    I feel bad for that dude at around 4:56 because you just know that all he does all day is wipe down that railing and do some other seemingly pointless repetitive task. They have literal rock cleaners in North Korea. I saw a video of some poor woman who smiled when she was talked to as she was cleaning rocks in front of tourists, likely happy that someone acknowledged her existence, only to get sad when she was told to leave. It's a heartbreaking life over there.

    • @Kreze202
      @Kreze202 4 месяца назад

      How else are you going to have clean places? You think stuff just stays clean and doesn't pick up dust without anybody cleaning it? It's so silly lol out of all the things that you could've picked about the living standards in North Korea, you pick cleaning jobs to make a point? A job that exists literally everywhere else in the world? Are you going to get a heart attack when you see janitors/garbage collectors?

    • @堌
      @堌 11 дней назад

      @@Kreze202rock cleaning is pointless, being a janitor is completely different because your cleaning the inside of a building. Who tf cleans rocks, that is a great point the person who commented made. Your argument doesn’t make sense.

    • @Kreze202
      @Kreze202 10 дней назад

      @@堌 You're asking "who tf cleans rocks", and my answer is places that are actually clean. Even the job the original commenter mentioned at 4:56 is literally a normal task that any maintained indoor building staff had done in every part of the world. Have you never seen a clean park in your life before? What, do you think the pavement, the wood benches, the decorative rocks, etc in those parks just magically cleans itself? I'm sorry if you live under a government that just leaves public facilities to go dirty and unmaintained, but that doesn't mean that's the norm. You're either naive or out of touch with reality if you think that outdoor cleaning jobs are somehow a symbol of oppression.
      It's so ridiculous because people's perception of something normal instantly becomes sinister or depressing when North Korea comes up. Some day someone is going to come across a video of North Koreans eating traditional North Korean meal and go "Oh no, those poor North Koreans, they're just eating vegetables instead of meat" as if no other country on earth has a vegetable only meal. There are people literally eating bugs to stay alive in the countryside of North Korea, people getting shot for consuming pop culture media, people getting shot simply because they wanted to leave the country, whole generation getting murdered because a family member defected, etc, and you're instead going to be focusing on people cleaning rocks on a clean environment? Get a grip of reality, will you?

    • @堌
      @堌 10 дней назад

      @@Kreze202 Alright fine, you actually do have a decent point, but you missed the fact that probably hardly anyone even visits those parks, people are poor and don’t even get to live life in the city for the most part. maintaining a place that’s so empty as North Korea could arguably be considered pointless as nobody is going to notice or appreciate your work there. Infact most of the time if not all the time, the North Korean citizens are just completely ignored, not enough people will even care to smile or even give them a pinch of happiness. I also don’t understand why you seem so frustrated over this, it isn’t that big of a deal. Did you ever even learn to respect other people’s opinions? Because that’s all I’m doing, just sharing my opinion. If you’re angry with my opinion just don’t respond, nobody needs to hear your frustration. Also I only mentioned cleaning rocks because that’s what the whole comment was about, why would I talk about anything else it just makes my reply so irrelevant, I feel like that’s easy to understand but you don’t understand.

    • @Kreze202
      @Kreze202 10 дней назад

      @@堌 "maintaining a place that’s so empty as North Korea could arguably be considered pointless as nobody is going to notice or appreciate your work there." And how does that differ with half the jobs in even the most advanced countries? Do you think the average blue collar worker in the west is living the dream and producing things that people and themselves can appreciate? Do you think the average office worker in California, or a factory worker in Guangzhou, or a receptionist in Berlin, look at their jobs and say "Oh yeah, I'm so happy my work is being noticed and appreciated by people"? Nobody dreams to be a janitor, or a cleaner, or the garbage man, but yet those jobs are just a fact of life until robots can automate that in the near future. You want things to be clean but you somehow don't want anybody to do the dirty work for you. At the very least acknowledge that.
      "I also don’t understand why you seem so frustrated over this, it isn’t that big of a deal. Did you ever even learn to respect other people’s opinions?" Because people, including you, never seem to understand that North Korea and other countries that westerners deem as "the enemy of the west" and "poor countries" are mostly poor largely because of the west themselves. Tell me, how do you think a country can be prosperous when literally every single country in the world actively embargoes you, while the big bosses of the world actively lobbies other countries to keep that blockade alive and well? How do you propose a plan that can make a country a rich country while trading with no one? How do you think a business can make money when the largest and richest company actively boycots you?
      Yes, the North is poor, and it's tragic. Yes, the North's people are suffering, and it's tragic. Yes, the North's people are trampled beneath a dictatorship and it's tragic. Yet people like you never seem to reflect on why that is the case and conveniently leave out WHY they're poor, WHY the North is so obsessed with militarization, WHY the North is so paranoid about it's security, and instead you look at the North like a circus.
      Why does the US have dozens of military bases in a supposedly sovereign country in South Korea? How much foreign aid did the US give to the South over its history? How many types of consumer goods that would help lower prices and help the North's people's lives in general are banned from being traded to North Korea? And who initiated those embargoes?
      I take this seriously because people are unbelievably naive, and I can't stand it.

    I once was on the first flight out of Shanghai in the morning. I don’t know why but they made us use the last gate. I had to walk for 25 minutes after security through a completely empty airport. All the stores weren’t open yet and since I was very early, there were no other passengers. I waited in front of the gate and suddenly some other passengers came but when they saw me (foreigner) they must have assumed they were wrong because the flight was national. I asked them in Chinese if they were also going to the destination I was going to and then we were all relieved we were at the right gate. It was a big family and they somewhat adopted me during the flight. Whenever grandma handed out candy to the grandkids, I also got one 😂 turns out I was in fact the only foreigner. I know that because the flight attendant came to me and asked if my Chinese was good enough for announcements. I declined and so she gave me a private short security briefing and whenever important announcements were made she came by to translate. Was really nice.

I’d imagine everyone else was aware that you don’t need to arrive nearly that early. If you’ve ever worked early hours at somewhere like a mall, it’s crazy how quick it goes from a ghost town to full of people when it opens. Also if you think that’s crowded I’m not sure what to tell you. Of course in the whole building there’s not many people, there’s only one flight at that time. It’s obviously gonna look like more people when they’re all in line to board the plane? Because nearly everyone there is there to board that flight
