    C'est vraiment magnifique! Moi j'ai un vrai blocage avec le dessin digital je trouve ça magnifique mais ya tellement de possibilités je crois je suis noyée et en plus je sais pas faire des décors (mais c'est ce qui me plaît avec le digital). Je sais vraiment pas par quel bout prendre le truc, j'ai quasiment jamais fini un dessin à l'ordi (alors que j'ai une tablette graphique depuis plusieurs années)

    Love love Krita but I started having too many issues working with it on my work issued laptop (I'm a teacher at a public school). Not sure if with each update they were making Krita more power hungry? Still love it.

      Did you try disabling OpenGL in the settings? That might help speeding up the workflow. Actually, it really helps on lower end devices, I gave it a try a few days ago.

      @@DavidRevoy Ponytail fits her more seen from an human perspective. Also may I ask you a few questions about texturing ? If I want to texture my models should I rather use GIMP or Krita ? I don't see really much difference with both...Or maybe just go with Substance Painter ? Thanks in advance !

    • @DavidRevoy
      @DavidRevoy  5 лет назад

      @@equinoxstudio2388 I think it worth doing texturing directly in Blender since 2.8; on Spring Julien Kaspar made a great video about it: cloud.blender.org/p/spring/5b9f7a516525c15987bd9703

    I started digital art in January (using Krita) and I just cannot understand how these great artists know how to paint like this. For example, how did David know to put those first marks down, and then build on that? I'm finding it quite frustrating because I can't yet find the answers. But it's driving me to keep searching!

      Awesome, I recently started making my own brushes in Krita and boy it's really powerful I love the brush engine! I would love to see a tutorial about brush engine from you David and I also love to share my brushes with others if there was a way inside Krita that you could share and download resources that would be great! something like Unity Asset store inside Unity Engine!

    • @DavidRevoy
      @DavidRevoy  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks. Sure, Krita don't have any limits on the pixels width or height, number of layers and pixel/per/inch ; you can go to mega high res depending of your hardware performances, of course.

    Does krita supports 4K monitor resolution?

    • @cristiancamiloruizhernande9359
      @cristiancamiloruizhernande9359 6 лет назад +1

      Miguel Santos yes it does and has GUI HIDPI support, but in any digital painting software you need scale image that are 720p and fewer

    • @cristiancamiloruizhernande9359
      @cristiancamiloruizhernande9359 6 лет назад

      If you mean work with 4k images, yes krita does too, but some brushes are slowest. Wait for Krita 4.x they're fixing performance issues

    • @Bhazor
      @Bhazor 6 лет назад +1

      Yeah performance isn't great at the moment. Its pretty laggy for me doing a 1920x1080 picture. But the team has said improving performance is the number one priority for the next release.

  • @ramirofb101
    @ramirofb101 6 лет назад

    what hardware are you using ?? i have a 1060 6gb and it lags like hell in linux with krita.

    • @DavidRevoy
      @DavidRevoy  6 лет назад +1

      Hi, your Krita lag can come from many area. A lot of user complains about lags while they just often activated the stabilizer by accident with wrong settings. So, first be sure to be not using stabilizer. Second, do not use Wayland. Pick Xorg and a D.E. or Windows Manager optimised. Then, install the proprietary driver of your graphic card, and use a recent driver. A Nvidia card with the open-source driver can render only 10% of its power from my tests. Last, start with small canvas , then upgrade the size (upscale) on the way. I was painting digital-art 20 years ago on pentium 100mhz with Photoshop 5 and probably 256MB of Ram. Let me know if a point in this list worked for you! Good luck :)

      I'm using Cinnamon on this video; but since a couple of month I'm using GNOME. I also used Mate, XFCE and Plasma too ( mulitple time, over the last 10 years) ; I often switch desktop environment just for building new habit, and develop my opinion about them. I like to keep flexible to any type of changes. Plasma is probably the next on my list.
