Tree Sentinel is the irrefutable king of drip in Elden Ring. I was so happy when I got his armor to go with the shield and halberd, and I completely stomped Altus Plateau after I got it. As the old adage goes, “you look good, you feel good. You feel good, you do good. You do good, you win.”

I absolutely love the tree plume on the helmet, gotta say I’m obsessed with how all the royal knights armour looks. The tree sentinel, the capital guards, it all looks so cool.
small fashion tip for people: tree sentinel on minimum body sliders will look about as large as "regular" armor (e.g. knight's armor) with average body sliders if you're not into the incredibly bulky look. I think it looks nice like that
Would love you to look at the regular Knight set, it seems off to me and I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm comparing it too much to Dark Souls knights armors, but that seems like the point?
@@FartSticksXDlol Breastplates are almost always rounded. not only does this aid in protectiveness, it gives you space to breath. also looks better. Hence why the knight set looks weird.
My favorite playthrough was a golden order fundamentalist with this armor/goldmask's faceplate. One of my favorite runs so far, looked mighty good sitting on that throne.
I like how he mentions it reminding him of Velstadt's armor, because there's a lingering influence of DS2 that carried over into Elden Ring. There's a Zullie the Witch video that goes over it in better detail, and probably others as well. Personally, it’s just nice to see the soul of the black sheep of the series living on in a new and improved form. DS2 is tied with DS3 as my fave (no hate to the original, but the Bed of Chaos cements it as my least favorite. And I just prefer the QoL improvements that came in its sequels.)
When the realism in fantasy come out this armor is a good example. Tree Sentinels are the Elite of the Golden Order, but they are a unit very grounded in the human limits. Then, the dragon sentinels come into play with their deformed and weird fantasy looking armor, and you know they are a step up in the scale of power, because logic is out of the conversation you can have with their power.
They really did a great job on armor variety in this game. My personal favorite is still the Confessor Set with lighter Leather hand and foot pieces, though. It just looks like something a Paladin or Fighter would travel in.
I love this armor so much. On top of looking dope obviously, it has the 2nd high Holy defense just barely being beaten out by the Crucible Tree Armor, but then it also has the 2nd highest fire defense as well, only behind the Fire Prelate Armor.
By far my favorite armor set in the game. The full set with the Haligtree Knight Helmet is the king of drip. I used that with Ordovis's Greatsword and the Golden Greatshield for the majority of the endgame of my first playthrough. I always play a Paladin on my first playthrough of Souls games. Elden Ring absolutely did not disappoint.

My favorite part is the face plate being held on with 2 straps of leather, like the armor is very ornate but still feels like elements of it are scavenged. The straps are so tight it is actually deforming the helmet if you look closely. If you look very closely at the filigree the helmet doesn't actually match the rest of the patterning. There is some deeplore with these guys we'll never fully know.
Ive seen a picture of drawing depicting moss-like-ghille suit-esq pauldrons and helms from either the roman invasion of the ‘barbarian’ lands or somewhere between then and the 1400’s. I thought it was dope and tactical.
i think overall its clear they took huge inspiration from real armour designs and even ceremonial armours. which i always love when a game takes some inspiration and you can see the real life application of the armour
Fun fact: Tree Sentinel's armor set is considered to have the best stats in the game on just about all counts. I have not played the DLC yet, so I can't study the stats. I'm willing to guess the dude with the pot obsession has Tree Sentinel beat.

a lovely detailed added in the dlc, both the foilage on this set and the roots of the erdtree greatshield glow while in shaman village!

Scaling up your head also fixes a few of those really small helmets that like the cleanrot helm.

This is my armor for my paladin. Except I use the Nobles Headband instead of the helmet so I can see my face. It makes me look very regal.
