(Sorry for the confusion, there is 2,000 won in south Korea as well. The Government issued special bank note "2,000 won" in order to mark the 2018 Pyeong Chang Winter Olympic. But usually, we seldom use it.)

Corrections about South Korea AS South Korean
    1. South Korea no longer uses 2000 won as one of the banknotes.
    2. Winter sports was not depicted in 2000 won even at the time it was supplied.
    3. No South Korean actually does 10 step skin care routine. It’s just a promotion from beauty companies to sell their products more.
    4. This is an additional information. Every Korean has a national insurance that is super affordable. With that insurance, people only pay barely 10 dollars to visit their family doctor.

As a South Korean, the health care in Korea is super affordable and very fast. Now I live in Canada for study, but everytime I get sick or need to visit a walkin clinic, I miss the Korean health care system so badly. When I needed to get an xray as my jaw got fractured, I had to wait 3 days to get the results which would only take a couple of hours in Korea. I rememeber back in korea I had to get an Xray for my leg fractured, it only took 2 hours lol. Also, we don't need to make an appointment when we need to see a doctor. + No need to make an appointment to see a specialist, u just need to go to a specific clinic and get a treatment right away(so we dont have a family doctor). And every treatment is usually bellow $20 because of the health insurance we have. Of course it's a different story if you have a specific, very rare disease. But seriously a lot of korean immigrants who moved to Canada they are thinking moving back to Korea because of the health care in Korea

I didnt know how the government bad when I lived in there. first time when I came to China when Chinese talking about bad about Kim's family even I was really angry on them, cuz Kim's family kinda for us God.
Who live outside of Pyongyang they even don't know whats going on outside of country. They just believe that nk is the best country, cuz we learning like that.
I watching ur video, i want meet my old friends in nk, and I miss my family and my town.
I just want to say ,u can hate or talking bad about them but dont hate them, the people who live in there.
And thx for those videos. I really enjoyed watching ur videos.
2month ago i heard that my mom is dead in April, im really sad that I can't visit..I wished I can see them before my parents die.. but I guess I can't. I really hope, one day before I die.. i can see my family again.

I adopted my daughter from South Korea 12 years ago when she was 8 months old. She was well taken care of in her foster home, but I still don’t understand why South Koreans shy away from adopting their children themselves and need the international adoption market to take care of their orphans.

I'm not really contradicting anything from the vedio because there's nothing wrong with it but
it's not easy to raise a child (or grow up) in korea because there aren't as many secure jobs for the young generation which leaves a lot of highly educated people unemployed. this of course does nothing for the very high unemployment rate and exessive compettion among high school students , graduates, undergraduates etc
this plus financial difficulties of finding a house to live in (small country +a lot of people) are one of the biggest reasons why adoption rate and birth rate is so low in korea. it may not be using propaganda to brain wash it's people and it may not have starving people on the streets (as in a quite lot of countries)
but its far from all laughter and rainbows and stuff...
sorry if my english isn't perdfect im not a native english speaker..
i was just studying for a test and thougt i'd leave a comment, but i do think i went a bit overboard ...

Because those children in need were either terminated before birth or are raised by single parents. In Europe it's practically impossible to adopt for example, so couples have to go to America or Asia. It's not a choice: most couples would much rather adopt locally.

    • @Lils9836
      @Lils9836 4 года назад +16

As you probably know, Koreans are still a bit conservative. If they hear that a single mom is taking care of a child on her own, then people are gonna judge. There are actually quite a few married couples that adopt children though.

My maternal grandparents were originally from North Korea, but left for the South sometime in the 1950s because of the war. Poverty was rampant and they struggled to survive, but still very glad that they left when they did. My grandmother's only family was her grandmother, who decided to stay behind because of her age, which my grandmother did not want to do but didn't really have much of a choice. The only way out was by boat, and my grandfather's brother and his family were supposed to escape with them, but the boat they had to go on was so packed with people that there wasn't room for another person, so his brother and family decided to stay behind and wait for the next boat... That happened to have been the last boat... Nobody knew at the time. We guess that the war made its way there, because the next boats never made it there. We never found out what happened to our family there, whether they were killed shortly after, put in prison camps, or survived somehow and have family who are still living there, we don't know. We never heard from them again. I think about my sister and me being born and raised with freedom in the States, as well as our cousins and mother's siblings all living it up in Seoul. It makes me feel selfish how here we are in the Land of the Free, complaining about dumb things like being "too fat," the waiter messing up our dinner order, or our house being too small and furniture out-of-date, while our counterparts in North Korea have been suffering in silence for 70+ years.
Edit: Interestingly, about 15 years ago, my grandmother actually decided to go back to North Korea, as a tourist, out of curiosity. First stop was Pyongyang. My mother mentioned that she told her how drastically different it was from anywhere in the South and the feelings of uneasiness. It was obvious there was something wrong. There were a lot of high rises, yet there was almost nobody on the streets, no cars driving by. It was quiet. The malls were mostly empty. She tried to talk some random locals there, in a casual conversation, but all of them politely excused themselves and quickly walked away. She said they all seemed nervous about something because, even though she was nice and told them it's okay to talk, they made haste to get out of there. There wasn't much to see, nor anything of her life before the war to go back to. Sad country.
The Korean War never really ended. Not until the North is freed and Korea is reunified.
