      Thank you Tactic Lc. Your feedback is precious; because I always felt "left" by the RUclips algorythm. I'm glad to know they start to propose my channel on the side bar to new eyes. :)

    That turned out gorgeous! It's got to be a lot of fun to receive a 3D image like that and start painting in all of the texture and details. Thanks for sharing your process!

    I really love how your art is basically just one whole piece. Not much going on with layers selections or clipping masks, it makes it look so organic :)

    I love it when artists create environments I just want to crawl inside of. :)
    Really clever to mix the 3d modeling software and the krita software. As I'm learning about digital art, I'm noticing thats more common than I would have known. All these digital creation programs are going to keep artists busy pretty much forever. Digital drawing/painting, 3d modeling, VR programming, etc.
    Thank you for sharing!

      Ha, thank you for the feedback. Perfect, because it is not always evident to do something interesting with this painting video sources of 3 or 4h long. I'll then continue to mix timelapse (accelerated) and stop the acceleration at strategic part of the artwork to speak about a specific technique. This way, I can compress 4h into 12min and show a lot.

    Very indeed with your artwork, but also, painting over the Raw CGI image seems like very interesting. I tend to throw CGI as a background for Animation, making it easier for me to do it without re-illustrate four sides when it comes into illustrating a room in which it would cut from 4 days to few hours of work. Nowadays, Since I watched that video, It motivated me to render a raw CGI image, then paint it over.

    Hi David, we call these tiny houses in the US. I really enjoyed this video & artwork/render. I still have not found a perspective grid that I like that I can use in Krita.

    • @DavidRevoy
      @DavidRevoy  6 лет назад +5

      Hey Seewardone! Thank you for the comment ; (I'm happy to continue the weekly habit with adding videos to my channel! I should plan a future livestream soon). I have a little collection of grid here; I made them myself with Inkscape and then I exported them as PNG with transparency. I have several grid I deform this way, or vanishing points. It's far from being idea. Often pretty huge to paste on the canvas, often lines crossing outside the panels of my comic. I have to look at a new feature in Krita 4.x ; the SVG library collection ; maybe easier to have that and drag and drop on the canvas vector lines , but it needs preparation and setup. If I get enough time and motivation, I'll certainly speak about it in a video.

    • @ThomasGiles
      @ThomasGiles 6 лет назад

      You could use the Vanishing Point assistant, then use the brush to add many lines like a "grid." You could even line the lines up with the existing image if you like. Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it could be useful.

    • @DavidRevoy
      @DavidRevoy  6 лет назад

      Hi Thomas; yes, it can be a solid solution to trace the grid manually. But it is a bit slow and the control on the consistency of the spacing of the grid segment is up to the skill and visual measurement of the artist in control. Soon, Krita Assistant will get their own color. I'm working on a request to be able to 'bake a grid' directly from it. For sure Painting Assistant are probably part of the best solution for the future (for those like me who still prefer a good grid.

    • @ThomasGiles
      @ThomasGiles 6 лет назад

      Fair enough. Failing that, maybe it could be worked into the grid or something. Keep up the good work, man!

    Good day, david. I was wondering about the brushes you use when painting. Are you using your default brushes on krita or you use your other custom brushes?

    • @DavidRevoy
      @DavidRevoy  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Chuuya's Hat, nowaday and since Krita 4.0.0 I use the default pack. I often create on the fly extra variations of the default brush; the one with opacity/size change only. This artwork on this video from October 2017 use Krita 3.x with my brushkit 8.2 and a Ubuntu Cinnamon operating system. The brush in this video is just a simple circle with a ratio compressed and a bit of rotation, with opacity sensitivity on pressure. A classic :)

    What up David? How can I subscribe to the Blender cloud?

    • @DavidRevoy
      @DavidRevoy  6 лет назад

      Hi Jeremy, I'm fine, in between two episodes; story development and website maintenance. To subscribe to the Blender Cloud; I pasted the URL in the video description; it's 9 Euro/month. They have a public version and a version with access to resources like production files, textures, blend files, old DvD videos and more and the money is used for Blender development and open-movies.
