  • @oj7177

I was a big fan of him and the wiz during that time. I still remember going to practice and seeing on the phone he had dropped 52 pts and 8 asts in a loss to orlando in the 2016-17 season. At that point i knew his team wasn't going to make it far without him, not even with beal on the team
He was top 3 in the east, and arguably top 10 in the league. Fast, great playmaking, great defence, great at the rim, and good midrange. He was ok from 3 too.
And, probably the most important attribute, he was a leader
He got injured right when things were going well with them, he was beginning his prime years with amazing stats
This shit sucks. Hope he finds a team willing to take him, but the clippers will always remain the best place where he could have stayed imo

    • @trigun442

I'm a huge fan of him as well. His potential was such a waste and the organization didn't give him that opportunity. Honestly, it would have been nice if Wall's prime was with the Wizards right now along with Porzingis and Kuzma. And Beal could be the Manu of today's game being on the bench or get a secondary superstar to pair with Wall but the only thing the Wizards did was give him a washout 37 year old in Pierce at that time...
I wish the Wizards sign him and retire as a Wizard.

Great decision maker in the full and half court and the PR. He made a lot of his players better like Beal and Gortat and prolonged Nene and Pierces career. What let him down was unfortunate playoff games the went down to the last second, his front office and location which harmed them when recruiting free agents. Their front office is kinda stingy and isn’t savvy enough to put together a contending squad. One of the best I’ve seen at the position and still think he can contribute to a good team like Milwauke, Chicago, DC, NY, San Antonio.. there’s a few teams that could do with his help.

I remember in those years Gortat was good, solid center. BTW, you should definitely read more about Vesely...

Ernie was such a terrible GM - as DC fans, we hated him for wasting Wall’s peak with such a mediocre roster (aside from Beal). That KD2DC campaign was an utter fail (didn’t even give us an interview).
This guy played the last two games in the first Hawks series with a fractured hand. Guy was so tough and competitive - I miss seeing him in a Wizards uniform.

I am very happy for John wall, however, for others that grew up similarly to wall, people need to stop the narrative that basketball is their only "way out". They need to promote the idea of staying in school and trying to get a degree or learn a good trade. They can get out like that also. You don't have to be a rapper or pro athlete or be related to one to have a happy life.

The NBA is pushing him out for whatever reason. Michael Carter Williams just got signed by Orlando , but Wall is still available lol? The NBA media is so damn weak. Not one update on his status, regardless if there is interest or not. No articles defending him or just an injury update/inquiry. Best of luck to Wall going forward.

John Wall grew up the way JA MORANT thinks he grew up smh my man’s actually shot back at the opps .. got in he league and left that life alone . Yea we had the “gang banging wall” era but atleast we knew he wasn’t faking it

Seems like a good guy. but athletes get injured. He made a fortune, hopefully he’s able to hold onto it and have a good life after his basketball career is over.

He never got the chance start with the Clippers on side a healthy PG and KAWHI. Any PG injuries to any playoff team will require a team to take a chance.
