It’s a nice video thank you now I know some of the inside things that you don’t see. I think I’m going to get a rare bedroom so my hatch is in the rear not in the front where it’s subject to wind and water going down the road and maybe I won’t have a shell separation problem
Thank you for the comment.
How does it remove turbo deposits if it’s a fuel additive the turbo comes before the fuel
This is from the Cummins website, link below. "A turbocharger is made up of two main sections: the turbine and the compressor. The turbine consists of the turbine wheel (1) and the turbine housing (2). It is the job of the turbine housing to guide the exhaust gas (3) into the turbine wheel. The energy from the exhaust gas turns the turbine wheel, and the gas then exits the turbine housing through an exhaust outlet area (4)." www.cummins.com/components/turbochargers/how-a-turbocharger-works
is there a way to diagnose the bad actuator?
Yes, in my first video on this subject I show the codes associated with the failure. Please find that video and watch. Thanks you for the question.
That lady wasn't phased because Derry has historically been good to the people on the streets, the alcoholics and drug addicts etc, treat the pe4ople as human beings because so many of them were their traumatised relatives and friends and acquaintances of family, among other reasons. Derry still looks after its less fortunate although the dynamic of people with addiction issues on our streets has changed for several reasons.
Thank you for sharing this. I loved Derry.
I recently started using Archoil products, Archoil Diesel Fuel System Kit - AR6500 Diesel Treatment (40.6 oz) + AR6400-D Diesel Fuel System Cleaner and the winter Archoil AR-6300 in my 2023 Ford F350 6.7l Diesel and I haven't noticed any increases in highway fuel mileage. I'm not sure about how well it's lubricating or how often on my regen cycles. The jury is still out on this for me.
Thanks for sharing this info.

@ …..right back to you sir
I've done a lot of research and yes I use the same archoil and use the black bottle also but I'm only 2 weeks in
Most see results right away. Good luck.
XPD has been proven to be 100% better for fuel lubricity when compared to Archoil. Archoil 's only plus is cetane boost comparatively
I used XPD and the summer blend for years. I changed to Archoil for the DPF cleaning benefits. Thanks for the comment.
@@LandingZoneHome IMHO fuel lubricity is the most important factor to prevent CP4 issues.

Sorry but I don't remember. Thank you for watching.
In my 2023 GMC DuraMax I use Hotshots Secret and an extra shot of their pump lubricant every fill up, rarely does a regen , runs like the day I got it now with 15000 miles.
Thanks for your comment.
THAT IS THE FRONT AXLE LOCKING ACTUATOR ONLY LOCKS AXLE IN OR OUT. OF 4WD DRIVE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SHIFTING TRANSFERCASE FROM 2WD TO 4WD TO L4WD AND NUETRAL
Yes I figured that out when I replaced the actuator in a differ ent video. Thanks for your comment.
@@LandingZoneHome MEANT NO DISRESPECT SIR. POWER ISNT SENT TO THE TRANSFER CASH SHIFTING MOTOR UNTIL THIS ACTUATOR SHIFTS INTO 2WD OR 4WD IF IT HANGS IN EITHER POSITION THEN THE TRANSFERCASE MOTOR DOESNT RECEIVE POWER TO CHANGE FROM 2WD OR 4WD WHICHEVER IT WAS IN . IF THE AXLE HANGS IN 4WD THE TRANSFERCASE WILL STAY IN 4WD IF IT HANGS IN 2WD THE TRANSFERCASE WILL NOT SHIFT INTO 4WD. IF A FUSE HAPPENS TO BLOW THAT SENDS POWER TO THE SELECTOR SWITCH THE SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTS TO 4WD. THIS INCLUDES LOSE OF GROUND BECAUSE OF BAD CONNECTION IF THE GROUND TO THE SELECTOR SWITCH IS LOST EVEN FOR AN INSTANT THE SYSTEM SHIFTS TO 4WD. 😃
CENtane? LubriCOSity?
Thanks.

Started using ArchOil earlier this year in 2500HD Duramax L5P and have noticed a big difference. I wish i would have started using it sooner.
I'm with you, thanks for the comment.
See graph: XPD EON THE TEST BY A LANDSLIDE!!!XPD IS WAY BETTER!!
I used Opti-Lube for years and it did nothing for my DPF and I was doing a lot of unnecessary regens. This is why I now use Archoil. Thank you for the comment.
