Great progress Chops. The early SDR's used hydraulic fluid in the clutch but KTM changed to DOT4 / 5.1, think it was some point in 2015. Not sure if a different master was used. If you haven't already found it I can email you the '14 factory service manual for the 1290 (it's the '14 model manual). One watch out is it still has the old rear wheel torque settings which has since been revised due to the rear hub issue on early bikes. How's the handling going? One common thing it the top yolk nut works loses, especially if it's been on one wheel a lot. Should be torqued to 50nm. Mine had similar weirdness and was loose, doesn't seem to manifest with play in the head bearings though. Loosen the top yolk pinch bolts and re-torque the top nut, then the clamp bolts to 15nm. Also worth resetting the lower fork / wheel geometry too in case things have been tweaked slightly, both forks have separate clamps on the lowers. All the above sorted mine. If you don't want the bark busters I'd buy them off you, was just about to pick up a set but can hold on for a while.

Rad guard is a wise investment on this bike.. one of the first mods I did.. Peace of mind mod.. Are you going to do the oil tank guard too? I know the cast aluminum is tough.. but again a peace of mind mod. That rotty system should be a worthy investment, I hear they sound amazing. Looking forward to the next video!! Good work Chop.. Is the top of the Rottweiler Airbox soft or rigid? The top is the airfilter right? I'm basically working through your videos for ideas for my superduke!
I don’t recommend the open air box ( check the crap it pulls threw the not only air , but they also the foam starts to break up and sticks to throttle body butter fly flaps
The easiest approach to correctly say Rottweiler is to pretend you're German and substitute the w with a v. Try RottVeiler and you will have all the African German leftovers nodding
For some reason I always assumed you looked like Ivan Lintin from the world of real road racing. Either way, nice looking bike, is that BVG's old Duke?
I would simply strip it bare and make it look a bit like the 790duke prototype because how much you improve upon the mighty superduke it will be spanked on a racetrack by small stock 600cc bikes anyway :P
Don't you just hate hydraulic fluid. I knew when you went to change the clutch slave that fluid would go everywhere at some point 😄. It always happens to me too when ever I do brake lines. At least the other bits don't require getting dirty👍 also I see what you mean about the tyres, there shagged aren't they.
Lamb Chop Rides what are you thinking of replacing them with then? Dunlop sports smart 2 are a good option that last long and have great grip or are you gonna try some new Bridgestone. They've been putting out some good rubber lately motogp tech stuff on the road so can't be too bad.

I used the Barkbusters carbon hand guards on my 2nd gen Tuono. Didn't look to bad and did help keep things a bit warmer and dryer 👍

That’s the first clutch I’ve seen that doesn’t use normal brake fluid! I guess that’s a KTM thing.
