This seems really cool, but I can't really think of many practical uses for them in War Thunder. For base bombing, there's really no difference, as fuse delay for conventional bombs is fine for supersonics. In Ground RB, a slight delay is usually fine for saving your plane from quick and low drops, if you're crazy enough to use dumb bombs in SPAA-filled battles. These will be slower to drop and easier to avoid or shoot down, so I really don't see how they'll end up being better for anything but meme carpet bombing. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to see that with planes like the A-10, but I don't think they'll be replacing standard CAS or bomber loadouts any time soon.
These are staple for wild weasel rolling thunder. Coming fast and low under the SAM cover and just drop a bunch of these in a airfield runway or a SAM/AA gun battery. Their chutes/butterfly fins allow them to still use contact fuses.
I remember everyone on reddit was going HAHA GAIJIN RETARB LUL BAAAAD cuz they were fresh from review bombing. but I personally think that if low tiers get access to this, then it could be pretty cool so I wouldn't have to hug the ground and hit a tree when fighter bombing
these are for low and fast drive by, you don't dive bomb with these, you just fly pass a target REALLY low, like kissing the tree top low and drop them, it makes your aircraft harder to hit by sam, and you won't kill yourself with the bombs
Honestly, outside of some niche scenarios I don't see myself using these. I actually prefer bombs with a fuse for urban since you can bounce them off walls to hit targets.
The idea is basically treetop level bombing to avoid SPAA radar from picking you up. You want to be low enough to avoid radar or being actually seen much, but also have the bombs slow down just enough so you don't blow yourself up (so basically very low level bombing with an impact fuze instead of diving or higher altitude drops/delayed fuze).
With all the city maps you can use those to bomb in between buildings where a fast and low flying jet would drop normal bombs almost horizontally agaist the building, and not the streets in between.
Do any of the planes have CCRP which would allow you to set a target point before diving? It seems like another benefit of these when boming at low altitude is that you'll never have to worry about being in the blast range when they go off.
Thud, F4E/J/S Phantoms do have for sure. Check in x-ray if pilot have CCRP. That said, setting up manual CCRP point at low level is borderline impossible, as you need to point plane at the target. So, you'd need to find and designate CCRP target when high, then dive. The same CCRP also enables bomb toss, which would be one way of getting ordnance to the target without getting too close.
@Panocek you can map it in tandem with your freelook button to make it lock from anywhere the targeting pod can see, which in some planes can be 360° around the plane below it. Something I've found from hours and hours in test flights with my planes
I dont see the point of slower-falling bombs when your target is moving fast. I mean, you have to pre-aim more the bombs trajectory for them to it the target in time
it's meant for low-altitude high-speed bombing runs, so that you're already past the bombs, target, and blast radius by the time the bombs land/explode.

You can use the CCIP lock on the ground by the tank and then fly over the tank while holding the bomb release and it will drop at the correct timing.
With this you can spot a tank, lock the ground with CCIP, dive down to the deck and fly right over the tank and they won’t have time to react
That's CCRP not CCIP
@@bpop2148 so finaly a way to kill AA 😂
@@GeneralArmchair you are correct, CCRP stands for Constantly Computed Release Point where as CCIP stands for Constantly Computed Impact Point.
