I’ve always wanted to learn how to tie my own jigs. I appreciate you sharing these videos with us big dog. 👏🏼
I have been watching you for awhile now and you have help me improve my tying so much thank you.
New subscriber here. Watched the entire series. I'm just starting out and this is the best tutorial I found on RUclips. Thanks
Im glad to hear it!
Thanks for sharing your expertise, Mustache.
Thanks for sharing. Hope to start tying some jigs.
Truly Thank you for this video. I bought my fly tie kit/setup from cabelas. Bought also a book, but book wasn't helpful at all. Your video really helped. Appreciate you taking the time to share on tie jigs
New to the channel and watching through everything - really cool stuff. Just picked up my first vice and some materials! Would love to see a video on how to fix mistakes - like with the chenille - say you judged wrong: what to do next. And other situations like that if there are some common ones. Thanks!
That’s a great idea! I may have to extend the beginner series to add a video covering that.
How long do you typically pre cut your chenille peices
I only pre-cut them for videos because it looks nicer. 3-4 inches. Off camera I don’t pre-cut.
@@MustacheJigs lol I was wondering.
@@MustacheJigs yes it does look nicer that's for sure
Awesome!! I've started ordering stuff so I can start making my own. Any good places other than Amazon to order stuff from?
I love nimrodstackle.com and flyfishfood.com
Thanks for the video I just tied my first jig turn out ok thanks for the video
Awesome! Glad it helped!
I know this is an older video but I have one question . I bought everything you use to tie jigs . What type of bobbin are you using . I bought 3 Dr Slick and they are so tight they break the thread . I bent them out a little so they would be easier to use . What type of bobbin is this in the video above ?
I have a single bobbin that I’ve been using for 10 years. It’s super simple and cheap. It’s a White River ceramic bobbin.
Where did you buy that vice at? I got a kit from cabela's. The only thing that I don't like about. It is that it's kinda a pain to tighten the jig down. And sometimes when I'm trying to make a hand tie it falls off.
I use a renzetti traveler desktop vise. I’ve had it for over a decade and it’s never failed me.
Could you list your materials and where you get them?
Check out the earlier videos is the playlist. I have everything listed there.
I copied your bluegill candy and hammered them on it
Glad to hear it!