There sure have been a lot of Archoil videos on RUclips and BookFace as of late which makes me suspect that Archoil is stirring their own pot. What I know is that there is no miracle cure, only a variety of products that help with engine wear. Your favorite brand is your favorite brand. Period.
Lubricity, cetane
Thanks.
I typed up some responses to some similar videos and I'll copy and paste my thoughts to give you some insight about these additives and numbers to show you that Archoil is NOT necessarily the best "value" or bang for your buck. But, before we get to that, please stop pronouncing Cetane as "sin-tan". It's "see-tain" and not however you're pronouncing it. I'm not typing this to be a jerk. I'm just letting you know so you can be correct when speaking about these things. So for those that don't like to read long comments, I'll give you the brief summary here: Hotshot's Secret is going to be a better overall value in terms of cost per gallon. In short, Hotshot's Secret is less than 1/2 the cost of what Archoil is for a single dose. But, if you wanted to do a double "performance" dose of Hotshot's Secret, it WOULD STILL be less than Archoil and you would be getting better results overall. Also, keep in mind that your regen length "should" go up or increase for mileage when traveling as you are going to "typically" have higher exhaust temps from increased engine RPMs while driving as well as passing vehicles and going up hills. You're making the engine "work" harder by putting a load on it which will change things. Around town driving "should not" do much for regens since your operating temps and combustion temps are not going to increase enough to really warrant needing a regen UNLESS you're racing around town which I would assume "most" owners are not doing. Before you read my comments, here is some context to why they are what they are. If you haven't already seen the recent videos, you should go and check out the video on Repair Geek's channel titled "THIS is the Truth about diesel additives" but also, go and check out a couple videos on Project Farm's channel as well. The most recent one is titled "Are diesel fuel additives a scam? Let's Settle this!" and then an older one from about 5 years ago that was a similar test titled "Which diesel anti-gel additive is best?" Repair Geek came out with his video 7 days ago and Project Farm came out with his recent video 5 days ago. Now, although they are testing two different types of additives, you'll find the information interesting and definitely worth the watch. Repair Geek was testing a standard "everyday" diesel additive whereas Project Farm was testing "anti-gel" or "cold temp" diesel additives but both had many of the same brands. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND people watch a lot of Project Farm's videos as he's done a lot of testing of all kinds of products over the years. Repair Geek is great too. Before I type this, I'll admit that my comments will seem biased since it is going to discuss Hotshot's Secret and have support for them. But, before you go thinking I'm a salesperson or associate for them, I'm not. This is about numbers plain and simple. The wear mark results (to show how well it lubricates metal and minimizes or reduces friction) from Repair Geek's video listed below are on the left and additional Cetane levels on the right. The first one is the base of just diesel fuel by itself out of a pump from a Valero fuel station. **Just so everyone knows, the baseline for the scar or wear mark was 520 so any number lower would be better and any number higher would be worse.** Valero (brand) diesel fuel - 490 (I know they said the baseline was 520 in the video so I don't know why they have this number as 490 but I'm using the numbers off of their video) / Cetane 57.6 Hotshot's Secret - 450 / 61.4 Archoil - 360 / 62.6 Power Service Diesel Kleen+ - 430 / 63.8 XPD (Opti lube) All-in-one - 240 / 63.0 Stanadyne PF - 500 / 60.2 **(when they discussed the lubricity tests with Stanadyne, they said that it actually increased during the wear or scar test by roughly 20 points so that's why it's 500 here compared to the 490 of the regular diesel fuel out of the pump as the first one in these results. So, this would actually be a bad product similar to the Howe's diesel additive I mentioneed earlier)** As you can see from the results, the XPD All-in-one tested the best in terms of lubricity capabilities but also had some decent Cetane boost numbers. However, there is a big thing to consider here which is CPG or (Cost Per Gallon). Anyway, although the XPD everyday diesel treatment/additive did provide the best wear results by having the smallest wear mark or "scar" (like similar to this one where Project Farm tests the lubricity by using a wheel) as well as increasing the Cetane level a good amount, there are some other things to consider here. For one, the XPD diesel treatment was NOT $0.25 per gallon like Andrew claimed in his example of doing 30,000 gallons of diesel fuel over 300k miles at 10 mpg where he said it would be $7500 based on what he claimed in the video. I did the calculations based on having a bottle shipped to my address and it came out to be $78.92 before tax which is how all of these things are calculated. It actually came out to be $0.1541 per gallon or essentially $0.15.4 per gallon for a bottle that treats 512 gallons. (And actually, if you ordered two or more bottles from their website, they pay for the shipping so the price decreases even more and it comes out to about $0.124 per gallon of diesel treated so about 1/2 of what he was claiming) In comparison, the Archoil that he was recommending as the 2nd place alternative was about $0.1123 or $0.11.2 per gallon of treatment based on pricing of ordering it directly from their website (which I believe is what most people would do) at $44.95 per bottle with shipping and it treats up to 400 gallons of diesel fuel. In contrast, Hotshot's Secret that also comes in a bottle that treats 400 gallons was only $0.0448 or $0.045 per gallon based on pricing at Walmart of $17.95 per bottle.
