    Smashing session Danny - but Mr Pike again! As you say, once you have the fish (bait fish!), it will always attract the predators. Remember fishing a Winter League match on the River Lea at Hertford - 2 small gudgeon in the net with 30 minutes to go when the guy to my right caught 2 roach, 1 after another. Dropped the bomb rod and went back out on a pole with a single pinkie on a 26 hook, 12 oz bottom, 1.7 Bayer mainline on a 4 elastic. First run through the float 'stabbed' and I struck out of instinct, hooking a small roach. I began to ship the pole back when as I went to break down, I noticed almost all the elastic was out? Believing I was snagged, I reconnected the pole and lifted just to be met with a 'thump, thump, thump'. Top cut a long story short, 7 minutes into 'Injury time', I netted a 9lb 8oz pike, hooked clean in the scissors - which fortunately counted so I won the day. Fishing - you just can't beat it!!

      MR PIKE ARGHHHH :) top post mate love the stories like that top skills getting it out and winning match, we fished matches on the dee and the pike would tear your net to get at the fish it mas manic, but as unclesays when fishing for silvers on a river you pull those silvers through the swim normally the same way and you have the best lure on thre end in a distressed real fish. tight lines matey

    Another great net of fish Dan great advice about sticking to one type of fishing , probably the worst thing to do fish two different methods at the same time , you just end up fishing badly , take care mate thanks for all your hard work producing these vids for us 👍

    • @DannysAnglingBlog
      @DannysAnglingBlog  4 года назад +1

      you too peter, always been the way, did fish with a lad andwe had light hearted matches and he would fish the pole and have a feeder rod out at same time and you never do either proper. i should really put a pike rod out on a dead bait and an alarm and forget about it but when i get there i just want to get fishing haha. tight lines mate

    Great vid as usual Danny and thanks for your commitment to getting out there with all the carp weather
    Do you add anything in to the groundbait or is that how it is, straight out of the bag?
    Cheers 🖒🖒

    • @DannysAnglingBlog
      @DannysAnglingBlog  4 года назад +1

      the groundbait is heavy with hemp from the bag, certainly not a winter canal mix, being honest jason i am still learning with it, on these sessions i have only added water to bind and some hemp and tares but i will be playing with the mix more to find out how it mixes with molehill soil and brown crumb and will post finding son channel.
