If you asked a child let's say from France the same question, that child may say "I want to be a journalist", and that would be it. Here the person being interviewed was someone selected that is in good standing family-wise and in English and before the interview they are told many things to not say, on the flip side if they learn about the outside world or try to escape they will be punished or killed. Just remember this: Pyongyang has the highest quality of life in the whole state of North Korea. According to reports only selected families may enter the city and live there. So what we are witnessing here are the few priviliged ones and the absolutely majority of the children most likely don't have this "free uniform" crap. Of course they won't show us this, because it would pretty much ruin the propaganda effort.

These poor NK children are only saying what they has been coached to say. I really love the shot of the interviewer in the computer room, it reminds me of another documentary where these guys stayed around in a computer room in north korea for a long period of time only to realize that most of the kids there were staring at their screens, not actually doing anything, not changing any pages, not knowing what to actually do because they're just there to look smart for the cameras

The leader makes sure they only know limited of the outside world and gives them propaganda. Only in recent years, they allowed them internet access but its restricted so they cannot search for info about the outside world. Here the person being interviewed was someone selected that is in good standing family-wise and in English and before the interview they are told many things to not say, on the flip side if they learn about the outside world or try to escape they will be punished or killed. That's why I said the reporter should be vaguer as now the girl would probably be questioned or question the information and be curious. It can ut her life at risk.
