Michael, thank you for your kind words, sir! We're happy you found it useful. Phil is a genius when it comes to Airstream modifications and upgrades. 💪
We picked up a 2022 Classic 30RBT three weeks ago and tonight after coming back from dinner, we noticed water streaming from the front air intake. I remembered this video and went to Home Depot to pick up a coil of 1/8 inch cable to check out my condensate line just as demonstrated here. That did the trick. Thanks Daniel and Lauren for entertaining AND helpful videos.
As a 30’ Classic Airstream owner…I want every single one of these modifications. Every season we learn more about our Airstream and every season we love it even more. Having had a travel trailer, Class A gasser, 5th wheels, a Tiffin diesel Bus the Airstream has hit all the marks for comfort and usability. Thank you Wonder Local for this informative video…small mods can make all the difference in your positive user experience. Keep it up!
We bought all the mods from Phil. He shipped them quickly and was a true gentleman to deal with. The step stick is already in use. What a difference…thank you for the wonderful video.
Phil is a wealth of knowledge! We had the pleasure of camping next to them before the rally and we were able to chat about mods and more. Great video!!
In scenarios like this I'm glad I grew up around my dad and uncles. My dad was an electrician, two of my uncles were construction contractors, and my other uncle a mechanic. Working with all of them through my teen years, and early twenties I certainly learned a lot. I've certainly learned a task is only as daunting as actually getting started on it. A little research helps as well, but even if it isn't perfect the first time around, a little practice goes a long way.
Super video with Phil. I have already reached out to him about all these solutions. Try to make him a regular periodically. Seems like he was just scratching the surface here. Great job all around guys. Keep it up and God bless you both with the coming baby!
As a fellow Airstreamer (Classic 30'), I want that little device that prevents lock-outs. It is a challenge to always keep a separate set of keys in a safe place outside the camper so this would be a great solution.
Amy, we hear you loud and clear! This thing has been a game changer for us. No more stress of leaving the camper without the keys in hand, or having a hidden set - although we still do as a backup. L+D
Thank you for this excellent video. Protect with painters tape before riveting, to prevent scratching the skin. Manipulation and kick back. I have this Milwaukee rivet gun, it’s excellent, especially when working underbelly and you have to push and rivet at the same time. Also drill out the old rivet before the new rivet with the proper bit size. Bit size and rivet types are specified in the owners manual.
Great informative video--thank you! We need Phil's products too! We've been slamming the door since day one on our '21 Classic 33, so we are going to try that solution, too. First time cleaning the vents resulted in one stripped thread! Why can't Airstream just do the knobbed screws!? Door steps no longer shaky with that device... sold! Love what you're doing with your rig! Thanks!
Great video!!! Question: When putting down stabilizers - using 3/4” tap drill, the stabilizer makes a lot of clunking noise. I try to go real slow - some people I know theirs does not make any noise when putting down stabilizers or up. Mine does. New owner!!!
Another great how to video. The door adjustment was great, and the jack screws solution solved a major problem. Your drain line might need to be flush out with bleach to get the slim out of the drain pan.
We just installed the jack nuts and thumb screws. Pretty easy task, all in all. We drilled out all 16 holes, as we have 4 return air vent registers. We first drilled to the first drill size on all holes. Using a paper plate or bowl, worked great. We then can back and drilled out the hole to the second and filanl size. A tip to getting the jack nut seated properly. Inser the provided screw into the jack nut and tighten till just 3 or 4 thread show on the other end of the jack nut. Hole the jack nut vertically, so you can slip the head of the screw into the tighening gun (I forgot the name of this device). Squeeze the handle slightly, till you feel pressure. At this point insert hte jack nut and squeeze the handle two, or so, times. You will feel that it will not get any tighter, then click the release lever. Unscrew the screw and washer and you are ready to move along to the next jack nut. Just take your time and figure out your process. Took us about an hour to do all 4 registers. We were vacumming as we went along, so we could capture ayn metal shavings. Pretty easy and definately and upgrade to what is provided by the factory. Some slightly longer and wider sheet metal screws, also do the trick.
Oh thank you for this video. We have been ordering many things as we patiently wait on our Classic….. ya right!!!! 🤣 These mods are “must have…must do”!!! Thank you again Be safe!!!!🤗💕
At the international rally I was parked across from Phil. I had him come over to look at my refrigerator door because it was hitting the side of the refrigerator when closing. Turns out it was as how the trailer had settled into the dirt after all that rain. Haven’t had the issue since Lebanon
