"Here's a little advice, get a haircut, take a bath, you might not get hassled as much." Teasle telling Trey, giving him a ride to Porland, Rambo riding in the back.
We drove down from Arcata. I was in graduate school at HSU then. I had a girlfriend named Cloud. We came down with our friends Kevin and Jesse Bell…. Phish friends for life. Life was super simple. Good friends, good drugs, SFO was waaaay different…. Tech had bombed…. The Gin is otherworldly. The way Trey locks in with the rest of the band throughout the intense development part of the jam is soooo good. Underrated Gin. It’s in my top 3. Thanks again for a trip to another part of my life.
I hope it's still simple enough for ya, skyscrapers and saxophones ya know. ❤ (These comments on all the phish shows bring me to tears reading all the stories.)
In my darkest of drug days… this was one of my all time favorite gins, and shows from 2000. Fast forward 21 years? Proud dad with success and a healthy family. Cheers fam. This show does not disappoint !!! 🔥🔥🔥
I'm sorry, but what happened? I saw them at the Mann this year, worst show I've ever seen... They haven't been the same since the hiatus, it's like the Dead n co of Phish
The sound quality is all the more impressive for the fact that the picture is from pointing a camera at the in-house video projection. From this it necessarily follows that the audio is also from the same camera (impressive audio pickup on that camera), or another source synced with the video after the fact (impressive editing work).
Having been a big fan of this 'final' show, I cant believe I am watching what happened. For years I have argued this show is a perfect culmination of their career.......had it ended here. I am so glad it didnt end.
Two guys from my dorm at UMass drove cross country for the show, then on way back the car died in Nebraska. They ended up missing two months of classes getting back.
I broke down in Omaha Nebraska moving west from MA and the tow truck driver said to me in the most dead pan voice "Same place i broke down 20 years ago."
last show before hiatus .i hit evry show this tour except 1 night i got shut out in the rain in chicago ,ist time going cross country on tour, isttime in cali or the west coast ,red woods ,cops ,traveling with kids i just met ..amazing time. now oakland bay area is my home lol
I met a guy in Mexico this year who had seen the most shows I have ever heard of anyone seeing. 760 something. I was floored. He said the last show he missed was this one. So he wasn't there either.
I was 16 years old standing on the lawn by the railing hoping they were coming back on for a 3rd set. Anyone remember that rumor? I could of been high 🤣
Oh my God! Thank you!!!! I was hoping this footage would come out from the in-house monitors but figured it was just lost somewhere or nobody filmed the monitors. This is so great! The Gin is great. Mike lead bass grooves FTW. It is a somber show but I totally had a great time.
Totally agree... while on paper, or even upon first glance, it can get overlooked, to me... its up there with some of the best gins ever. Its all about how the song hits YOU when you hear it. This one is just perfect... the entire band shines on the jam, no one person steals the song as it peaks, its all very much a rhythmic, cohesive, team effort here. Some of my favorite playing from Phish 1.0.
I pusst out for this show!! Fuck! I was in Vegas and Phoenix for that epic ‘guy forget’ and probably the best camel walk ever!!! I missed this tweezer! Sick!! Glad I got to see it here though! I think they play so loose and pocket tight when they’re tired!!
I was there! Had to catch a cab (remember those?) to Shoreline from my motel on the strip in Mtn View after watching my Mets beat the Giants in the NLDS and barely made it to the show.
Such a sick show. Such great times. I would do anything to be back there. Sharing the groove. I remember standing on lot after the show like now what?! I LOVE PHISH ❤️🙏
Oof what amazing sound. I cannot believe I just spent over a hundred bucks on LivePhish and it didn't sound any better than this. Plus the app technology is atrocious. Well done taper whoever you are and wherever you are these days I wish you well. ❤️
As one of the fortunate few thousand who saw both this and Coventry I can confirm that the first "last" show was 100 times better, and I hope I'm still around to see the real last show. If nothing else the YEM encore speaks for itself. Still great 22 years later

Simple is probably the incorrect word to use these days; Content and happy are probably better descriptors. ❤️❤️
In my darkest of drug days… this was one of my all time favorite gins, and shows from 2000. Fast forward 21 years? Proud dad with success and a healthy family. Cheers fam. This show does not disappoint !!! 🔥🔥🔥
This is one of my favorite gins as well. Listen to it more than Riverport these days
I know this is a year later but Happy New Year! Curious if you happened to catch the Gin they did this run and if you have changed your mind. 🔥
@mrtravvybear same

The right hand cymbal work during the chorus of Mikes is crispy af
Just finished. Thank you so much for posting. This was a beautiful show ❤

The sound on this is sick.

Mr. Pharchive did an impressive job with syncing the audio, as this is the Live Phish SBD
Thank you Pharchive. This is a true gem.
Ugh. LivePhish could take a lesson. 😠

Sound quality on this is so much better than what circulates.
Always loved 99 and 2000 years of phish and jamming. Something about those years.. pinnnacle
That was on my birthday! Was only 5 years old at the time! Love Phish❤
Happy Birthday 🎉
@@freebassdj Thank youuuuu❤️
Any show that starts with first tube is gonna rock !
Went to these final shows in 99 and 2000, 19 and 20 years old, wish could rewind, tripped all weekend ha
This was one of the most bittersweet shows I've ever attended.
Two guys from my dorm at UMass drove cross country for the show, then on way back the car died in Nebraska. They ended up missing two months of classes getting back.
lol thats great. They walk back?
I broke down in Omaha Nebraska moving west from MA and the tow truck driver said to me in the most dead pan voice "Same place i broke down 20 years ago."
They should have just transferred to UNL
They probably love that story too. ❤
Great idea. Just film all the screens and edit them together. Love it!
If you’re driving and see a man cutting his grass wearing Beats and dancing a funk mojo with the mower it’s just me listening to this show
hahah i do the exact same thing! phish is the best lawn mowing music!
@@hiya5643 yes dudes. Team lawn boy
In on that. No other way
They went on hiatus right after the show for the first time but this is still one of their best performances.
Amen. This one of my all time faves!
Check out how tight Fish is on the drums during Mikes; playing with such conviction, strength, confidence, and power--this was 1.0.
Fish is an absolute force on every tune...his hands are so ridiculous with tight blazing rolls in his fills and his grooves are dripping
He's a mind-blowing machine. Big Cypress demonstrated his prowess to me. Mind-blowing skills and stamina.
This is my favorite Mike’s of all time but I never could quite articulate why, but I think you just did
This channel continues to deliver. “The last show”... awesome to see it. Thank goodness it wasn’t the last.

This footage is incredible! Thank you for blessing us with a fall 2000 gem!
A pivotal night in my life. Amazing show I'll never forget. Never expected to find video after all this time. Many thanks!
Enjoy it!
Fish and Mike killing it on that First Tube opener
They killed this entire show. What a tour closer!
one of my favorite shows.
Anyone else remember the crew getting a standing ovation as they played Let It Be post-show?
Such a chilling moment. Yes. I remember
Wow yes I do.
Too bad no video or photos have been released of that surreal moment. Nobody wanted to leave.
