  • Michael Beasley was once one of the game's most coveted prospects coming out of High School and then College. Once he got to the league, things went awry and he never fully reached his potential. He's made it back to the league once again, signing with the Brooklyn Nets for the remainder of the season, let's see if the 31-year-old can now find a home.

Michael Beasley will have to serve his 5 game suspension, as dumb as it is. Hopefully he can make something happen in the time he’s out there.

How come no Draft player ever has any footwork, basketball skill/ OR IQ to their game. I have a higher IQ and more skill than 95% of the league. On the Oath to My Lord, I'm a Top 30 player in the NBA currently right now at the age of 24. NBA Scouts check me out. Contact me; I'm a sleeper; a Hidden Gem. Someone get me an NBA agent or a scouts info, and you could make 10% for life off my NBA contracts.
IA the right people see this. Bill Simmons, you could change a Generation of Basketball by Having the First South Indian Enter the league and Dominate and Change the way we see Basketball Globally. Brother please check me out. God Bless Your Soul.
I'm a 25 year old Point Guard In my Third year of Medical School. I chose a different career path, but I've been a student of the game since the early 00s, and Just as a student of medicine, I studied basketball in and out since I was a child. I developed footwork not seen in the league anymore, every step I take on the court is efficient and profound. Watch my footwork, how I set a defender up, the concept of angles is unseen in the Modern Era, I mimic Kobe, Rip, Ray, Paul P, with every way I set up my jumper. My IQ is Luka, LeBron Level, as absurd as it sounds. I'm also a pure shooter, Ray Allen's 3 min youtube video moving baseline to baseline in the Garden Gym is PsychoMemorized in my brain since I was a child. I'm a Complete Basketball player with every part of my game refined like a superstar. Assists, Floor Vision, 2 dribble pass, cut off angles, Post moves, ball fakes, side jabs, triple threat. All used more wise and with a greater understanding than even current NBA all stars in the league. I can carry my own team in the NBa Playoffs, and take a team to the NBA finals, I have LeBron James leadership skills. Bill I am going to be a practicing Physician Within a 2 year span, Please Read Me out with Some credibility, As I know This may sound crazy, But I understand and process exactly what I said. Bill Simmons I ask God for your help. Help me get in contact with someone in the NBA. God Bless you and Your Family in this life and the Hereafter.

Great share! When he signed with Kansas State in Manhattan, KS he was perhaps one of the greatest, if not the greatest College Basketball player ever to play in Manhattan. At the College level, M. Beasley was almost unstoppable. I was glad he was on our team, and not the one down the road. He's been fairly productive in the Pros, but hasn't lived up to the hype when he was drafted #1 overall. I didn't know about him Mom passing away & I'll say a prayer for her & Michael. Perfect stretch 4 if you have a rim protecting 5 that can rebound and wings that can defend. His immaturity screwed him along with a low basketball IQ. BUT, what also screwed him was early on teams trying to make him a small forward. Hopefully, he can catch onto a playoffs team's bench as a 4 man that can get you buckets quick. I'd take a gamble if I'm the Bucks. Greek needs to be able to play the 5 down the stretch at times anyways.

Teams messed up trying to change his position from PF to SF. He was small for his position but played far bigger but could not defend SF's and playing outside-in as a SF instead of inside out as a PF lead him to be an inefficient player.

Had he come out of college now, the NBA would value his skill-set even more. And left him at the 4 spot because he would be a match-up nightmare and forcing teams to go small on him. Because going big means he would score at will however he wanted.

@@davidcombs3617 I completely agree. I wish he stayed in Miami. That culture was the perfect environment for him. Going to two of the worst run franchises at the the time, Minnesota and Phoenix, really hurt his development and reputation.

additionally KD further down in his career, even as a MVP , has said Beasley can get his own points against anyone in the league.
I really wanted him to continue his career in the lakers. Who knows he still might get a chance here.

My sense is that Beasley lacked guidance, or willingness to accept guidance, and he suffered from addiction and mental health problems. When I've seen him talk and heard about his behavior, it sounds to me like he might suffer from bipolar disorder. I pray he doesn't end up like Delonte West because I've heard the two compared to each other numerous times. He was extremely talented but I think his career, at this point, is over. I doubt he has much of the 30 million he made in the NBA left. Keep in mind that, after taxes and expenses, that's probably a net of 15 million at best.

I feel like the media used to demonize weed so fucking much and I think the NBA didn’t give him as much minutes bc he had a bad image. You can see from this video even with off the court troubles when he had good minutes he was playing well 🤷🏽‍♂️.

First off, this video was great. You did a great job.
    Now, to get real.
Think about all the lies people say....about how marijuana isn't addictive.
    This dude couldn't stop smoking.
    Ricky Williams couldn't stop smoking.
This guy was obviously super talented, but drugs ruined him.
I'm sure he's going to be broke af either this year or next.
He had his fun, but the drugs (and lack of larger payouts) caused him to not reach that potential.
    He seems to realize that.

For sure. He definitely has the physical tools to at least hold his own and he’s had some good moments, particularly in Milwaukee, but it’s probably far too late for him to put it together, sadly.

No doubt. Period. You 6 7, 6 8 , you got a defend a little. Even real Melo found that out, in one of the most publicly uncomfortable situations in sport in a long time. Undoubtedly, Beaz is nice, but can't rack up -4 one on one. Once he buys in, he'll stick.
