaction when put in contact with bleach. This may result in severe damage to the hair and chemical burns on your scalp. I highly recommend you do a test on a small section of hair first.
Can you use chamomile tea instead of water??
Yes, you sure can.
Some say three times indigo. I lik blackish. As mine always cms brownish. Indigo does not colour grey even I. Two step process.
Yes, two-step method is always the best to achieve the darkest color:)
Hi after mixing henna and indigo paste together can we store in room temperature and use
You have to use immediately or freeze it immediately.
Can I add instant coffee instead of water ? Please reply
Yes, you sure can.
@@RoseBaby thank
You so much for your prompt reply
By box dye I got orange baby hair & roots hair color..PL suggest how to get evenly brown hair..my original hair color is black
Is this henna literally no chemical ? I usually order online but this is at my local grocery store for so cheap in comparison.. I am severely allergic to hair dye so if it has anything in it I can suffocate in the bathroom applying it lol I tried google but I can’t find a direct answer
Hii Rose. Can you plzz tell me the the ratio?
For how many hours did you put it on hair Plz reply
What is the ratio for black color (grey to black). Pls reply. I applied 50/50 to get black but it didn't happen. I can't get black on my grey hair with 50 henna and 50 indigo powder
If you want black tones I recommend you do the two steps application first use henna at 100%, apply it to your hair wait 3-4 hours then rinse it and do second step of indigo at 100% wait 3-4 hours and rinse it.
If you want dark chocolate brown tones use proportions of 70% indigo and 30% henna.
@@RoseBaby thanks baby ❤️

In the first step, mix amla (amla browns the red of henna) and henna.
Second step (1/8 henna + 7/8 indigo)
Henna darkens over time
Woow
I wonder if instead of warm water if you could use warm beet juice ?
Yes, you can, I’m just not sure if you would get the same color I got.
Could I use the light mountain natural but just use the same measurements u use would I get the same or do you think I should just order the henna guys?
Hi, I've been covering grey roots my hair was originally medium ,dark brown but now it's teddy brown. Is it true you have to put red on first then brown afterward?💜
How often are you doing henna coloring/dye?
I try to do it every a couple of months.
Did the henna stain your bath 🛀?
how long do you leave the henna mixture on your hair?
Madam the products are not available in India to bangalore