Now, here's what I think would be interesting to know: If you doubled the recommended dosage of the Hotshot's Secret, what would the results be? Or, what if you tripled the dosage? As Lake Speed mentioned in Repair Geek's video, "adding more chemical does not "typically" guarantee better results". So, I'll admit that the Hotshot's Secret lubricity capability may NOT necessarily "double" or "triple" the original results but, I'll bet it would improve significantly. Hotshot's Secret does have a "performance" dosage if you double it so it would interesting to know what the difference would be. If you look at the numbers, although Hotshot's Secret was a little far off of Archoil in terms of the "wear" or scar mark test at 450 compared to 360, I don't think it was completely horrible if you consider the price as well as another option I am getting to. Now sure, that's a 90 number difference but what would happen if the dose was doubled? Surely that number would go down right? Now, I don't know if it would get down as low as the 240 that the XPD treatment showed but I'll bet it would be better than the 360 from Archoil. The other thing to consider was the Cetane increase of 61.4 for Hotsho'ts Secret and 62.6 for Archoil for a difference of about 1.2 between them. Again, I can't imagine that the Cetane number wouldn't increase even more if you doubled the dose in which case, it may be even more than the number that XPD had of 63.0. It may not quite get to the level of the PowerService Diesel Kleen + at 63.8 but what if it did do better than this for Cetane? A double dose of Hotshot's Secret comes out to $0.08975 per gallon or essentially $0.09 per gallon. THAT'S STILL $0.02.2 cheaper than Archoil and $0.06.4 cheaper than XPD. Even if you tripled the dose of Hotshot's Secret, it WOULD STILL be less expensive at only $0.13.4 or $0.13.5 per gallon of treatment WHICH IS STILL $0.019 cheaper than XPD per gallon. What I'm saying is that if you figure it out by CPG (Cost per gallon), Hotshot's Secret comes out ahead of Archoil even if you have to double the dose and even if you triple the dose, it would "likely" still be better than XPD. Now, what we don't know UNFORTUNATELY is what the difference of the numbers would be if the Hotshot's treatment was doubled or tripled. Again, I understand that the numbers probably wouldn't be cut in 1/2 just from doubling the dose but what if it could reduce the number by 25% to 30% and go from 450 down to around 340 or even 315 to 320ish? What if tripling the dose brought the number down to 50% and it actually did get down to 225 or possibly less? Plus, let's not forget that the Cetane levels would increase as well. What if doubling it bumped the Cetane to 63 or a little more? What if tripling it bumped it to 64 or maybe 65? My point is that when you sit down and figure it by CPG (Cost per gallon), Hotshot's is coming out ahead even when doubling or tripling the doses. I would rather do a double dose and still be ahead of the rest of them in terms of cost and results. ***(I know I don't have ANY ACTUAL results to back up my claims or "theories" here but I think it's hard to argue that the numbers would HAVE TO get better even if only slightly.)*** Also, keep in mind that although this test was meant to show the product's anti-gelling capabilities, Hotshot's Secret tested very well in the lubricity area as well as the flame / heat portion of this video. To me, that would indicate that they've got a pretty good product especially when you consider the CPG. One other thing that people aren't keeping in mind with this discussion is that Archoil and XPD are NOT widely distributed like the other ones are. Although Hotshot's Secret may not be quite as widely distributed as Stanadyne or PowerService Diesel Kleen+ and some other additives out there, I know Walmart carries it at "most" of its stores and they also have it in many other stores like Menards (it's like a large home improvement store like Lowes or Home Depot), Runnings, TSC, O Reilly's, and many other parts stores. According to Hotshos Secret's Website, they are in most of the major fuel stations like Love's, Pilot, Flying J, and TA as well as some other "fleet" type stores as well as one of the Freightliner dealers and another store I've never heard of. So, you don't have to worry about ordering it and having to be at your home to get it. You can just pick it up at many locations on the road as you need it. But, if you're like me and like to save money, just stop at a Walmart and get a couple bottles unless you're a regular transporter and just get it as you're traveling once a week at your regular stop at Walmart. -------------------------- When I had typed all of this up, I had NOT watched this video on Project Farm's