- In this session we head out in search of silvers on the river ribble, a new river we decided the best time to visit was in the middle of a weather warning, strong winds and icy cold gusts we where the only two madmen on the bank. Join me on this session i will never forget where i smash my roach pb and catch my first ever 2lb roach.

Well done with the PB. The biggest roach I have seen was back in the late 1960's, they were spawning in shallow water on the Tyne, must have been round the 2lb mark. I was a kid and just estimated so could be wrong.
Well done Danny - have to say in 60+ years of angling I've only caught one roach in excess of 2lb and it really is one of the high points for any coarse angler.

Fantastic session - you can keep your 50lb carp, there's absolutely nothing better in fishing than the jag jag fight of a big river roach on the float.....Well done that man!
nice one chief can not beat a day on the float on the river can you, float going under every time over hemp, takes some beating. tight line mate

deffo steve, what video doesnt show is from 3pm onwards my hands where red with cold, weather did really come in , we got away with it as that was supposed come in round middy, tight lines for 2019 mate

getting addicted to place mate, just so many different options to fish in it and love how fast it drops after rain, dee and severn all flooded and thats down and fishing head off
@@DannysAnglingBlog i'm not surprised you like it mate, I know of the stretch, a few of my mates fish there and it's produced roach over 3lb and perch not far off 4lb, you never know what will be next👍🎣😁

no problem at all mate, yeah for sure all thois roach bent the rod but this was ......different slow and swam upstream and when it swung in under my feet, backside went lol special memories

deffo mate that choice to pick a bolo over a stick float was the difference and improved catch. hopig have a go on this peg in calmer conditioins on the stick where can dot it right down. hopefully its free one day as little did i know its a well known swim

Envious now Danny...my PB roach is 1lb 8oz caught on a 20mg Kamasan black cap maggot feeder with 2 pinkies on the hook. Nearly 2 years ago, so hoping to beat it this winter. Good fishing mate.

Nice session Danny, I am back to carp with the high temps at the moment, going feederfishing Sunday but might squeeze in a 2nd rod on deadbait
its not cold is it, was mild as anything here the other day, dace getting tubicles on head and suddenly everyhwere is green, plants in for shock when frosts come back and winter hits, always get a cold spell, hopefully

RAWHIDE mate didnt think you were old enough danny.i can remember it first time round mate.shows u how old I am danny eh.some lovely roach mate I must be forty years since ive caught that size round our way danny biggest ive ever had was just over 1 pound mate yonks ago. looks like the mrs and kids had the sweets early eh mate merry xmas danny.
yay someone mentioned rawhide bit :-) yeah channel 4 in black and white sundays lol. All about location sometimes, all trotting dowen on this channel and rivers just dont contain them, this river all the fish seem to be a good stamp, its mad when smallest fish is prob 8oz lol. I caught a 21lb mirror carp at that spot where your fishing (the shawes arms stretch)
had one or two people comment saying that its good for carp, bet it put up a fight in that flow mate, top angling
It was in the summer and the bend was still no flow accept at the other side and it came in easy it was just the wait of it lol (great roach tho)
