I also have the discoloration behind the rock guards. I use car wax on the stainless rock guards and it works great.

Very interesting since I have seen the same discoloration on other Airstreams. I'm thinking it is part of the manufacturing process. I'll try the car wax. Thanks for watching Brian.

Thank you sir! This video was another great reminder of what every Airstream owner should do, not just newbies. For the rock guard stains, I found that diluted Dawn dishwashing liquid cleaned everything up to a like-new appearance.

Love your videos. I have a 2021 AS and have developed some light scratches in the Lexan. I know there is a polish available for those, but is it even worth it to try and keep it scratch free? Seems like if you even look at that material it will scratch even when washing with a microfiber mitt.

The only way I know of to remove the scratches is to replace the clear coat which usually isn't feasible. The Airstream Supply Store at the factory sells a clear coat repair. Thanks for watching.

Do I understand correctly that you are using diluted Walbernize One Step (Super Sealer) to wash the (parts of the) rig shown in this video? How did you determine that you could do this? There is no mention of this use in the “directions for use” on the label. The Rock Guards are Stainless Steel. They can be cleaned with WD-40 or any good Stainless Steel cleaner. Not sure what to use on them as a “sealer.” I always end up with Walbernize on my glass windows and it seems to wipe off just fine, but I have never intentionally done the entire window surfaces. The front window guards are not glass. Not sure what they are, but I suspect they are polycarbonate, which is very strong. The window and rock guards are essentially sacrificial components. That does not translate into inexpensive, however, just less expensive that repairing/replacing body panels. :-)

The Walbernize One Step is a wash solution not Super Seal. These are two different products. Thanks for your recommendaton on the WD-40.

@@LandingZoneHome Thanks. I will have to check my bottles. Turns out I have the “One Step RV Superseal.”
