There was a time when “fogging up the windows” was a fun thing. Lol
If you know…you know. And probably smile too.
Still is 🤣
@@ravenmoto5948, my sentiments exactly.
🤘🔥🤘
10:35 Scotty knows
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Your exacty right. This was one of mine. I took my future wife to the drive in named Sky High Drive in located in Lombard, Illinois in 1980 or 1981 or 1982. The movie was 9 to 5. We never saw the movie.
EASY solution: Turn on the A/C with the temp setting up to warm. The A/C evaporation works great.
My best trick is to squeegee the inside of the windows from time to time. There is a buildup of oils over time on the inside of windows that makes fogging much worse. It may look weird at the gas station but it works!
I do that too. I don't know why it works so well. Magic fluid.
@@mcelfreshiii When you clean the squeegee, I'm always surprised with the gunk that comes off
Dealerships by me are refusing to do business with anyone named Scotty. Your last name doesn't even have to be Kilmer. If you're first name is Scotty, they call the cops on you.
For real? 😂
My job as a kid in the 80's was to de fog all the windows and windscreen in the humid rainey weather here in the Caribbean. I remember when we finally got AC in a car i was so happy!
Use Rain-X anti-fog wipes and a little buff off with a microfibre cloth. This works 100% and lasts.
on the inside or outside or both?
@@KayGx interior
I never see inside fog. I run my AC year round. 😂 thanks Mr Kilmer you’re spot on.
Scotty gives the best advice.
Even thought i can not understand english well but i love this channel
Hi Scotty, thanks for your daily amazing videos. Have a great day 😀
Thanks Scotty for the information
All newer vehicles have radiator overflow reservoirs which essentially manage the expansion and contraction of coolant. Won't keeping the correct level of coolant in the overflow reservoir avoid air getting into the cooling system and heater core?
Yes
Hey Scotty, I know some folks full of hot air too. BWHAHAHAHA!
52 degrees here this morning in NW. FLorida panhandle...thanks Scotty will check our 2012 lexus and 2003 4runners log book.
Genius, Scotty! 🤩 Love it! 🥰 Thanks for sharing!! 🙏
Heat pumps are actually quite simple... The complicated part is the reversing valve that reverses the refrigerant flow through the internal and external sets of coils. In heat mode you are actually cooling the outside air... Lol
Scotty I love your information and content and it's free 😊.
Timely advice
Test the coolant for voltage. Check.
Where do you fill the turn signal fluid?
My thermostat housing has a bleeder valve upon the top of it to allow it to be cracked open & vent any air from the cooling system.
My 04 Vibe and the Mattix are even more alike than I thought!
I never knew dirty coolant conducts electricity
ANY aqueous (h20) solution conducts electricity, to some degree or another.
When my f150 fan stopped working on the bottom 3 fan speeds, there was something behind the glove box
I changed and got the full range back, can't remember what it was called but a google search saved me at least 125$ dealer visit
Chuck Yeager had a problem with his Bell X-1 windshield fogging up and freezing. I forget the name of his engineer, but he cured the problem with Joy dish soap.
Thanks Scotty!
08:08 "The most common problem if they don't blow..." 🤣🤨
Its important to maintain the car cooling system and the heater. If it has manual transmission, it is supposed to last forever.
Hey Scottie love your videos!
Hello and thanks!
My Old Ford Pick Up 30min to change a heater core, My Neighbors old Dodge we had to remove the entire dash, and then wait weeks for parts that we broke while doing it.
Another trick you can do if your windows are fogging up is you take an old sock, fill it up with cat litter ,seal it with a duct tape or something like that and just throw it under a seat or on a dash if you don't mind looking at it and people asking questions. It will slowly absorb excess humidity in your car and prevent the condensation on your windows so they will stop fogging up. 👍
Had a 77 Power Wagon with a shot climate control. I bundled up and cracked a wing when driving in the winter.
a headline that actually describes the video be still my beating heart
Thank you
I live in FL but I still enjoyed this video. I miss the days of living in cold weather
I live in NW Florida panhandle...52 degrees this morning....colder come winter...this video is good for us.
Scotty Heat Pumps aren’t that complex.
Instead of the engine powering the AC compressor it’s a DC motor via the battery pack. During normal AC, it blows cold air inside (captures heat) and spits it out via the radiator. For heating, there’s a reversing valve and reverses the flow of refrigerant.
If I'm putting the same Toyota Red Coolant, can I just do a Spill and Fill?
Watching your videos from the island of Guam..🌴 love watching…
Scotty…what about reversing the water through the heater core at the firewall to blow that gunk out of the core? Worked on my 1966 Ford Fairlane back in college!
I worked at a gas station after school and a mechanic showed me that trick. Did that to all my friends cars.
Great video!
Love you’re rocking the denim jacket / gray hoodie combo! Taking me back to the 80’s!