All the mods are cool, but I like the step and the ceiling filter mods the best. As for the filter, I have a second set for our AC’s.. we have 3 ac’s in our North point so there’s 6 filters. It’s much easier for the wife to hand me a clean filter while I’m up at the ceiling and I just swap them out and rotate the 3 sets. Then when down and outside we clean the dirty sets, let them dry, and pack away for next swap out.
Let us know how it goes! We’re excited to get our truck done next. Fortunately, it’s still relatively cool - BUT once that summer heat hits we’ll both be glad we did it! 🙌
I have a shut off on the shower. Got it to conserve water when boondocking. However the tankless water heater shuts off allowing for cold water to pass through the line, each time I shut off the water. I get a burst of freezing cold water about 5 seconds after turning water back on- thus wasting water and ruining my shower. So now I just don't use the shut off. Probably works great if you have a tanked water heater.
I clean the ac filter at the start of every season. It was gross the first time! I use some solid wire I use for my radios. Seeing as to getting a gutted AS,I have a rivet gun. A pretty good one because I put about 500 rivets in the inside. No excuse now Daniel! Both of you stay safe!
Just emailed Phil for the vent kit. Why do they not just come that way???? I also am a slammer and cant wait to check the door hinges. Five Rivets for this video! ⚪⚪⚪⚪⚪
27:09 Phil mentions the Banana rivet, first I hear of it. I can see it has 4 legs compared to the Olympic rivet that has 3. Where would you use a Banana rivet?
Even for non Air Stream owners this was very informative - and what are you all using to track your ever expanding moving day, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly task lists?
Hi, Bit! Phil doesn't have a website, but does respond 100% to all of his emails. Email him at Noloxsolution@gmail.com and he'll take good care of you. We LOVE those two modifications. I started changing the filter a lot more often now, too. Daniel
This was so amazing I posted it on Airstream Addicts Facebook. Someone is asking for the contact info for Phil to buy some of his products. I don't see show notes. Do you have his contact info somewhere. I understand he doesn't have a website. (My hubby bought all of our stuff from him so I don't have it here.) Just found it...
Is the KES water valve on Amazon? I found one with same name but not sure if this is universal for the airstream?? Oh and the shampoo dispenser please tell me where to get that… I see a lot on Amazon but I wanna get the one people recommend i don’t see it on your Amazon page
Here's the list with both the valve and the pumps we use! :) www.amazon.com/shop/wanderlocal/list/174EKWJ465YUA?tag=onamzwanderlo-20&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d
At 9:50 the ball valve for the shower.... Is there something else that needs to be done because I've done something like that and when I've turned it back on... It was such cold water. I've heard that it slips by another valve in your wall and mix cold water into your water heater???? Not sure about that...
Hi, Josh! The front of the fridge is stainless, so they all stick. That being said, the size of the magnets definitely help. We have a few with weak magnets that occasionally fall off. Lauren + Daniel + Dash
Phil is on the road this week, but will respond to emails. We spoke to him a couple of days ago. Here’s his contact info. Email him at Noloxsolution@gmail.com
they do make hand operated rivet guns that you can buy that operate just as go if you are only going to do small jobs make sure you keep pressure on the gun, or the rivet will not set right, or you may leave sharp edges that may cut you
Hi, Gerard! Phil is still a small operation, but he is accepting questions and orders by email. Here's his information. He responds to every email quickly. Email --> Noloxsolution@gmail.com
Good questions, Gerard! I did go back and add a strip of plumbers tape afterward. It worked perfectly without it, but I figured it wouldn't hurt. Daniel
Steve, 🤣 I think you are probably right sir. Thankfully, we will be cleaning these out on a monthly basis moving forward thanks to Phil's cool Airstream modification. 💪
This is one of the best and most useful videos for airstream owners. I’m literally building a shopping list. Thanks so much!!

One of the best videos for maintenance and mods! Not as good as eating spicy 🌶 chips, but fantastic!! Time to buy more stuff!

❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for the kind words! Lauren + Daniel
Y'all, this is a wonderfully informative video. Phil is a wealth of information. So glad you filmed this. Learned a lot
Phil is gem. Met him at the rally last summer. Common sense fixes to quirky Airstream problems.
Phil is so helpful and knowledgeable! What a gem! Great video!
Phil "Da Man" and very nice video on easy modifications for improve quality living.
Just bought $250 of mods from Phil! Thanks for the video!!!!

Oh, and we’re filming some additional easy AC upgrades soon! It all adds up.
Great video!! I’ve sent an email to Phil for several of his upgrades.
You’ll be glad you did! He make solid products and is just a really good guy!
Very informative and great video & mods. Many thanks to you guys and Phil!

Plumbers tape .
😊👍🌹
Why can’t they build it correctly in the first place. Too many unnecessary mods
No slides may also equate to lowered risk of water intrusion and mechanical failures.
Airstream just seems to have advatages... No slides seems like a maintenance and money saver.
Agreed!
Does not having slides equate to less risk of rodent infestation?
We think so. Good point.
Great video 👍
