Billy not only lives there but has built himself a mansion. Just stunning. Can't wait to see him live.
Billy keeps stretching the limits of an acoustic flat top guitar. Combining folk/Bluegrass tossing in a bit of Latin jazz mystic in vein of Gabor Szabo’ a touch of the Grisman’ Dog and just about any thing He can conjure up.
Billy never made me think of Gabor, but now that you mention it, I can see it. They both played dreadnoughts with magnetic pickups too. Gabor was the first person I saw playing a Gibson J-160E, though by the early sixties he'd switched to a Martin with a DeArmond sound hole pickup. That's what he was playing when I saw him in Toronto with Chico Hamilton. I'm curious about Billy's guitar in this video.
Ping me, please, so I know you are still OK. I had a very bad period a few decades ago, worked through it, and life has been real good the last decade or so. Don't take a permanent "solution" to a temporary problem. Try. I did. Damned, if it didn't work beyond what I ever expected possible.🍻👍
I have watched probably hundreds of live versions of this song, and every time he takes off in this solo, I have to drop everything I'm doing and just watch. It's unbelievable.
How could you possibly concern yourself with something as meaningless as the number of dislikes in the presence of this musical genius? Ignore that crap and focus on what matters, and be thankful that you got to exist at the same time that Billy Strings is making music.
You watch it a thousand times and get the same chills every single time. He looks deep inside to bring out so much emotion and then has the talent to lay it out at our feet and share his raptures and pain with us. When you listen, you fall into this song and it feels like it's coming from everywhere all at once. Incredible. Thank you young man.
Just when I was about to give up hope that new music would never surpass the great music of past and it's great musicians, billy comes along and saves us old guys and restores our faith and hope.
Watching the meteoric rise of Billy Strings makes one wonder if a deal was struck at a remote crossroads. Seemingly from nowhere, his vocals seem to be a reincarnation of the best bluegrass singers of generations gone by, and his flat-top talent is second to none. How fortunate we are to enjoy Billy and his excellent band.
If you look into his backstory, he already went through a type of hell growing up, and I'd like ot believe some type of goodness and mercy and heart and soul and guts pulled him through to let his light shine for all of us to witness and be grateful for
Just look at the tats, the images and his unquenchable addiction to narcotics. I'd say you're dead on. The works of demons channeling into HUMANS is often 'fascinating' and music, due to it's ability to invoke emotional reactions is one of satan's favorite tools, going all the way back to the temptation of the Hebrews in the dessert. Most of the music artists are serving the darkness and they don't even try to HIDE it and still people doubt.
I am 69 years old. Long time fan of great players like Doc Watson, Duane Allman, Leo Kottke and any others. Young Billy has a gift no doubt . What I really like is that rather than imitate he has chosen to create. This is some beautiful stuff....

I’m thinking his parents are mighty proud…his father is an excellent blue grass musician himself 👍🤜🏼
What a tune. I've listened to it many o' times since the album came out, possibly before. Forever a fan. They deserve everything good that comes out of their music career. Now they just need to get into Canada and tour. Thank you Billy Strings & Co. The music means a lot to me, especially this tune.
Best new artist of this millennium at least. Just brilliant. The whole band is brilliant but Billy is on a whole other level. I think he's the greatest guitarist I've ever heard, and I listen to a LOT of guitarists.
An absolute worldwide treasure. Billy brings it every. Single. Time🤗. The musicians he chooses to play with are all world class musicians, and I find myself just closing my eyes and escaping in that incredible picking❤️❤️❤️. Thank you guys👏👏👏!!!
What an amazing musician. Truly a performer that can help pull many new people into bluegrass and its related genres. I can't imagine how Billy will be performing ten years from now. It's a true treat to see young folks get the recognition they deserve without having to jump through all the hoops of the music industry that usually are required to get visibility.
Can it get any better? Probably not. The entire band is so damn good. The Billy Strings band should be in the books as one of the all time greats. Thanks ACL!
There are SO MANY similarities between the two! Different genres but equally talented. I never thought anyone could compare to Stevie, but Billy is close! Love this guy.
Just saw him 4/23/22 in Irving, Tx...can only saw "WOW". I'm not totally familiar with his catalog, but loved every second of the show. precision, wild jamming, all of the band is amazing. will catch him again. you should, too.
The simple complexity is life in each moment throughout this passionate appreciation of each moment. But if you're a musician, or perhaps love one ... watch at 10:44 again and again the passing of the craft back and forth. Thank You.
Huh. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm a huge fan and had heard/seen this plenty before, just never near enough or payed enough attention at that very moment to notice that. I am not much of a bluegrass fan, but I am also ignorant of much of it. However, I love Billy Strings and one of the things I do like about the bluegrass format that he more or less adheres to in the service of many/most of his songs is that exact thing: the sharing of solos and the handoff of them, however, each usually uses a couple more bars than that. Lol.
What planet did this mesmerizing guitar player come from . He came from the planet of HEAVEN !!!! Thankyou God for the tremendous melodies this young man can serve up 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

How could you possibly concern yourself with something as meaningless as the number of dislikes in the presence of this musical genius? Ignore that crap and focus on what matters, and be thankful that you got to exist at the same time that Billy Strings is making music.
@@annspets4 I disagree

