In india sindhi language has constitutional protection.Thereare sindhi schools in india but now a days sindhi people used to speak sindhi among their community.Because English,Hindi and other religious languages have more importance in education and employment

Si dhi language is dying in India, and the reason is India's first PM Nehru. When Hindu Sindhis migrated from Pakistan in 1947 onwards, Nehru scattered them all over India and most Sindhis lost contact with one another, and that is the reason why Sindhi is dying.

@deepakturakhia1954 Sir, The city where I live there is a large number of Sindhi speaking people. They usually use SINDHI LANGUAGE as a medium of communication within their community. They prefer to use SINDHI LAMGUAGE during conversation with each other. There are more two or three colleges managed by SINDHI COMMUNITY and these colleges have minority status on linguistic basis. There is a facility of teaching and learning SINDHI LANGUAGE in NAGRI SCRIPT which is popularly known as HINDI.SINDHI community seems to be very sincere and sensitive for preserving their language and culture. This measure must be appreciated.

Sindhi community has two or three colleges under their management and these educational institutes have been recognized as linguistic minority institutes.Lingua franca of SINDHI COMMUNITY IS SINDHI LANGUAGE and Sindhis feel comfort in speaking SINDHI language within its circle. Thanks God Sindhis have been successful in preserving their language and culture to remarkable extent.

It's the only portion of Sindh which is there in India. But the truth is that Hind begins where Sindh starts. Sindhis (all over the world) should agree on one script which is derived from Arabic (but Arabs can't read it) as most of the linguistic work, literary work is done by using this script. Moreover, Sindhi is being patronized by Provincial government of Sindh hence it's future is bright.
Punjabi was being written in Persian Script (Shah Mukhi) since long but then Gurmukhi was also incorporated, Devnagri was also there which confused Punjabis hence people from different religious backgrounds are unable to write or read other script. Punjabi's major literary work (pre partition) was done by using Shahmukhi Script. Religious beliefs aside, people should unite on One script for One language.

I think one biggest point you missed is other tangible languages with Sindhi. Sindhi peoples mostly settled in Gujarat and Maharastra where there was already thriving Gujarati business community. So just like how Urdu speakers can understand and mostly speak Hindi, similarly Sindhi speakers would understand Kutchi, and some Gujarati. So it was natural that those Sindhis who grew up in Kutchi/Gujarati neighborhood their grammar and speaking style became more like these languages. I can say because I met few Pakistani SIndhi people, earlier I thought they were from my district in Kutch but after conversation I came to know they were Pakistani but we hardly had any problem I was speaking Kutchi and they were speaking Sindhi and yet we could understand each other.

I'm M. A. Soomro , though an Arab descendent but a loyal Sindhi, retired from Civil service/Joint Secretary. You are doing good work. Kindly accept my greetings and appreciation. To understand Sindhi language we must understand the geography of it. In medieval past, not remote past, there were Sindh on north western side of present day subcontinent and Hind on South Eastern side. Sindhi is derived (taken birth) from Sanskrit language along with it's sister languages Hindi, and Sinhali (Sri Lanka), Siraiki etcetera are it's child languages means taken birth from Sindhi language as Sindh was geographically comprised of those regions. Religion of Sindhis affected politics and politics affected it's boundaries.
Windh at least since 18th century is used as double word windh windh means unnecessary one sided arguments becoming cause of headache to the other party. I've not heard of windh meaning as battle or war.
While being here or even today, Hindos in some areas used to convert ک Khh (کھ) into خ and vice versa like in Panjab some people pronounce Karim as Kirem and Cream as Karem. Secondly since a significant majority were Muslims, Hindos tried to differentiate themselves by putting different theories which may or may not be necessarily right. I can quote an example A Histrion by profession a ڊڪ منشي Shamsuddin Rukunuddin Qureshi wrote in Aaena-e- Qadeem Sindh wherein he gave references of Toorat etc relating Sindh History to narrations of Abrahmic religions and after one year a Hindo Income tax officer Historian wrote Qadeem Sindh relating Sindh History to Hindo mythology. So there had been a competition mode. So some Hindos, not all, converted خ and ک and vice versa.. I would love to see links you might have added so that I can learn more on the subject. Even you are of my daughter's or grand daughter's age, I'm grateful to you on behalf of all Sindhi nation for you intellectual service to Sindhi language. Thank you very much and kindly keep it up. My Humble Regards.

In ancient times Sindhi were written in Brahmni script later during early medieval it was written in Devnaagri , after that growing influence of Persian, Khorasthi and urdu its changes . After 1947 , In India , the script were Devnaagri due to its matching with dozen of Indian Languages from Gurumukhi (Punjabi) to Tulu . The other factors are Sanskrit is the mother of all the Indian Languages , the words you mentioned in sindhi have same meaning in Sanskrit and sanskrit is written in Devnaagri script so preservation and revivalism of Sindhi and other Indian languages are easy in Devnaagri than other scripts.

Whether Sindhi had any exclusive script, if not it's very difficult to survive such language. As such there are many languages in India which don't have it's own script viz., Lambadi, Tulu ,Koli, lanthanide, Gondu.... their words are recorded in available indigenous script languages.

A good research but you are wrong that sindhis in india accepting them as sindhis. Sindhi is not growing as language. It took the form of cast. Sindhi speaker is not writing his/her cast as Brahmin, Rajput etc but writing sindhi as caste so you are finding it in census. In reality speakers are decreasing and no in cesus is increasing not as a speaker of language but a caste in itself. Yes, new generation is unable to pronounce many words and specially the difficult sounds. Old names are replaced by new!!

Very good informative video. Its a phenomenon of the world if part of the nation migrate to any world corner their languages seem changed like urdu is also a LASHKRI language . I am giving u a great example of GUJRATI N KATHIAWARI etc persons migrated to Pakistan were actually belongs to Thatta Sindh Pakistan. They were the followers of Abdullah Shah Ashabi n at that time they were called MOMIN. During drought season at that time they requested A S Ashabi grant permission to migrate other areas n pray for us for their business n he granted their request. They went to different villages n towns of Gujrat territory of India. When tbey reached in said areas the MUKHEES (leaders of the areas) placed some demands that if u r living here u will follow our culture n language n they accepted their demands. With the passage of time they absorbed the words of local language resulting they created a mix language of Sindhi n Gujrati. Still this communities language base is Sindhi.. (Reference from Book written by Pir Hissam udin Rashdi) . However Indian Sindhi alive Sindhi language allover the world.
