Need for Speed: Underground (also known as NFSU) is the seventh installment in the Need for Speed series, and was developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts in 2003. It is the first game in the series to use the THX technology. Underground completely rebooted the franchise, ignoring the previous Need for Speed games which featured sports cars and exotics. It was the first game in the series to offer a career mode featuring a storyline, and a garage mode that allowed players to fully customize their cars with a large variety of brand-name performance and visual upgrades. All races take place in a generic city at night called Olympic City, though the city bears some resemblance to New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Rather than exotic cars, Underground featured vehicles associated with the import scene. Underground was commercially successful, and inspired a sequel.

Until today I can't understand how people really think 'Kurt's Killer Ride' is the hardest race in the game. Haven't they played this race? Are they stuck in KKR so they were never able to play Enduro Street Circuit? 🤔
for me enduro street circuit is easier due to no traffic.. and hardest one for me is melissa on market street

En cambio, en 'Kurt's Killer Ride' no hay nada en la pista que puedas aprovechar, solo tienes el tráfico que es malo para ti también.

Oh by the way opponents fade away from you like every 10 milimeters if you look carefully. I have Engine, ECU and Transmission, also stability control turned off (the frikkin car slides sometimes, which gets me angry but for that I have improved response for the car steering). Hard mode on all races. I have my Skyline (Picked it stat-wise, normally my career run was meant to be MX-5 / RX-7, and also optionally 240sx) and its still difficult to beat. I played it for a full run recently and failed. Decided to retry and protect my lead by driving dirty but that S2K caught up with uh..hax you know. Then I alt f4'd on the third lap and I'm here whining or let's say I'm just commenting. Yet to beat this race and finish Underground 1 once for all. Oh I am not demotivated because I've spent all my morale in a previous race on this track (you go forward, not reverse in that track). Oh as I said track, this, freaking track, is your pain train in the entire game. One track, hundred restarts. Good luck to anyone who has seen this post. You're not alone, we here, are the many others, that has been/yet to be through this shit. Lmao.
yes you are right and we have the times that we punched the wall so many times and i'm sure one day my parents gonna kill me for breaking the wall near me
RSX have worst handling but i love this car
@@Th3MrRandomowy Have you driven the Supra? The RSX is actually pretty good! Great acceleration, amazing top speed, and pretty good handling as well. The RSX just isn’t too great at drift events imo
This one is the hardest race in entire game with no doubt. Just one mistake and the race is lost. You have to drive perfectly all 7 laps with maximum focus on a ride and perfectly cut all curves with high speed. Just one mistake and golden Honda S2000 and Purple Mazda RX-7 are already in front of you. In 10 to 15 times of trying to won the race, if you're lucky, you'll do it once.
Btw: Guess that a track name "Enduro" is maybe a hidden refference to "Endless durability" in driving which could describe this race perfectly well.
You don't even need to make a mistake - the AI will rubberband and catchup regardless. At 1:30 the guy was doing 250kmph around the corner and still got overtaken. He only took back the lead when the AI crashed at 1:59.
The best part? This AI crashed not one, but four times in total - 1:59, 2:40, 3:57, and finally 5:13 (not seen, but implied from the timer on the scoreboard), which foiled each time the AI tried to rubberband.

This is also a really tough race, especially with unique turbo and transmission parts, which makes the opponents catching up faster. Enjoy!

Engine/ECU/Turbo is the best TJ combo. Though this race is a tad easier with Engine/ECU/Weight than with Engine/ECU/Trans or Engine/Turbo/Trans but still tough. Engine/ECU/Turbo is what you really want because even though the AI copies your uniques and cheats with catch-up power is your friend and the AI will have slightly more difficulty catching up and passing you thus the race won't be so hard. Engine/ECU/Weight is a good alternative though if you want the extra responsiveness, but you may wanna use a different car like the Skyline. The RX7 may be faster but the Skyline is better IMO.
Or of course you could downgrade your car too and the AI will downgrade as well making the race so much easier regardless of your TJs without cranking down to "easy" or "medium," but who'd wanna do that? It's lame.

Aw man, I remember playing this event and the rubber banding is soooo bad there and so does this track!
My most hated race in the entire game, hard as fuck no matter what difficulty setting, the AI always rubber bands on the last turn and they end up passing you sometimes and on the last lap is the most frustrating and infuriating thing ever
won it yesterday on hard 1 time after 15 years finaly it feels good
Just played this twice and on the final lap of both times, some car came rubberbanding past me and took the first.
All the other times I kept messing up due to the tunnel section, and worst of all that shortcut at the beginning, which has a a very high chance of completely ruining your race after the first lap, due to not having the university-grade algrebraic physics knowledge to approach it correctly at high speed.
Blink and you'll lose! Can you keep up?Just the race from the start, the opponents come at inconvienence at max speed! But watch out! You've got only 7 laps! My race are very hard, but I can't catch these! Win the battle to gain the cash at this!

This race was a nightmare!!!!!!!! Took me a month and a half to beat! RSX didn't work, switched to the S2000 (kept getting beat by Matt) that almost won me the race until the last lap, switched to the RX-7 and still barely won but only cause i hit 6th gear right before the last left turn and rammed Matt into the wall 😂

I just won this race in the first try after not playing the game for like 14 years, I remember struggling to it a lot when I was a child.

What is the race when you have to race a blue, a yellow and a red car, with not a lot of visual upgrade but it's pretty hard ?

One thing that sucks about this Race isn't the Laps, its the Track itself.

This was the most difficult race for me. I was stuck nearly 2 weeks in this 😅.

I still hate Wu and Matt that rubberbanding 350Z gives me PTSD.
I have tried with many different cars to win this race, but it's not working. The bots are just too strong, it's almost impossible. What should I do?