channel because I kept referring to the older "anti-gel" video he did about 5 years ago. I "assumed" he wouldn't do another one since he already did one. HOWEVER, I'm so glad he did an update BECAUSE I think it just reaffirms that Hotshot's Secret is the way to go no matter what. Even in the recent Project Farm video, you see that Hotshot's lubricity test is extremely good (damn near beats Archoil again) and excels in EVERY CATEGORY with the exception of essentially tying with Peak for the colder test. Plus, he does a test to try to show what type of "rust" inhibitor or prevention it may have by simulating the potential for rust to form over a period of time (something to consider as well) and some other tests like heat and so on. Overall, it is far superior though. Again, although I don't have any concrete evidence or testing to back up my claims, based on the videos on Project Farm and Repair Geek's channles and other videos I've watched, I think Hotshot's would perform very well even if you did a double dose of it and overall be a better value than XPD and definitely Archoil especially if it were doubled. Plus, being conveniently available helps a lot.
Thanks for this information.
Good question.
You are welcome, thanks for the comment.
@@LandingZoneHome by the way, if you are going to consider anything else other than Archoil and don't want to take my advice to just use Hotshot's as a double "performance" dose and STILL save money over Archoil, then AT LEAST consider getting the XPD All-in-one treatment that they test in the Repair Geek video that I mentioned. In the video, he mentions that it's about $0.25 per gallon of diesel treated but I don't know where he bought his XPD treatment at because getting directly from their website, for one bottle that treats 512 gallons (compared to the 400 gallons like Archoil, Hotshot's Secret, and most of the others), it is $64.93 plus $13.99 shipping to my address. I'm assuming that's what it would be pretty much anywhere in the USA since it says "flat rate" shipping is $13.99 (yikes for one stupid bottle). This works out to $0.15414 per gallon of diesel treated. HOWEVER, if you were to order 2 or more bottles, they take care of the shipping and that works out to $0.1268 per gallon of diesel treated which is only $0.014435 more than Archoil. In a 40 gallon tank, this works out to $0.5774 or $0.58. Considering how much better the XPD tested over the Archoil, it's a no-brainer to go with XPD if you're considering spending more money. But again, I think Hotshot's is still the winner. And although you don't have to believe me, I'll actually give an actual testimonial based on personal experience. I own a 2005 F-250 4 door and a 2005 F-350 (single rear wheel not a dually) 4 door both long beds with automatic transmission and 4x4 with the 6.0 Powerstroke diesel engine. The F-350 I drove mostly until it got totaled in the front over a year ago. Up until that time, I used Hotshot's in both but my story is about when I left my current hometown and went on a 225 mile trip when it was about -20 degrees out and I got some bad fuel at a place right when I left. I got about 3 miles down the road and I feel the truck start to lose power and the fuel pressure went from the regular 58 to 60 down to about 10 and then 5 PSI. If you're wondering how I knew the fuel pressure, when I bought the truck, the previous owner had fuel pressure, oil pressure (the HPOP or High Pressure Oil Pump), and EGT (exhaust gas temperature) gauges installed and they seem to be pretty accurate. At times, the fuel pressure was down to ZERO or only 1 or 2 PSI. It did this probably for about 40% of the trip until I got to where I was going and put some different diesel in. As soon as I put better "winter blend" or #1 diesel in, within a couple seconds it already was running smooth again so I knew it was just bad fuel or "summer blend" (#2). At the time, I don't believe I was running the Hotshot's Anti-Gel additive and it was just the regular "EDT" treatment. We didn't have any of the Hotshot's Anti-Gel additive in my area or they were out where I typically got it. I didn't really have any other episodes where I got the wrong fuel when it was cold so I didn't have to worry so much about the "gelling" portion. But, I believe it did have a few more times where it got cold enough that it did start to lose fuel pressure a couple times here and there. I did also run the fuel level so low probably 3 or 4 times that it would start to "surge" and only have power every 2 to 3 seconds and then slow down. This happened for about 10 minutes one time as I was trying to "limp" back into town to a fuel station because I didn't have my reserve fuel tank with me. The point in all of this is to say that even after