The 26th season of Austin City Limits aired on PBS during the 2000-2001 season, as the 25th anniversary passed. Phish appeared on the show that year, and it was such a special taping. I was lucky enough to be in the audience that night, and I'll never forget it. The energy was electric, and the performance was flawless. Every fan should make sure to watch this show if they ever get the chance. What a lineup! Season 26 had the best Austin City Limits performances ever. I really enjoyed seeing the outtakes of Stevie Ray Vaughan's 1983 and 1989 performances, because you got to see how much fun he was having on stage. It was also cool to see the replay of the celebration of Townes Van Zandt from Season 23 in 1998. That tribute was amazing. I can't wait to see what Season 27 has in store for us!👍
The millennium began on Florida Seminole Indian Reservation. The chief of the tribe, aka the 'Jimmy' was invited on stage by Ernest and the guy danced with feet almost like a crip walk. And then he told a tale of alligators present n dogs vanishing
Everytime i watch a new show i havent seen, i learn a little nugget of info. Like how Page came up with the name, 'The Inlaw Josie Wales'. Thanks for sharing these videos
god I miss the old "First Verse" of Twist it's how the song should actually be. and not emphasizing "and subsituting every sound". it probably sounds like i'm nitpicking but it's a big difference

FACT
Austin City Limits was rocked to the bone that day during First Tube never been anything like it since! Epic moment for Phish
Seeing phish live on UT Campus for a taping of ACL, after seeing the last 5 shows of summer 2000, is one of my favorite phish memories
I actually recall watching this at the time.
Me Too!
Glad this is up
I taped this and my VHS taped LITERALLY RAN OUT on the LAST SECONDS of "First Tube," lol. Glad RUclips can run longer than tape...
I remember watching this live in 2000 on PBS
Same! 😁

Big, big time! Don’t think I’ve ever seen/heard this one, or at least not in a long time, so many many thanks for the upload!

I love how the end of Tube is like standing under a waterfall of pure love getting happily soaked. Good stuff! ❤️

Was working summer 2000 at Trinity U. in San Antonio, heard the band was coming, would have donated organs to attend this taping 🤩

the fact you only have 4k subs is a CRIME against humanity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't do it for the subs, but for the music and that you guys can enjoy it. Really appreciate your comment, man!
@@thepharchive6778 6k subs now, but each sub spends 100s of hours on here :)
This is awesome!! Haven't heard this in a long time...
Perfect rendition of Inlaw Josie Wales !
Henrietta dressed up! 😘
45:03 looks like Tuck is enjoying the show!
"and I am taken far away"
legendary possum
12:45 - phish fans: “HOLY SHIT I’M STANDING WHERE THEY WERE SITTING SEVEN YEARS AGO OH MY GOD!”
I mean I would be like that.
The first tube jam 🤤
Fishman wearing regular clothes. So weird to see.
I was going to say the same thing
Why did he opt to not wear the mumu? Did the dry cleaners mess it up? haha
Phantastic 🤠🖐
Love to hear their flecktones fans (how could they not be??). Flecktones have one of the best live shows of all time.
Not a big surprise considering Bela Fleck has sat in with them at least 5 times that I am aware of and played on “Hoist.”

Did Trey’s mom cut his hair with a bowl?
This is awesome! But how come Piper didn't make the tape, does anyone know?
What?
Too much information without a format, and along comes this format...
Fishman in jeans and a t-shirt is simply unacceptable.
I was the 69th like on this video. Feeling accomplished rn
