Looks great Mick! Your future self will thank you if you follow two basic rules of thumb:
    1. Clean as you go
    2. Put the tools back where they belong
That way, you're prepared to begin a project and have a clean work space and know exactly where to find the tools you'll need. Those two things will help you throughout your life. They fall under the old adage, "work smarter, not harder".

Easier said than done especially since he was working against time as winter approached and snow cover came and no place set up for the tools. Shelter for himself was the priority. It’s easier sitting in the bleachers watching the game than being the one actually on the field.
He’s doing a great job in my opinion. I’m sure once he has the shed things will be easier to keep up.
I think a wheelbarrow or a hand tow wagon would be a great asset - also a ATV or small tractor with a front loader would be handy to haul things. But it takes time and money so he’s being smart in how he’s spending.

A suggestion, take it as you will. Take a few days and build a simple lean too type shelter to store your firewood in. Even if it’s just a simple temporary shelter. Those five months till winter will go quickly and having a large stockpile of dry firewood will mean a lot once the cold starts hitting. You’re doing good, and we believe in you. You can really turn that place into something. Don’t be afraid to ask for guidance. Alaskans are always willing to help each other out.

After six decades of building projects, I most sincerely suggest that always keeping your job site tidy at all times is a real must. A tidy site will enable faster progress, cut down on the risk of accident and injury, and also drastically reduce turning good left over materials into trash. It will also save you the need to be buying and filling trash bags the following spring. Forward planning helps to, throughout the summer I spend just a few minutes each and every day cutting two days worth of firewood. It accumulates rapidly and watching it grow gives me a great sense of security and pride.
I look forward to watching you again soon.
    Many thanks
    David in the UK.

Spring is my favorite time of year as well. I’d suggest (not that you’re looking for any) focusing on projects like: building a set of front stairs (safety); finishing your siding (housing longevity); moving your outhouse much closer to your home (first, to shorten your travel time, and two, having it be the first thing you see is odd), including digging a latrine pit for it (sanitation); building a firewood storage shed (helps your wood dry out); and constructing a tool storage shed (keep your stuff organized and out of the snow).

Good Morning from VA. Just watched your video and I also read comments. I am 62 yrs young and I have watched your family’s video’s forever. I guess when the first of your mom and dad’s videos first came out. I always just want to give a positive comment and would never like to a Debbie Downer by no means. People can be so ugly and mean in some of their comments and I pray you just take it as some people just don’t realize you are so very young. Just getting out of school last year and actually becoming a man now and you have so much exploding to do as you learn along the way. I’m sure your channel is going to develop to be an awesome channel just as what your mom and dad’s channel has become. Nick I guess what I’m trying to say is,be you and do what makes you happy and as time goes on everything will come together as it should. Live life and explore your interest because you have so much time in front of you. Your drawing skills are amazing, also you could be a storyteller because of your amazing voice and the way of your wording, and such a great sense of humor. You are going to go far in life when the time gets there and it will I promise you. Do what you can when you can and the people who really want to see you be successful it will happen. As always will be waiting on the next episode and even if it’s a 2 minute video I will still watch it but if it’s a hour long video I may have to break it down into parts because I can’t sit still that long 😂. Stay safe and enjoy all the wild life and beautiful country you have around you. I wish I had moved to Alaska when I was 18 fresh out of school. I bet my life wouldn’t be where it is now. Wish I could change things but you live and learn as you will. ❤❤❤

Great job on the cleanup - I too am currently doing the same. I bought a small greenhouse to start some seeds so needed to fix a area for it. Yesterday started the planting - feels great to move forward doesn’t it? I would like to make two suggestions if you don’t mind. One - you might want to consider building a cover over your firewood. It needs to dry out so it will burn well and not just rot. A tarp would help for now but building a cover would be good. Second - maybe move the outhouse out of the main path and set it into the woods a bit - not something you want staring at you? Glad to have you back - can’t wait to see what project you pick first.

Hey Mick, so glad you’re moving forward.
Spring cleanup always sets the tone for the rest of the year. I can see your raised beds growing veggies. The tool shed is a must and if possible you might consider adding a space attached to it for a small greenhouse to extend your growing season. Don’t know your plans for that but doesn’t hurt to toss the idea out there.
It’s all looking great.. looking forward to your next post.
    As always,
    Watching from Oklahoma
    Thanks,
    Jeffrey.

Great video, you're truly getting better and better at everything. I am not working right now, but as soon as I get a job I'm going to donate some money to you in hopes that you build a covered front porch. I really think that would add to your home, and I can just see you in a rocking chairing on the porch overlooking the view smoking a pipe. Well maybe not a pipe, but you get my drift!

Not a pipe! Don’t get him started on tobacco! But maybe a cup of coffee in his hand. 😀

    Spring ? YES !
Although this Summer Girl only thaws out in warmer months , Spring is my favorite , too ! It is the end of over-stuffed clothing layers and the beginning of...everything ! It is a hopeful season of rebirth...beautiful , fragrant blossoms and flirty birdsong , as their new families begin , as well .
Your cleaning efforts paid off and the homestead looks terrific ! Although "Home" is always a work in progress for all of us , I'm excited to see your evolving dream . Stay safe , well and open to the wise whispers of your muse !

Spring is a fresh start, new birth, new ideas, revitalized energy. I’d say you have them all. Who ever said “out of sight, out of mind” definitely didn’t have a mind like you or I. Hidden from sight or not, it calls to you. 😆 I’m glad you silenced it. Fabulous progress. 🎉

I agree spring time is the best 🌼🌸
The place is looking nice. Remember every little bit counts. A storage or work shed would definitely improve your area and keep those tools and equipment safe and dry.
Looking forward to more Alaska videos/ adventures from your channel. 😊
    Your doing amazing!

Good morning buddy nice to see ya! I’m cleaning up after winter as well. It seems that when we build a huge mess is always made. It feels nice to get cleaned up and organized. I try to burn all the scraps and junk I can. Fire wood sized wood go on the wood pile for warmth next fall. I guess when ya have some buddies over y’all can move the sugar shack out of the drive way and closer to the cabin heheh. Ya a storage shed is a must, someplace to put tools or work in when it’s raining. A nice work bench is helpful to. Ya buddy you are gonna be a busy dude over the summer. Take care, enjoy what ya do and keep the videos coming. It’s nice to get paid hehehe God bless buddy be safe!

Mick, sweetie, glad you used some larger garbage bags instead of kitchen trash bags for all the construction debris you are dealing with. Hope that next year you will return to a much better organized/cleaner property. The property is looking better & better! Looking forward to what you will accomplish this summer.

Spring is the best time. The property looks great all cleaned up. You need to build a shed or lean to , to protect all that wood. It could have a place for your tools. Are you planning on moving the outhouse out of the driveway. It needs a door, your company will appreciate it. Have a good week.