the abuse that I put my injectors and fuel system through with those stories, I NEVER had an issue with the truck starting or running well outside of any other issues that caused it to have problems THAT WERE NOT RELATED TO THE FUEL SYSTEM. I had a starting issue but it was related to the instrument cluster that controls the battery saver relay with bad solder joints on the board for the cluster. (Common issue unfortunately). I had a light "knocking" sound like a rod knock after startup and at idle after I decided to drive about 130 to 140 for about 40 minutes constantly one night. Again, not the fault of the injectors in my opinion. When I got the truck, it had 310k on the odomoter and I made it to about 328k I believe before it got hit. It also had a very bad oil consumption issue with using about 1 quart every 400 miles or about every tank fill. Not good. I ended up using Hotsho'ts Secret Stiction Eliminator a couple times and then used Rev X one time as well and also did more frequent oil changes at about 3k or 4k and after a couple oil changes, it improved to about 1 quart every 1000 miles so definitely an improvement but still not good. I used it in my other 2005 F-250 and didn't have any injector issues that I'm aware of. Considering that many people say that anytime you run your fuel pressure below 50 PSI for the 6.0 you have pretty much "toasted" your injectors and I didn't have issues, I'll stand by Hotshot's Secret unless I have other data to change my mind. The F-350 also had Warren Diesel injectors, the blue spring kit, EGR delete, different turbo, 4" exhaust, and an SCT tuner.
Watch project farm. Hotshots performed better.
Thanks.
@MrWhitetailtracker -- You're "sort of" correct and I'll explain why but also recommend you read my comment that I typed up about 4 hours ago going in great detail about Project Farm's recent video (also make sure to watch his 5 year old video of the same test where Hotshot's Secret came out ahead back then as well) and also discussing Repair Geek's recent video (7 days ago) titled "THIS is the Truth about diesel additives". First and foremost, Hotshot's Secret did NOT "peform better" than Archoil in the wear mark test and was behind just by a very small margin but it was behind regardless. (5.17 mm for Archoil to 5.20 mm for Hotshot's) However, Hotshot's Secret did excel in all the other categories and was the clear overall winner in Project Farm's recent video about diesel additives. Second, Project Farm's recent video was NOT testing the "regular" or "everyday" diesel treatments like shown in this video. Project Farm was testing the "anti-gel" treatments by the different brands. So, the tests are different with different results as the products are different. I would suggest you go and watch Repair Geek's recent video where they do test the EDT "everyday" additives of Archoil, Hotshot's, XPD, Stanadyne, and Power Service Diesel Kleen+. For the record, I actually used Hotshot's Secret in a couple 2005 Ford pickups with 6.0 Powerstroke diesels in them and feel for the money it's a better product. But, if you wanted to do the increased "performance" dose, it would STILL be less than Archoil and XPD so you're probably ahead. So, although I'm being critical of your error, I am actually a supporter of using Hotshot's Secret and would recommend it over the other brands. I will just say to go and read my other comments so I don't repeat myself here.
@eldridge201 I'm not sure what error you think I made. You missed my point. The point was that even though they are different on the bottle that hotshots products are still a good product. I personally use VP in mine, so it doesn't really matter to me, but both products you use are good as well. Nothing wrong with them. Every truck is different. I am a cummins guy. The only Ford desiel I'd own is the 7.3 personally. I really wish Ford would go back to that engine. Anyway, that's another subject, but the hotshots project farm used is very similar to what you used, but it has an antigel formula. Contact hotshots and ask. Thank you for your response and the video.
@@MrWhitetailtracker Your "error" is that you said that "Hotshot's performed better" and you were referencing Project Farm's video. Well, what you stated is NOT entirely true. Hotshot's did NOT "perform better" than Archoil for the wear test. Archoil did in fact edge it out slightly. For the other tests, Hotshot's did perform better but not for that one. And THAT TEST is a pretty important one for many people so, it really depends on what you mean SPECIFICALLY when you state "perform better". You need to read my other comments because apparently you missed the main parts of them which is that I ALSO BELIEVE Hoshot's Secret is a "good" and great product.
