Hope it does, the race was incredible with that factor, it just needed lights so it can finish until the last lap instead of being 25 laps cut short due to darkness
I’ve been following Supercars over in Australia for a while now so I already knew that Shane had a pretty good chance of winning the race. Should have placed a bet on him…
Man I said the same thing. I remember saying before it was officially announced that he had a great shot. Checked his odds earlier in the week and held off because I figured with it being a NASCAR race, something might not go his way. Wish I went with my instinct
WHO is the racing world is mad…? Maybe mad at the crummy rain soaked track ..but it was one heck of a race for sure…! If Australia had just a few ovals some of Americans could do the same thing… CHEVROLET is clearly the dominant car on road courses…! 🏁🇺🇸

I believe Elliott said afterward Van Gisbergen made them all look stupid. Yeah, it just goes to show that you can be great on oval circuits but on road courses and street circuits, it's a whole other ball game, and boy were they made to look bad lol. Van Gisbergen has a wealth of experience having raced a LOT on street circuits and to do it in a car he had no familiarity with speaks volumes.
I’d love to see more drivers like him give it a go. Today was really cool, I always pulled for the road ringers at road courses growing up. Was always a blast seeing those guys come in and compete. I miss Ambrose. Wish he would’ve gotten an oval win
I think you are down playing SVGs talent, not only street racing, Bathurst 1000, Bathurst 6 hour (production Cars), Bathurst 12 hours (GT Cars) World Rally Champs top 10 round finish, Gt series endurance cup winner, 24 hour s of Daytona 2nd in class, Spa 24 hour, Leman 24 hour, NZ Grand Prix, can compete on quad bikes, Motor Cross bikes.....SVG stands out from most drivers in most catorgories. You can't just say they were made to look bad...SVG is is on another level to most drivers....Hell, Jenson Button and Kimi R couldn't hold a candle to SVG!!
@@GreenEggsNdCamAmbrose was born 10 years too early. He was a damn good cup driver but he would have been killing it in the new car and 5+ road courses a season.
Let ‘em complain! He gained more than a few fans today. Can’t wait for him to come back. Would love to see SVG, Scotty Mac, & Cam Waters fight for a win in the states. Wish there was an easier way to watch V8 Supercars.
The few yanks who are upset are already upset about the race being in Chicago, the race being on a street course, Bubba, NASCAR “going woke,” rain, sunshine, the fact that the earth is round, and that every day they wake up. I’m referring to the Facebook people that also exist here on RUclips and are literally mad about everything. They’re probably most mad that this race wasn’t embarrassing and lots of people had fun.
I'm sure a few might be bummed but, all of my NASCAR friends were pumped for him. Obviously, we want our driver to win, but if our drivers can't win, this is the next coolest thing. I think most of us are level-headed enough to realize a street course plays perfectly into a Supercars driver's hand more so than a NASCAR driver's hand. NASCAR has some really good road course drivers, but a street course is a whole different animal. It was awesome to watch SVG just put on a clinic. Going to see a Bathurst 1000 in person is absolutely on my bucket list. Those guys can WHEEL.
We're talking about Nascar fans. No matter what happens, there will always be people upset and complaining. Most negative and divisive fanbase in all of sports.
Have you never been to a race before? You spend more time watching the screen than watching the action on track. I was on the front stretch and could see the cars for maybe 7 seconds at most. Obviously we’re all going to look at the screen
When you are a spectator at a race you generally don't see as much as a person viewing it at home. But being there in person to hear the cars flying past you when you DO see them and to smell the exhausts, something else man...
@@1rexrex Good. We like the new fans better anyways. Gotta lower the average age of the fan base. The sport will be way more popular than it was in ‘05 once we figure that part out. Bringing a race track to the people, (instead of vise-versa) is a great start.

The atmosphere of this race seemed off the charts. Huge win for NASCAR. Hopefully it doesn’t rain next year!

As soon as the markets went up here in Australia i backed him. Had 40 on him at +4000. Also had 20 on him at +1600 for top chevy.
First road course ringer that lived up to the hype. He’s going to command top dollar to run road courses.
