  • Cadence Fishing TV heads to the River Severn at Upton for a trip James had been planning for some time with local Brand Ambassador Colin Harvey, however, the weather had proved problematic with the river too high to fish on several occasions. A break in the weather allowed them one day to fish together on this famous stretch. With big river bream their target, the guys split up their tactics. With James electing to fish with the Bolo, not something associated with river bream fishing and Colin going for the more conventional feeder fishing method. Find out how the lads got on in this latest episode of Cadence Fishing TV.

    Top Video again from Cadence Fishing TV its great to see a company that cares about the anglers making videos to help people learn in 53 years of fishing i have never seen a angling company like Cadence UK.How many companys out there give free fishing kit out to kids so that they can have a great day out (NOT MANY) The Products are the best out there the first time i held a Cadence rod was at the Big One tackle show i could not believe how good the Bolo rods are you would think you had hold of a 14ft rod not a 16ft and for the price of one Bolo rod from other companys you can buy 2 from Cadence the No1 and the No2.Thanks very much James and all the Cadence team for all your hard work and all you do for the sport.

    Great fishing my guy!!! I live in Gloucester and has a kid use to (try).. fishing the Severn and I no just how hard it is to find fish around all the snags!! We never attempted to float fish back then it’s was always big line and big leads lol!! I remember once fishing a part we called Colin Campbell has it was nx to a pub of that name and there was a guy fishing feeder the high side of the weir and all day pulling out massive bream and like yourself not hitting the snags. We went back nx day hoping to fish the peg he was on and 9/10 casts were into snags causing us to lose what little bit of kit we had at that time lol. So hats off to the great fishing in this video….

    great vid... id never feed my groundbailt that far downstream when i used to fish, i was too wary of the feller on the lower peg benefitting from my bait... but like you have said in other vids... its better line control and presentation... i never got to try 'bolo' i dropped out of match fishing just as it was emerging in mid 80's to concentrate on my family kid's etc... i never got to fish commercials etc... but it looks like scratching for silvers seems to be coming back into fashion... that was my forte.... great fun

    Hello James, thank you for this great lesson in bolognese bream fishing, and thank you to Chappy for the magnificent images.
    I have two quick technical questions, please. I am a French fan and with us "the groundbait" is always a sensitive subject ...
    Why don't you add soil to groundbait?
    was crush hemp cooked or not?
    Finally, you always use the "pro gold" monofilament, for the feeder or in this video for the bolo.
    Is this monofilament special for the feeder or is it a classic monofilament that can be used for all types of fishing?
    Thank you in advance for your answers and continue to send us your advice and your beautiful videos.
    greetings.
    daniel

    • @CadenceFishingUK
      @CadenceFishingUK  4 года назад +1

      daniel canel Hi Daniel, thanks for the message. I did not add any soil to the ground bait. I did not need to increase the weight of the groundbait and wanted to maximise the feed content. So I used a mix of fresh brown crumb (1/3), Baitech bream (1/3) and crushed hemp 1/3. With the crushed hemp I make my own by grinding pure hemp. Then add boiling water and use this to mix my groundbait. I like it as I think it’s a great attracter for roach and bream and it also adds stickiness to the mix. It means I can add lots of particles like casters / chopped worm. I use Pro Gold for all my reel line (both match and feeder). I buy bulk spools and find it to be very strong and reliable. It floats well when I’m float fishing. No problem to email me directly if you have any more questions. jcrobbins@cadencefishing.com
      Cheers
      James

    Why did he throw the groundbait down stream of his swim?

    • @CadenceFishingUK
      @CadenceFishingUK  4 года назад

      It's near impossible to get the float to settle in front of you on a fast river. By throwing downstream the sticky heavy mix will reach the bottom very quickly. James spent time finding a snag free part of the riverbed and that's where the ground bait went. The position is a combination of where good hookbait presentation can be achieved combined with where the fish will likely want to be. Hope that answers your query.

    • @CadenceFishingUK
      @CadenceFishingUK  4 года назад +1

      Paul Franciosi Hi Paul, we do catch them on the Warwickshire Avon and Trent in matches, but they are difficult to target as they are often caught with roach, common bream and hybrids. For this reason it’s also difficult to identify them as pure Silver bream. Lovely fish that often only feed with colour in the water. Cheers James