@eldridge201 You're error sir. Not mine. Go watch the video starting at 19:42 and listen to the man. Two products yes slightly outperformed the top additives. Archoil is a fine product, and if that's what you like, it's good stuff. But yes, Hotshots slightly outperformed Archoil in the video.
I hate airstream fold down steps. Why do people get it? It’s very Hard to squad or bent over, automatic steps is a way to go my opinion!!! Something else is really really pissing me off is that China and Japan and even in South Korea is able to come up with a product such as car van camping, RV, etc. able to make things a quarter price , and looks very very luxurious… Now don’t give me wrong I support American workers!!!! With that being said, I will be more client in favor of that kind of items even compromisable halfway price compared to Southeast Asia product versus United States .🇺🇸 so we should meet in the middle ground and keep American people happy at the same time…. Price almost doubled and tripled a lot of the things ever since past Covid and Joe Biden, unfortunately… If our economy doesn’t go back down or American middle class, workers are going to face some dark time again unfortunately .😞🚨 I sincerely hope President Trump economy back and our Congress and Senate will work together this time⚖️🗽❤️🩹🇺🇸🙏
Thanks for your comments.
ruclips.net/video/V_iGOXq7DCM/видео.html Lake is the master of lube! XPD absolutely beats all of them.
That's true but you need to read my comments where I discuss how Hotshot's Secret is overall a better value since you could do a double dose of Hotshot's and be less money in than Archoil and probably have better results and do a triple dose of Hotshot's and almost be less money than XPD if you ordered 2 or more bottles of XPD at a time from their website. However, that's about $130 just to get the better discount whereas, you can find Hotshot's Secret for only $17.95 at pretty much any Walmart and most of the fuel stations and part stores around the country as well as some other big name stores like TSC, Runnings, Menards, and Meijer Superstores.
Picked up my first diesel 3 months ago. Have been using HotShot additive. Will give Archoil a try, see if there’s a difference. Thanks for the info!
Good luck, and let me know what you think!
Read my comments where I discuss this in detail. Long story short, don't change your product and keep using Hotshot's Secret. If you want to do a double dose of Hotshot's, you will still come out ahead since it's less than Archoil and likely have better results/performance. Just read my coomments and it will explain it all.
IT's OBD not ODB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks
I’ve used it in my truck. It didn’t do shit.
At a minimum it should have lubricated the fuel system. Thanks for your comment.
Thanks !!! Can you make a video just using the clear bottle ?
I've been thinking about doing a followup video, so please subscribe and stay tuned. Thanks for the suggestion.
What is it that you specifically want or need to know? The clear bottle is the regular everyday treatment that you would typically use when you fill up your tank normally. There's nothing to really discuss about it. You put it in your fuel tank just like you would filling up with diesel. There is a premeasured amount that you can use by simply squeezing the bottle into the side canister of the bottle with the long neck on it. I would suggest you find my comment where I discuss in detail about these additives and some recent videos on other channels talking about them as well as a cost breakdown to compare overall "value". Long story short, Archoil is NOT the better value overall. Hotshot's Secret is what you want to look for. Just read my other comment and it will explain it all.
Archoil seems very expensive and overhyped
For the benefits I find it reasonably priced. It provides lubracation to the fuel system, increases centane and keeps the DPF clean To me thats worth a couple of bucks at each fillup. Thanks for the comment.
There are just better alternatives for less money. I explain this in my comments but Hotshot's Secret is the additive you want to use. It's less than 1/2 the cost of Archoil and even if you wanted to do a double "performance" dose of Hotshot's, it would still save you more than $0.02 per gallon of diesel treatment compared to one single dose of Archoil. Plus, you can find Hotshot's Secret almost anywhere like Walmart, TSC, Runnings, Menards, most large fuel stops and most major parts stores as well as Meijer Superstores. It's only $17.95 at Walmart so a lot easier than having to worry about ording it online.
@eldridge201 I've been using hot shots and have no plans on changing!
I think I see a flaw in your data...highway driving will typically be A) hotter, and B) much longer....thus, your Regen intervals getting progressively longer are more due to this, than the additive effect. I suggest revisiting your test with an apples to apples comparison as far as type of driving done. I'd run that stuff just for the ASTM wear scar improvement shown. Protect ur pump peeps....no more sulfur in them thar fuels, eh?!?
