My life in North Korea vs South Korea

- UPDATE. A year after publishing this video, I decided to make another video that explains why it might not be a good idea to travel to North Korea yourself: • Why You Should Never T... I know it's ironic of me to say it as I've been there myself, but please think twice before making that decision. Also, if you want to learn more about the history of North Korea, watch this other video I made that's only 4 minutes long: • Video

One year ago I went on a strictly guided 7 day-tour in North Korea where they took away my passport and did not allow me to explore anything on my own. North Korea was definitely the weirdest country I had ever visited and throughout that trip I kept wondering what life was like in the neighboring South Korea, because it used to be the same country just over 60 years ago.
To answer my questions, this year I traveled to South Korea and made this video, where I compare my time in the North and my time in the South. I still have a lot of questions about the whole situation, but one thing was clear - the daily lives of the Korean people couldn't be any more different than they are right now.
My favorite books about North Korea:
Dear Leader by Jang Jin Sung - amzn.to/2vEkrrE;
Escape From Camp 14 by Blaine Harden - amzn.to/2vEz6U1;
Nothing To Envy by Barbara Demick - amzn.to/2vzieiI;
1984 by George Orwell (I couldn't believe how similar some things in North Korea felt to the ones in the book) - amzn.to/2vE92s8.

That and the fact that the Government in Seoul was recognized as the legitimate government of Korea after the first elections after the occupation ended - elections which Pyongyang boycotted then claimed were illegitimate since they did not participate. This is why the UN agreed to send troops after North Korea invaded. Of course, the UN being the UN, is incapable of making a stand on the rare occasion that it is right and so it lets the acknowledged illegitimate state be a member of the UN and stands in the way of a reunification.
both are called Korea technically? One is just called the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea and the other is called The Republic of Korea. Obviously, The Republic of Korea should be the official one tho.

This made my cry because I’m thinking about all these people in North Korea living their lives like that it’s like a living in a hell
no, locals donot think so
Of course they think it’s a heaven on earth becuse if not they would be probably killed and they’re also brainwashed
Wiktoria Leoszko ruclips.net/video/ktE_3PrJZO0/видео.html
Wiktoria Leoszko North Korea is in a bad state because of the USA everytime a “defector” comes, we make the laws harder for North Korea to thrive. They live okayish from my sources. South Korea actually captures visitors from North Korea and brainwash them and torture them under the National Security Act under the NIS
True...

After looking this, i appreciate my own country.
Looking this English very good
I have always appreciate my home country, america!
Why? Because I’ve been to South Korea, China, France etc I’ve been the good and bad and it always reminds me how privileged I am living in America, being free and not having to set a standard for myself and my future. Able to work what ever job I want and not have to be assigned a job. Being able to provide for myself and my family at my own.
Yes South Korea is fun actually most countries are fun but in the end being in America there is more freedom than other countries. I always tell others who hate America and want to move, tell them to move and see how much privileges they have in America compared to other countries. Most of these people who bitch about it living in America have never been outside of the country and never experienced how hard and pitiful others live.
@@JYYB i have never appreciated my home country, America.
