I will always Love Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy... watching them as often as we 7 kids would living in NYC when there were only about 9 channels.. They are Forever in all our hearts.
A notable thing about L&H is how successfully they transitioned to sound films from silents. Their actual voices and accents worked perfectly with their distinctive and recognizable appearances, and they became even more popular. It’s also notable that they always used their real names instead of character names. “I’m Mr. Hardy - Oliver Norville Hardy - and this is my friend Mr. Laurel”.
I am glad to see that the stair's are still there so much of old Hollywood are gone now only to be seen in old movies and shorts. Those stair's introduced me to them when I was a kid . Glad to see they made a movie about a friendship and the love shared between them. The yen and yang of them I guess their talent might have made them solo star's but together they were terrific.
I always love Stan and Ollie! Even to this day. Remember watching them at night when I was sick while waiting for my father to come home from his shift at the power plant. He would sit with me and watch til it was over.
He was on his way to becoming big in the US a decade ago by starring in a few Ben Stiller movies but then got the blame in the tabloids for Owen Wilson falling off the coke wagon after a party. In my opinion whatever that blonde buffoon shoved up his wonky nose was his choice and not Steve's but Hollywood loves a scapegoat when one of it's own is involved in a scandal.
One of the funniest movies of the team I saw was a silent film where they were fighting with one another in front of store. My father (RIP) and I were holding our sides laughing.
Some of the stuff that happened to Hardy was brutal, the violence always reminded me of Tom & Jerry. Things that could cause horrific injuries only scuffed him and he always got up again and brushed the dust off. His howls of pain and horror were always hilarious. I guess that's why we love it; the violence was always harmless.
When Stan was sick with diabetes, he encouraged Babe to keep working, and after Babe made a film with John Wayne called “The Fighting Kentuckian,” Wayne had such a great time that he asked Babe to become his long-term film partner. Babe’s response was “I’m sorry, but I already have a partner” and went back to touring music halls with Stan as soon as Stan was well again. Then after Babe died, Stan turned down every offer to work again that he ever received from then on. If that isn’t loyalty I don’t know what is.
We will never see their like again, they were wonderful.
Good to see that the producers found an American and a Brit with the talent to replicate the famous duo.
John Reilly and Steve Coogan were both excellent in "Stan and Ollie". The both should have won Oscars.

That's okay until these amatuer movie reviewers on youtube and other idiots write it as fact when the truth is so easily found. Even Reilly and Coogan have made it a point to state the truth in interviews.
NYT are just a bunch of pricks
I will always Love Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy... watching them as often as we 7 kids would living in NYC when there were only about 9 channels.. They are Forever in all our hearts.
true! we watched them on channel 11 when ever we visited my aunt & uncle in Queens.
They both did an amazing job in the film.
This movie was AWESOME ! These two guys are still wonderful after all these years !
Thanks L & H !
Laurel”.
Take my money now, the movie looks like a winner and a fun time.
Love Laurel and Hardy. Thanks Dr.!
both are superb in the movie...
Met Coogan as an extra on his Santa Fe film Ideal Home. Glad he's getting more notoriety in America.
What can I say I've love these 2 for over 60 years and still watch them and they still make me laugh. RIP piece kings of laughter
Grew up watching them and still like to binge on occasion.
Everyone "Got it" when Ollie looked at the Camera....he was looking at us.
That look meant this: "Why don't you do something to help me!" lol
One of the funniest movies of the team I saw was a silent film where they were fighting with one another in front of store. My father (RIP) and I were holding our sides laughing.
Can't wait to see this picture!
Pictures...yeah pictures..
This was such a great movie. Both Cougan and Riley were awesome.
Love it!
Love Laurel and Hardy ❤️Miss the movies on Sunday morning.😞
STAN LAUREL AND OLIVER HARDY.....THE GREATEST COMEDY TEAM EVER.
I love them and adore them my whole life, they're family to all us fans !!!! Thanks !!!!
I liked your comments about Mr. Hardy. Did you know that his brother drowned in front of him? He tried to save his brother's life.