My numbers have keep getting better even with stop n go and short distance driving. Thanks for the comment.
@@LandingZoneHome O.......ok
@@bryanford1139 Your logic is not wrong and I discuss this in my comment in this video that goes into detail about these additives as well as how his results may be "skewed" due to the longer driving like you mentioned. It's just a simple fact that the engine is going to have more RPMs over a longer duration as well as more load on it over a trip with passing vehicles many times as well as going up hills and etc.. This will cause the exhaust temps to get higher or at leatst it better so it should be different on the highway than in town.
Any oil additive only serves to dilute the additive package in the base oil (and sometimes ruining the performance of that package). Fuel additives are good to apply at each oil change as long as they contain PEA (polyetheramine).
Thanks for the comment.
@bme7491 -- You need to do more research to understand things because I don't think you fully grasp it. I know you used the words "sometimes" to try to save you but you're "sort of" implying that using an additive isn't necessarily a good thing and that's not necessarily true DEPENDING ON what type of additive it is and how much. Also, you need to understand why using fuel additives at each fuel up is important ESPECIALLY WITH MANY newer diesel pickups. Just go and read my comment where I go into more detail about this. I'm not going to repeat myself here.
@@eldridge201 I'll stick with the science rather than the anecdotal, thanks.
@@bme7491 So.....apparently, based on your response, you didn't bother to read my other comment because, if you had, you would realize that I recommend watching some videos that point to the "science" with some tests that were done. NOT by me but by otherse. But, apparently you're against that for some reason. As far as the "anecdotal", I don't recall typing it here so what are you referring to specifically that's "anecdotal"? Also, I didn't disagree with you entirely about your comment about the additive can dillute the additive package in a base oil in "some" cases. As I typed, depending on what type of additive or specific chemical it is and how much can change things for sure and it won't necessarily be in a good way. However, I don't agree with your philosophy to only use a fuel additive at an oil change and there is good reason why your suggestion doesn't make sense. It's WIDELY KNOWN that the diesel in the USA is garbage and with the way the newer diesels run and how the various pumps operate, they NEED some additive on a constant basis to ensure a long life. Not just every 4k or 5k or 7k miles (or longer if people go longer) at an oil change. But, if you're so bold with your statement and perhaps some expert and that you have some knowledge that others aren't aware of that is "sciency", then by all means, why don't you share it to back up your thoughts?
I've been using the Hot Shot Secret EDT product for about a year now, and it made noticeable improvements over nothing. After a lot of research I just switched to the Archoil products and I have high expectations. Good scientific data backing these claims is out there on other videos, Archoil is doing something right.
Agree, thanks for your comment.
You, like many others, need to read my comment where I discuss this in detail. Long story short though, you're not going to be getting those "high expecations" met like you think you will. Hotshot's Secret is a better overall value. You can double the dose and still come out ahead with less money if you feel you really need to do that. Just read my comments. It references videos that discuss all of this along with pricing breakdowns and other things.
that was my experience too and I switched also
RUclipsr "Repair Geek" just did a video on diesel additives. They ran the industry standard ASTM D6079 lubricity test on 5 different additives. One additive didn't make any difference, two others made a slight difference in wear. Archoil showed a good improvement but XPD cut the wear in half. Archoil was one of the better ones at increasing cetane rating. Cetane rating is the opposite of octane rating. Octane measures the resistance of gasoline to burn so you don't get engine knocking. Cetane is the opposite it measures how well the fuel burns. The higher the Cetane rating the more complete the burn hence why your DPF stays cleaner. I would be curious to see your regen numbers when you do more of the typical driving that you did to create your baseline numbers.
Good information here. I have only burned less that 2 tanks with my routine driving and the regen numbers are still going up; so that is good. Thanks.
Their Archoil sample was likely contaminated as it had a lot of Iron in it, that would affect their test numbers so I would take their results with a grain of salt
I seen that video also and was going to get xpc but my estimate according to the amount of fuel ii use I would have to buy 18 5gal. buckets fuel and find something to put it in while I'm on the road .so I opted to use archaic its still way better then nothing.
@@OoDubSo how do you know that it was contaminated ?
