So I got the DRL light strip headlights recently and ran across the same problem with the low beam connector not matching. Gotta swap the connector out and do this exactly. Several years later, how have yours held up? I'm about to turn mine on in about a week.
THANKS SO MUCH. the other tutorial video they said you need to take off front bumper, front grill, and cover under front bumper. Definitely doing it your way
how does the downroad light output for these Spec-D headlights compare to the factory headlights? How is the quality of these? fit on your car? any water leaking or lens fogging? I'm thinking of replacing the factory headlights on my Honda and don't like that I cannot inspect the Spec-D before purchasing. Thank you
I think I plugged in the white and black wires into the wrong one. I wired them into the running lights or blinkers and they are barely bright. Do you think if I wire them into something else they will be brighter?
@@Doogsturr How are these holding? I read a LOT of negative reviews about clearcoat peeling and plastic micro cracking within few month of usage... I also read that the light output is worse compared to OEM headlights (especially STI HID)
Arman A my stock ones continued to fog up and i got a deal on these ones, so far they’re doing great for me, still clear as day for me. You can always upgrade to some auxbeam lights for bright visibility.
Doug Murray the problem with switching to HID/LED bulbs is that the reflector is originally designed for a small point source (Wolfram filament in Halogen bulbs). When you put big point source (LED and HID are big point sources) then the geometry of projected light is not optimized and is going all over the place - including UP which blinds the oncoming traffic. If you adjust the headlight down to not blind the oncoming traffic, then you will use the glare to lighten the road which is not optimal... So if you will think upgrading to HID in the future, then replacing projector for HID type is mandatory. Many people retrofit Lexus/Mercedes/BMW projectors to their vehicles, and there is also this company which makes bolt-on projectors for many headlights (including Spec-D): www.lightwerkz.net/index.php/complete-retrofit-kits/application-specific-kits/retro-quik-spec-d.html