Scotty fogged up many a backseat window back in the day
6:48 Scotty says when keeping track of coolant changes “Write it down in a little notepad in your glovebox”. Scotty, most people keep track of things in the notes app on their phones. It’s not 1995 anymore, it’s 2024, get with the times Scotty 😂😂
I’m with Scotty, I am old and can’t keep up with new technology.sorry
Note pads sitting in the glove box don’t get lost or stolen, also you don’t have to update the software for a notepad, never have to recharge its battery & the screen never gets cracked & blanks out & notepads don’t care if the grid goes down either.
I agree with Scotty on this one. I don't need tech for EVERYTHING. Some things work perfectly fine without it, like writing notes and putting it in a glovebox so it's simple and easy to reach for and don't having to mess around with confusing screens.
The crab grass in Scottys lawn is ridiculous
Once had to change the heater core on a 85 Golf diesel Took many hours and a month or two later there was a recall. I did get the $$ back for the core since I bought it at the dealer. Fun stuff
Regular maintenance,...what a concept....
Thank you sir.
Scotty, I'm scared to use my heater now knowing the hot water blows through the vents and in my face, I know what ya mean keep up the amazing content
So it's extremely important to keep the coolant fresh
Excellent video, thank you 🙏
Mindblowing that a company as huge as Chrysler (or used to be) would miss something so simple on their heater cores.🙈
I have known people that owned those original VW Beetles and it seems like you either got heat or you didn't. Of course being that those engines were air cooled you weren't going to get heat from any water and anti freeze. It was like you got a Beetle that had a nuclear reactor level of heat or one that wouldn't produce even lukewarm air for love or money.
Scotty!
Hey!
Thanks for the information Scotty i just had my radiator replaced and the air-conditioner serviced i wish i had known about this over a year ago i would have had my air conditioner fixed and i may not have had a wreck because i was going a different way to my sister's house so stopped at a stop sign and i didn't see a car and crashed i wouldn't have gone that away if my ac was working 😮😢
So if you buy a gm. Just ground the heater core from new?🤔
It’s internal
Mister I'm listening
I want to get new coolant in this Scion. Its definitely due.
Cool story bro 🙄🙄🙄🥱🥱🥱
Nice
My Toyota Tazz doesn't have air conditioning 😂
I’d like to know how to keep a windshield clean
No so they can charge you more for your car and for repairs. Plus they want u to have to go to the dealer to get it fixed and it’s because they want to put independent repair shops out of business
Scotty, I just did a coolant flush, on my 2021 Acura ILX. What a pain in the as..!!! I used the spill proof funnel, and I was only getting hot air on high setting? It took my 3 different days to burp all the air out. Any suggestions when there’s no bleeder valve?
Remove all the glass, thats will stop it
My caravans and Voyagers both had this problem I was successful changing them two out of three times. What a headache to change.
Recirc is the biggest single cause of fogging inside…..
Why am I even watching this? I live in Florida
I'll take the good old bimetallic spring thermostat over this computer controlled garbage any day!
I solved my windshield fogging up by moving to Idaho where it's not so humid 🙂
This is why car dealers hate you Scotty, 🤣🤣🤣👍
The feeling is mutual though, I'm sure. 😅
Cold here in Arizona, only 92....
I needed a master mechanic for this? 🙄
Just buy a 94 Celica and your problem is solved.
In older cars heater could be clogged with dirt. Then hot air will have specyfic smell. Kind of overheated clogged vaccum cleaner.
Best way to never get foggy windows is remove the windows.
Or your girlfriend.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Don’t be silly, Scotty. A heat pump is identical to an air conditioner with one added part: a reversing valve
It helps if the inside of the windshield is clean too.
My vent doesn't switch between vent to defrost , what's do I need to do
There are vacuum motors or they maybe electric that move the actuators. At least of those is not working.
@@orangejuice4332 thanks
Trade it for a car that works.😂
My 2015 Mazda 6 heater core has lasted but I found were the refrigerant leak was 😅, in the air box 📦
Watching at 2.0 speed
What to prevent window fog? I couldn't keep listening to Scotty go on and on about the radiator, sorry.
im in that arc of the video now and forgot that this was about preventing window fog
Yesterday 97 in Houston.
Not everyone lives in Houston 😂
Ok a Honda 2002 and never changed the coolant 🤣🤣 130270 but I have a squeaky clutch pedal 👎🏻😱
Change clutch fluid and lubricate slave
Defroster, duh
Scotty hates Chrysler! That much is clear...LOL
Maintaining your heating system is easy!
Unless it's a Chrysler product 🤣
👍
Rubbing shaving cream onto a mirror stops it fogging up when u shower, so should do the same for the winshield
Just put shaving cream on your windows
I know cause my windows are very hairy.
Not so simple. in my 5.0 liter V8 Mercedes I had heating issues because a dual valve system was failing. Engine was providing a huge amount of excess heat but it wasn't distributed to the cabin.
I wanna get a blower for my car that blows about 100 mph 😄
Take all that crap off a car Scotty then it work 😂😂😂😂
i love that we both own the same car , whatever you need ill prob need lol and you show how to do it and why to
lol...that's awesome!