@@TonyBenton0728 no fuel additives should have iron in them, those are wear metals. The Motor oil geek even said it had "crazy high iron", they "reran that sample" and "we have customers that use that product and we don't see higher levels of iron in their used oil samples"
Good information. Thanks
Thank you!
I haven't used the fuel system cleaner ill order some
If you can please use the link in my video, that will help out my channel a little bit. Amazon link: amzn.to/40qGQsA
I use the fuel additive because low sulphur needs something and the oil additive along with T6 motor oil in the infamous 6.4 and no issues at 205, but I may switch to the opti lube fuel additive
I started with Opti-Lube and used it for 8 years before I changed to Archoil. You nailed the reasons I use an additive.
I cleaned my DPF and EGR engine killers right off my truck!
That works for some. Thanks for the comment.
The regen is dependent how you drive or how the emissions are. I use hot shot edt and the extreme.. my sprinter van regen every 500-600 depends how you drive.
Its happening so frequently because new vehicles are complete junk. My 2007 Dodge ram 3500 has 350k miles on it and the 4wd works everytime with the electric shifter
Yep, probably the water intrusion that damages the electric components.
@LandingZoneHome it is designed to fail. I work on vehicles for a living and the newer the vehicle the shorter the life expectancy of all of the components. Planned obsolescence is at an astonishing level with everything.
I just bought a 2019 river cottage and I was wondering if I need to buy a surge protector or does it have its own?
Sorry I don't know, maybe someone else is familiar with your model.
I had the lockout problem last week - no matter how hard I pound on the door my wife still won’t let me in.
Haha,,,
Thanks for the great review. This is the first video I’ve watched after Facebook ads made me curious and it was enough to get me to buy it. You should get a commission!
Thank you for the very kind words. If you use the Amazon link in the video description my channel will receive a small commission. Please us that link to access Amazon for any of your shopping and it will help to support my channel. Good luck with the product and I think you will like it :)
its definately one of the best there's a number of mechanics that talk highly of it
I think Airstream WAS a good product that deserved the high price tag. That's no longer the case. Many of the forums have posts on quality issues on newer trailers. We have a 1986 Airstream that is being babied to make it last as long as possible because we won't be buying a new one. We actually had an Airstream owner who was camping next to us in a campground in NM talk to us about his 2018 model and all the problems he's had with it (awnings failings, rivets falling out, and leaks). He actually offered to buy our 1985 mid twin-bed trailer because he said it was better built than the new ones.
After you saw my video, now my cabinet doors are falling off. I hate those hinges... Thanks for your comment.
0:51 that it’s pretty outrageous that airstream will admit they have a problem with manufacturing. Sounds like a class action suit against the company.
Maybe one day. Thanks for your comment.
It almost seems that airstream is dodging a problem for what those units cost. You shouldn’t be having those issues.
Airstream is most definitely dodging this problem. Thanks for your comment.
Lay it flat raise it up a little bit each time tried to send her books on its side it's how I'm working with my dog and I'm putting the treats treats on the running board and that's how she goes up it I haven't tried the truck yet that's the next step we've been doing it for about 3 or 4 days now she's going up the ramp twice in one day it's not too cold or wet tomorrow I'm going to work with her some more you just have to try different treats do you find out what street they really like Cosmo to go up the ramp don't just hold the treating your hand put it on the thing as soon as they put their feet on it tell them good dog and give them the treat try that and let me know if it works is what a dog trainer told me to do and it has worked
Haha, the video starts of with it flat on the ground.
Where’s the follow up video?
It will probably be Spring before I get it done now. Sorry for the delay.
Are you using a weight distribution hitch? I thought the recommendation was move to air-ride on the driver axle.
Don't know who made the recommendation you refer to. I was using WD but after the second FES I just hook up HD truck and go without WD bars. Have towed about 3K miles so far like this with no issues.
It’s all good if you got another place that you can live while your rig is getting repaired. That being said if you’re living in it full-time like I do it would be a complete utter catastrophe so my wife and I will not be purchasing a front queen unit that is the 33 foot classic that we were going to purchase.
Good points here, thanks.
My truck got louder after using this
Some say it gets quieter.
Archoil is a fantastic product. I used it and the friction modifier in my 6.0 Ford religiously. It improved the way that truck ran drastically.
I am glad you had great results with it! Thanking you for watching and please share this with your friends. :)
I recommend apple trackers… If it ever ‚disappears‘ your chances of locating it are very high.