Who were the 40 deaf people that gave this a thumbs down? 🤯
I think they were run of the mill players that are jealous as hell.
I'm almost about to cry seeing this and reading all the amazing comments. Billy and his band deserve it all
Just when I was about to give up hope that new music would never surpass the great music of past and it's great musicians, billy comes along and saves us old guys and restores our faith and hope.
Watching the meteoric rise of Billy Strings makes one wonder if a deal was struck at a remote crossroads. Seemingly from nowhere, his vocals seem to be a reincarnation of the best bluegrass singers of generations gone by, and his flat-top talent is second to none. How fortunate we are to enjoy Billy and his excellent band.
ha i just made the same observation. i sure hope he didnt.
I couldn't have said it better.
I am 69 years old. Long time fan of great players like Doc Watson, Duane Allman, Leo Kottke and any others. Young Billy has a gift no doubt . What I really like is that rather than imitate he has chosen to create. This is some beautiful stuff....
This song will never leave the ”listen again” section of my RUclips
This Band is the Best band in a long time woke up last night in nyc and discover Billy strings
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I come from a family of musicians I can hardly wait to share this he is ripping on my Bose speaker
Now !!! Unbelievable!!!!
A new Fan!!!!!!
Thank you thank you
GOD
For waking
Me
Up!!!!!!!!
Where the heck were you all this time?!?!?!?!?
Every time I have seen them, he and his band are better then the last time. His music moves me in a way that hasn't happened in a long time, and it's beautiful!
I've been on am absolute Bluegrass tear since I found/re-discovered Billy, Molly, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas and all the rest. So great to see this particularly American genre breathe new life!
Nothing makes your favorite song better like a beautiful breakdown.
Truly blessed I'm on this planet at the same time as Billy Strings !!!✌️
Love watching him get lost in the jam. Fantastic BlueJam! Love Billy Strings!
Can’t believe I had the opportunity to see/listen and even converse with Billy while he was growing up in Traverse City area 👏🏽. I could see he was a fantastic musician back then but he is now at the pinnacle. All the comments about him are truly accurate and deserving. I’m thinking his parents are mighty proud…his father is an excellent blue grass musician himself 👍🤜🏼
Billy is definitely from another planet. He's so freakin good.
I have watched this several times and thought the same exact thing tonight. He’s downloading from somewhere else you can see it
Love me some Billy Strings!!. If
I was 35 years younger.😂 Can listen to his music anytime.
What a tune. I've listened to it many o' times since the album came out, possibly before. Forever a fan. They deserve everything good that comes out of their music career. Now they just need to get into Canada and tour. Thank you Billy Strings & Co. The music means a lot to me, especially this tune.
Billy plays a Thompson Brazilian Rosewood guitar he can't take that particularly loves into Canada.
I read he opted to not be a part of the experimental vaccine trials. So likely won’t be getting into Canada for a while
@@ACMxxxx2 I read he had a DUI which would also keep him out of Canada.
What do tge lyrics mean? Help😮
Best new artist of this millennium at least. Just brilliant. The whole band is brilliant but Billy is on a whole other level. I think he's the greatest guitarist I've ever heard, and I listen to a LOT of guitarists.
He just gave the children of his home town school in Muir Michigan 200 guitars pretty awesome guy all around
This is the song that hooked me in 2019, what people need to know is his band might be the best in the world. That’s what makes it so magical.
So AWESOME! He was looking for that whammy!!! But played right out of it…..what a tight group!
That's just insane.! He knows where every note on that guitar is with his eyes closed.!
Might be the greatest guitar player this world has ever seen...simply incredible.
Billy Strings: the gift to take you into the darkness and bring you back out into the light...
RUclips throwing an ad in the middle of the solo is fucking disgusting.
Thanks ACL!
Yep.....too bad we'll likely never hear either of them (Billy and Sarah) on the [mainstream] radio.... What a shame.
The fiddle player has made them better!!!
This song is really a great song,Billy! I hope you are appreciated!
It's simply the best version I've ever seen.
Saw Billy at Moody Center Friday June 2; blown away when he did this favorite and 3-1/2 hours of totally enjoyable Billy.
Oh man, I swear a couple of times during that solo that he was channeling SRV. I can hardly stop listening to this band - these boys can play!
There are SO MANY similarities between the two! Different genres but equally talented. I never thought anyone could compare to Stevie, but Billy is close! Love this guy.
I've listened to this maybe 50 times in the last couple days .Phenomenal ❤
Same here!! GOD DAMN!! What rock have I been under???
Just bought tickets. One of the greatest musicians of our time.
This is so beautiful it hurts
A generational talent. Thank you.
The energy he puts off is something out of this world!
Appalachian poetry in motion...at it's finest. Stone cold lightening in a bottle called country music or post bluegrass
🇺🇸✝️
Just saw him 4/23/22 in Irving, Tx...can only saw "WOW". I'm not totally familiar with his catalog, but loved every second of the show. precision, wild jamming, all of the band is amazing. will catch him again. you should, too.
Gives me chills💗💓❤️🥹💗❤️💓soooooooooo BEAUTIFUL BILLY!!!!! All of you together🙌🙌🙌🙌
Billy just gave us a glimpse of his soul. Glorious.
This is a transcendental experience! Billy's solo in this song is the most incredible single piece of music I've ever heard. Brings me to tears every time I listen.
Damn the way that he plays that guitar is totally insane... I wonder who here likes rumpke as well
Rumpke Mountain boys all the way. Terrapin family loves some RMB and Billy Strings!! Much love!
Watched this tonight for the first time and was blown away
I've been saying forever that good songwriters is all bluegrass was missing. So glad Billy Strings is around now.
I just saw him live for the first time. I don't know who the greatest guitar player alive is, I haven't seen them all. But I know beyond a doubt the best I've heard. He's broken the sound barrier of acoustic guitar
This video will reach millions of views one day
What an amazing performance. I'm here listening because I was supposed to be seeing him LIVE tonight but he had to cancel due to illnesses in the band. :(
ACL is a rite of passage and a venue that has collected so many historic performances.
this is one of the most underrated songs ever written, it’s been a long time since i’ve heard a song that genuinely moves your soul
