The Falcon has always been my Hero in Star Wars. When I was a kid, I didn't want to be a Jedi or Vader. I wanted to fly the Millennium Falcon. Still do.

It's creative, ballsy, epic, and while imitated in lesser movies has never been matched. A perfect moment in a near perfect movie.
the ship was like a character, iconic recognizable, with its on style of flight, and an unmistakable on screen presence. It has an awesome engine sound!
I was 14 then, and I realized the other day, nearly 47 years later, the sounds of the weapons shot in outer space goes against the laws of reality. Don't detract at all.
The shot of the Falcon entering the Death Star was so fucking amazing. I remember when I was a little kid, I made a model of the Falcon and painted a card board box and played with it for hours just recreating that scene. I doubt there are any scenes from the new movies that little kids would recreate like that. There isn't a single scene in the last 4 shit Disney movies that could stand out quite like that one.
I was blown away in Empire when the Falcon went into a dive to avoid the three Star Destroyers. Spaceship battles stopped going horizontal across the screen and went into the vertical with the Falcon being chased into your face.
I saw Star Wars a dozen times that summer just to see the Millennium Falcon make that first jump to lightspeed. What a summer that was. Smokey and the Bandit was the only movie to give Star Wars a run for its money.
Will be a thrill for an older guy like me to see it appear in Episode VII on the big screen again. Thanks for creating this, makes you realise how much action the Falcon actually saw in the original trilogy.
I just realized that the moment the Millennium Falcon escaped the Second Death Star explosion is the last time it was seen on actual film for over 30 years. And soon, very soon, it will once again fly back onscreen. Oh, the hype!
I just love the sound the falcon makes when the turbines wind up then that damn thruster kicks in especially if you're watching it with a good surround sound....just awesome!!!
The day this movie came out was the day we saw the teaser that changed the world and broke the internet, also made millions of people cry, "Chewie, we're home". Thanks for posting this!!
Do you remember what the product was called exactly? I want to get a Millennium Falcon for my kid and was wondering if the type you got would be a good choice
I'm 54 from the UK .I slept in a sleeping bag over night with my brother in 1977 to see Star Wars. Blade Runner is still my favourite film . The Empire Strikes Back is my No.2. and will NEVER move Below that..The Soundtrack gives me Goose Bumps to this day. Does Anyone Else Just love that Falcon Noise ?
AJcaraballo95 I and every other guy on the planet fell in love with it in 1977. We wanted to visit the star ship Enterprise but we wanted to _own_ the Millennium Falcon.
I think that the Millenium Falcon is a good ship. So much so that it's my favourite one. This edit is really great. I've watched it several times already. Just fantastic.
+Qasim Mir It boggles the mind. We're talking well over 6 hours of film in the entire Star War trilogy, and we're all gushing over a paltry 8 minutes of special effects.
+Qasim Mir Well, you have to realize this video only shows the Falcon "in action". There are plenty of other shots involving the Falcon that weren't included - all of which are rather very beautiful shots which should have been included in this vid: The Falcon sitting in Echo Base with Chewie working on it. Han and Luke manning the gun turrets firing at TIEs. The Falcon sitting in the space slug. The Falcon attached to the back of a Star Destroyer. Han hitting the Falcon to make it start. The secret machine gun popping out from under the Falcon to fire at Snowtroopers. Han and Leia bickering in the cockpit of the Falcon with 3PO. Han and Leia kissing for the first time in the Falcon's engineering room. 3PO freaking out at a Mynock harassing the Falcon. The Falcon sitting on a platform in Cloud City. R2 fixing the Falcon's hyperdrive. Leia and Luke in the medical bay of the Falcon. The Falcon attached to the medical frigate, with Lando in Han's clothes. The Falcon sitting in Home One hangar bay. With all this in mind, I assure you there is WAY more than 8 minutes of the Millennium Falcon in the Original Trilogy.
this "piece of junk or garbage" called Millenium Falcon is the COOLEST ship in space I bet it is safer inside than that antique called Battlestar Galactica
the Falcon is the HEART of the Universe. Let's face it. You can modify an existing home to the Millennium Falcon theme- .... I like the seating and chess board for the micro kitchen
I remember at the time reading that the shot at 6:41 was the most complex visual effects shot ever done. It seems simple by today's standards but more is usually not better with these sort of things. Just too much to take in.
1:04mins Bay 327..5:02mins at Cloud City he was cleared to land at Platform 327 & in Phantom Menace Qui Gon was after a hyperdrive for their 327 Nubian. Lucas loved a Chevy 327!

Yes ! For me, those who don't like Millenium Falcon don't really like Star Wars
Yup, agreed...and they're building a Falcon (or 2) at Disney...I can't wait.

The asteroid field is still my favorite moment in all the Star Wars movies. So well done, it still holds up effects-wise 40 years later.
@@jcb3393 it even spawned a video game. One of the first, which was my favorite way to waste quarters
that entire sequence is one of the greatest over the top spaceship flight animations ever made..and it was almost all practical originally.

The Millennium Falcon. There is no substitute.
